  You can easily set the HPSA to warn you of updates and then use your computer Support pages to download updates to install.

  Do not forget:

  It is the opinion of the Expert that you shouldn't depend on HP Support AWizard when it comes to BIOS updates.

  According to other factors in the system at the time when the HPSA trying to hit your system with an update of this type; the results could be... other than expected.

  You can set 'Notification' HPSA to prevent it from trying to update your BIOS.

  DON'T update the BIOS when you see an update in the Web page of your computer AND this update can be used to provide a fix for a problem that you have discovered in your system.  In other words: If your computer is happy, do not update the BIOS just because you think it would be a good thing to do.

  If you decide to update your BIOS

  • Make sure that ALL backups are up-to-date and complete - this means that everything you need to restore the system in case something goes wrong.
  • Understand that even when you do everything exactly right, you can end up with a bricked computer, that is an expensive paper weight.
  • Make sure you have at least your critical data on some form of external backup.
  • Unplug the USB drives and other useless material.  Keyboard and mouse can stay connected.
  • Always run power cable to update the BIOS, never on the laptop battery
  • Touch the system during the update is underway
  • Optional: Leave wireless ONbutton. You could turn off the router to ensure that there is no interruption.

• HP updates does not install

  I'm trying to download the updates from HP through the HP Support Assistant, but they fail to install. They download OK, but they do not install. In fact, on a couple they open an install window and go to 100% but then pause and give me an x instead of the green check mark. (And it's really strange that audio driver gave me the check mark but after reboot says it must continue to be updated).

  I tried updates several times, and I restarted as well. Nothing seems to work.

  I suggest go to HP.com support page and try to download the drivers you menationed manually. The drivers for your laptop are to be found here:

  It is also possible that the drivers that you have on your PC are already up to date.

  The driver that you downloaded is a zip package.
  Unzip everything first.
  Then you will see a single .exe file in the unzipped folder.
  This exe file is also a package.
  Therefore, unzip the .exe file too.
  Right click on the exe file and select unpack here

  I have read and found that Android 4.4.2 dose does not install apps on SD card on HP tabs.

  I understand you are trying to install apps on your SD card instead of internal storage.

  Unfortunately, this is not a feature available on any Android device that does not have root access.

  There are methods available, but most require rooting the device, or by using the APKs HP could not support or encourage.
