HP Envy 17 t - 3200 CTO: malfunction of the system equipment preventing startup. What material is dead?

Got a HP Envy 17 3200 CTO LOADED at the time. Quad core, Radeon HD 7850M, etc.

Well the other day something blue screened but froze during this process and seeds of graphs in this screen. Corruption and blocks appeared and disappeared. I was forced to close during the blue screen as something bigger was not working for the crash dump process, it stood at 0%.

To restart the device display lights, and no noises are made beeps indicating a problem. The Bluray makes his usual preparation sounds it does every time you start upward. He's sitting with a white screen which seems not even to be turned on. The only other indicator is the key caps lock flashes several times and turns off, then blinks several times and turns off, repeating this sitting here...

What part is probably dead on this sucker? CPU? DRAM? Motherboard? Graphics card? How badly can I turn if he doesn't...

While he sits there, various lights keyboard are on as said... Caps lock flashing.
Power LIGHT on. In my view, that the wireless light too... The light HP envy on the hood is also on...

Come here to get advice because I do auto repair. No guarantee. I'll buy the requested Party and auto install like I always do for my laptop.

Hi @woggles,

Thanks for posting HP forums!

I read your post and wanted to help.

I understand that your laptop has crashed with blue screen, and after the forced shutdown, it starts with the white screen and some LEDs + flashing.

You can check the link for the LED codes: HP - computer laptops does not start and Emits a LED or beep Code

It is best to follow the steps on this link: HP Notebook PC - computer won't start (Windows 10)

Let me know how it goes.

If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me congratulations.

My laptop has recently installed 20 or if Microsoft updates when I last reboot. Now, there not its coming out of the speakers or headphones even if the system indicates that it should work fine. It seems that some people have this problem as well and I see a possible solution for Windows 8. I, however, am running Windows 7.

Efforts for resolution of the problems so far have not been successful. Can anyone offer a solution?

    Thank you in advance.

I experienced the same problem on a HP Envy 17, 2670 QM 3D, running Windows 7.  After 5 hours looking for a solution, call the HP and Microsoft Customer Service (unnecessary - both are pointing the finger at eachother or user) I came across a "default sound" that has changed.

Check in the control panel-Sound-manage Audio devices.  My changed default "speakers, HP Wireless... ».  I have reset the value defaults to "speakers and headphones IDT high definition.  The sound comes back and everything is back to normal.

I hope you are so lucky!

  • HP Envy all in one PC: Recovery Manager, the system restore is disabled by a virus

Had a virus on my all in one PC envy after a free update to windows 10. Computer has been closing down could not get antivirus to work fast enough. After reboot system had disappeared. There is now no operating system. HP Envy Recovery manager, System Recovery is not highlighted, do not not the possibility to do a restore? Virus stronger than I've ever met. Thank you in advance.

    NIP

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

It would NOT in fact the virus which prevents HP Recovery Manager to work.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752

What you would really need to do, is to erase the entire disk and restore your PC using something known as HP recovery media.

HP recovery media is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs. You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update". If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

If you have difficulties to find a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836

If HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

  • HP ENVY 17 t - 3200 CTO: update of HP ENVY 17 t - 3200 CTO HDD

Hello, I have the 750 GB hybrid drive, but I would like to move the operating system on a faster drive and keep this one as a storage device.

According to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03317166 (Service Manual), here are the specs for the HARD disk

Supports a 128 GB drive or 80 GB mSATA

Supports a 6.35 cm (2.5 in) 300 GB or 160 GB (SSD) solid STATE drive to 7.0 mm (. 28 inches) thickness

How is it these sizes are so limited? They have to be specifically 300/160/128 GB?

    For example, I considered

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB mSata SSD... preference mSata think it's better

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820147372

They use SATA 3? It does not in the manual

    Thank you!

Yes, it's a SATA-III system and the specifications of the manual are not necessarily the best, it will support; Here is the list of options offered by HP factory. He would go to an mSATA drive more in this niche, or a 1 TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD if you who choose. It is not m2 you mind, but the oldest mSATA drive type. The mSATA would be slightly faster than a SSD SATA but not really much because it's a SATA interface and not PCIe. You have at least a relatively easy access to the working parts. • Upgrade the OS of PC laptop 3D edition HP ENVY 17 t-3200 CTO

Hi, due to software College I had to upgrade to Ultimate Windows so that I can be able to download the Windows Virtual Machine that is not available for the Home Premium edition.  I purchaced the nec plus ultra could installed but none of my pilots to work so I could not download the drivers from a USB key or from the Internet.  Then I booted from the system recovery Partition, but it changed my OS to Windows 7 Home Premium, I only want to install drivers as those the network card and USB and download the rest.  Can someone help me please because I need to install software of any emergency!

Download the applicable from the web portal for your laptop support drivers and put them on a USB key.

It will be fairly simple if you have installed the same version of Windows 7. Version, I mean Windows Ultimate edition must be 64-bit if your Windows Home Premium 64-bit was.

I checked the drivers to the download page and it seems that the drivers, at least those I checked (cot and network LAN) work with versions 32 and 64-bit Windows 7. One thing, you need to check before changing to Ultimate is the manufacturer which and model of each devices to your laptop while Home Premium is installed.

This is because there are number of different drivers available on the support Web site box. Use Device Manager to determine what is installed.

  • Envy 15 t-3200 (Ivy Bridge) replacement of a card PCI WLAN

Hi all! I had just a small question: is rather specific, so I write just to see if anyone happens to have experience with this. Basically, I'm looking to replace the WLAN adapter integrated into my Envy 15 t-3200 (CTO). Now, it has the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 WLAN stock adapter. This adapter is not bad by any means, but I am in the process of upgrading some parts of my laptop (SSD, RAM) to give him a little refreshment, and I would like to see if I can replace the wireless network adapter as well. The one I want to replace it with is the AC adapter of 7260 - Intel wireless (with bluetooth). Hardware wise, I think it will work out great. However, a hesitation I have is the WLAN "whitelist" rumor that can be hard-coded in some HP laptops. So, if someone has successfully replaced their wireless network adapter in a Genesis Ivy Bridge Envy 15t (especially the CTO of 3200), I would really like to hear about it!

TL; DR: I want to replace the WLAN adapter in my Envy 15 t-3200 (CTO, Ivy Bridge Gen), but I'm worried whether or not the HP BIOS will allow me to start once I do.

As I said, I don't expect this is an easy answer, the question of him would we apply. It's probably something that can only be answered by someone who has tried the same thing. in any case, I'll probably end up ordering the new WLAN card to try it because I can send it if it does not work. I'll post my results here if I find myself for him!

P.S. I did a search on the forums and found another topic about this problem: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware-Upgrades-Replacements/HE-Envy-15-2013-Network-Card-upgrade/m-p...

It seems that he has ended up working for users, but I think they're talking about a more recent (Haswell gen.) Cell phone envy. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies/bed it!

Edit: I just noticed that the maintenance/maintenance manual lists the WLAN module as a 'can be used for end user part' so it seems that this may work after all. I went ahead and ordered the part ( here), and I still intend to update this post as soon as I make the switch.

    Hello

I am sure that it will work. Computers laptops Intel want to probably don't have the white list because I've tried three different cards wifi Intel and all worked. One of them was actually a very old part number (Intel 6300 Ultimate). Don't worry it will be ok.

If you definetely can't get HP recovery media, here are a few suggestions.

    1. if you live in the United States, try the 3rd dealer part on the following link.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/default.aspx

2 as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you can simply perform a new installation of windows 10 as stated in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

Can I install an mSATA ssd in my PC HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook? Added a SDS SATA 250 GB and 8 GB memory chip today but don't can find any way to add also a 250 GB mSATA SDS. I looked on the side in front and back of the system board.

I would return the mSATA EVO 840 Samsung SSD, I bought from Newegg?

The repair is no help whatsoever. It is said a WSSD m2 is supported 'model', but there is no picture of it in the manual or the indication when it is on the models 'select '. Those who have it use a version of m2 (connector three blades 2 not) so your Evo 840 would not work even if you had one of the models 'select '. I think that on those who have it that the port m2 is located on the motherboard so if you don't see it you are not among the selection.
