  Core 2 Duo is old technology. In the list in the post above, you can install the versions 'budget' of the Intel Core processors (i3, etc.). The Pentium 2030 M is the fastest at 2.5 ghz, but I couldn't find one for sale online. It is roughly equal to an i3 - 3120 m.

  You can remove your AMD A4 processor and install a

  Yes, 8 GB (1600 MHz DDR3L) is the maximum with one location.

If you are an experienced user, you will have an image of your hard drive and the original scores. I use Paragon software to keep the disk images on my NAS for cloning and emergency situations.
