HP ENVY 700-074: Office extended

I'm under Win 8.1 with a wide LCD of HP w2207 monitor as monitor and a HP 2310 series wide LCD monitor like the digital display.  When I log on once the computer has been asleep for a while, the Monitor flashes on then goes off hiding all windows that had been opened on this side.  To regain the Office extended, I can either cycle the power switch on the monitor or invert the screen with digital display, then knock down them again.  Sometimes, if I'm fast enough, I can keep the living monitor by clicking in a window on the screen.  It still does not work.    There is no problem with the extended during normal working desktop.  This problem only occurs when connecting.

Hi again jbpatt,

Thanks for the quick response!

Since you mentioned that this problem occurred after the upgrade to Windows 8.1, I recommend you return your system to the previous restore point to before installing the Windows 8.1 update. This can be done by following the steps described in this document on using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8). Once restored, I also suggest you to install some other Windows 8 updates for your computer. As soon as updates are made, then I recommend reinstalling the Windows 8.1 update.

As monitors cyclical food turned out to work when you connect to your computer, I recommend following the steps below to make sure your monitors work correctly:

Step 1. Unplug the power cord at the back of the screen and the wall
Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the factory reset option and select
Step 6. Try a different cable to connect your monitor to your computer

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • HP Envy 700-074 Graphics Card problem Windows 8

    Greetings,

    I recently bought the HP ENVY 700-074 (http://http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us & dlc = in & lang = to & lc = in & product = 5371495).

Initial setup went fine without any problem.  I replaced the power supply so that I could add the graphics card from my old computer.  The power supply and graphics card worked perfectly for my old computer.  Feeding is a BFG Tech GX 550 watt modular power supply series.  The graphics card, I have installed is the Nvidia 560ti.

The problem is that, when I start the computer, my screen goes to sleep (as there is no signal) until the login Windows 8 screen lights up. At this time, my screen lights up and it is normally.  However, if updates or restarts the computer, the screen turns off again and he returned sometimes when loading the desktop computer.  I tried to get into the BIOS to see if I could disable the onboard graphics, but I have been unable to access BIOS because I don't see anything on the screen during startup.  I removed the Nvidia card and returned to the use of the integrated graphics card and everything is back to normal.  I managed to enter the BIOS at the time here, but I don't see any possibility to disable the integrated graphics card or use the PCIe as main display (unless I missed something).

I also noticed that Windows 8 shows I have 2 screens installed when only 1 is installed physiclaly.  My HP (HP 2009 m) monitor is listed in Monitor 2 and I initially had to go through the windows to get my HP Monitor to display the entire desktop (as it origionally extended from the start, the desktop computer).  However, number of monitor 1 is listed as monitor of generic cards.  Thinking that the computer used the non-existent monitor like main display when starting, I deleted the generic monitor than to have to reinstall windows.  I also tried to disable, but the problem persists.

I guess that there is a conflict between the integrated graphics card and the Nvidia card.  However, I assumed that the edge will be disabled automatically after inserting a card into the PCIe slot as the integrated graphics card watch is no longer under device mananger.

  • HP Envy 700-074 model BIOS corruption, or bug, etc.

    Hello

My name is Patrick Barker, and I'm an analyst of the blue screen of death core Dump. During the last week, I ran into two users having a HP Envy 700-074 computer and experience the same exact bug check. The first time I met such a bug check, I imagined that the user may have simply received a system with a bad BIOS, things like this happen in computers all the time. Well, the user contacted HP and replaced it with the exact same model course, and he had the same problem.

Right at that time, I discovered another user knows exactly the same problem as the previous user. With a consistency like this, I wonder if there is a corruption of the BIOS and/or the bug associated with this particular model?

What is happening is that there is a frequency of verification of bug ACPI_BIOS_ERROR (a5) .

This bug check indicates that the BIOS Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) computer is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification.

    Error checking A5, {1000, 0, 80001000, 25}

The 1st setting has always been far 1000.

    1000 = ACPI_BIOS_USING_OS_MEMORY.

ACPI has been a fatal error during the processing of a region of memory operation. The region of operation memory tried memory card which has been attributed to the use of the OS.

This bug check usually appears in these 2 scenarios:

1 BIOS bug / damaged and must be resolved with an update or go back to the manufacturer.

    2 Rootkit (not very common).

In our case, it is #1. Exactly, what is happening? I can't be quite too sure due to having to have a version controlled ACPI.sys to debug such a question and with what is happening on another system user, I won't use them as guinea pigs. However, this seems a general problem from what I can tell about this model BIOS. For reference, a BIOS update is not currently available for this specific model, so not quite sure that the end user can do, especially if their systems of replacement of the same model have the same question over and over again.

Two threads where it occurs, I will update if I see anymore:

    1. Windows 8 crashes after being in the mode 'sleep' - Microsoft Community

    2. brand new computer under Windows 8 - 2 accidents in first day - Microsoft Community

Why I write this here? Well, on the one hand, I can't find a place to contact HP and / r supports directly without really own a HP machine. So, with that said, two questions:

    1. is there a way to contact HP directly on this issue?

    2. is it and/or any other person with this specific model of HP's have this problem?

    Kind regards

    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,

This forum is mainly of volunteers, and HP has no official presence here.    I ask that your question is raised.  In the meantime, you or your client should open an official ticket with HP support.  These PC is still covered by the warranty.

  • HP Envy 700-074 custom ' mode "Eve"

    3. Keyboard and mouse wireless
    4. 2005 via USB HP printer (don't know the model right now, I'm at work)
    5. The screensaver is the folding at home screensaver.
    6. HP Envy bought in February 2014.

The computer enters mode "Eve" from one day to the next, or I hit function-SleepButton. Monitor goes into mode with a yellow economy light energy.

When I try to wake the computer via the keyboard, the monitor is from yellow to green, which means that the PC is a signal, the fans of PC and the light is on, but the screen remains black.

Tried to update the bios by using this link , but I get an error every time:

"This update of the BIOS is not compatible with this unit". I think it's BIOS has not confirmed the update via msinfo32. BIOS version is still 80.15. Option to upgrade button is gray, this button on the same BIOS update screen as 'Save BIOS to flash drive' and 'Save BIOS file.

The issue is not that the keyboard is not set to wake up the PC, as the monitor light goes from yellow to green, when I type any key of the keyboard. Which indicates that the PC is a signal.

    What are my options here?

    Thank you.

Your update to the newest BIOS would not go. So I installed all the updates Windows 8, including those in option, and it seems now out of fashion 'sleep'. Thank you.

  • WANT to 700-074: BIOS update failed HP ENVY 700-074

I intend to update Windows 10 soon.  HP recommends to update the drivers and BIOS before upgrade.  the original BIOS is listed as FRIEND 80.15 in msinfo32 dated 19/09/2013 (and in the setup of the BIOS as KAI 80.15). The computer came with 8 VICTORY and has been updated to WIN 8.1.  I tried to update the BIOS with the update listed for computers 700 - 0xx WANT to sp66018.exe.  I downloaded and ran the update with the HP Support assistant help.  A DOS window appears, and the update completed.  Norton AntiVirus has been disabled and all programs were closed during installation.  I created a USB file as the recommended window.  After that restart the BIOS version has not changed... Even after several reboots (and stops) and disconnect the power cord (I did some housekeeping to clean the inside of the computer of the dust) the version of the BIOS is still the original.

What is the correct BIOS update?  There are two listed for my machine - 80.20 Rev. (I used) may 28, 2014

    and 80.24 Rev.A 7 April 2015

Which is the correct one?  I don't want to install a bad!

It is possibly disable startup secure in the BIOS for the update to be successful?

Apparently, the dates are correlated with the version I had.  I tried to install one, be one originally installed... I installed the 80.24 Rev A version dated April 7, 2015 and it updated without problems.

  • Pavilion Envy 700-074: enumerator Microsoft Bluetooth Code 10

I came across a problem with a yellow exclamation mark for Microsoft Bluetooth Device.  It shows an incomplete pilot.  I have read through the various errors and suggestions for other people on the forum, but it does not really my problem.  The first thing I did was uninstall the driver and the rebooth my computer, but the same error comes back and I can't find anything on the support page for my model.  The computer seems to work fine without this driver, but the exclamation point is indicating a problem.   Why I even checked my system is because my card reader quit working and I was trying to solve this problem when I discovered the error THE.  The card reader problem is always there as well.  For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.  I bought a card reader for the problem but I fear if something will follow other problems.

    NancyZ

I think I solved my problem.  10.0.10586.0 driver version refers to a mouse, but my mouse was very well so when I went in my devices to see what was hooked and am completely down he showed that a fitbit attached as "One" with a question mark next to it.  When I went into the properties he had nothing and he indicated was not connected because it lacked drivers.  I think it was a hold during a previous fitbit that I had connected but no longer use.  I just deleted the "one" and then restarted my computer.  He did not come back and in my sysstems the Bluetooth enumerator THE not displayed with a yellow exclamation point.  So far, everything seems to work on my computer.  In regards to my card reader, it is only the card compact flash that he can't read, but other cards can be read very well, so unless something happens that I think I'm okay just by using a card reader.

    Hello:

Welcome to the unknown world of the W8 PC.

There are two bios settings, you will need to change when you install a nonstandard HP video card.

You need to remove your new card, so you have a screen to access your bios, change settings, install the new card, and you should be good to go.

Normally, and I say normally, if the processor is supported by the motherboard and the 17-4790, you should not have to update the BIOS.  However, if you do, here are HP software and driver downloads for the motherboard.  There are two updates to the BIOS.
