HP ENVY 810-445qe: mSATA in HP ENVY 810qe

I just bought a HP ENVY 810-445qe with a 16 GB mSATA drive.  How do I know if it works correctly?  The startup time is somewhat less than a minute.

Hello

The 16 GB mSATA is a data caching solution and it will be faster compared to using an SSD for the start.

Data caching with the motherboard in your PC could be performed by a service via hardware or software according to the question if this feature is enabled in the BIOS.  Usually the HP in the past has used a software service with W8 for the caching of data.

Try some boots and see if the issue changes.  If this isn't the case, then contact HP support. If you are still not satisfied with the boot time then return and exchange the PC within the 21-day return period.  After 21 days, it becomes a warranty issue.

Your PC has a chipset Z97.  My Z97 PC chipset which is fully configured with several hard drives and SSD boots much faster using an SSD, given all the bells and whistles that are enabled.  However, I can boot from a 7200 HD using Windows 8.1 in about 30 seconds and less than 15 seconds using an SSD.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-445qe: specifications of need on 14.79 GB "Disk 1" labelled "Datadrive1 (e).

I spent the last few days setting up a brand new HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 445qe I ordered from HP.com. (Information system down in the case, it may be necessary.)

I did what all the new owners of the system should do after you set up the system: I did a DVD repair system, and am about to do my first image with Windows 7 (64 bit) backup.

Of course, when you perform an image backup (which is like making a photocopy of your hard drive to a point in time) you can not store this backup on the same drive you're imaging, for the obvious reason that you can not write to disk at the same time you are Imaging it. If the image backup dialog box gave me three options of storage location:

    (1) Datadrive1 (E)
    (2) WD MyBook external hard drive (G)
    (3) Blu - Ray / DVD / CD drive (F)

I was curious about the "Datadrive1" because I didn't know that's where! I don't me read something about it, then I went to control panel > system and security > ' Create and format hard disk partitions "(under administrative tools on the system menu and security - or the type of management of the computer in the Start Menu) to take a look at the drives and partitions.

This computer was said to come with a SATA 3 TB and because disk 0 is close to 3 TB, with a labeled 100 MB partition "EFI System Partition" a 2779,01 GB NTFS partition labeled "OS (C)" and an "HP RECOVERY (D)." 15,28 labeled GB NTFS partition So, there we have the bootloader partition, the partition of operating system Windows 7 and the HP recovery partition.

But there is also a 'disc 1' labeled 'DATADRIVE1 (E)"formatted as one 14.79 GB NTFS partition. I was surprised to see this data disc, because one of my complaints about HP computers in the past (or at least those available through Best Buy) was that they were always set up with one disc for the operating system and data. (It is always a bad idea to host your data on the same drive that your operating system, because the system disks get use more heavy and are more prone to failure.)

I recognized my Western Digital My Book 1 TB drive disc 2, entitled ' My Book (G) ' and formatted as a single partition NTFS of GB 931,48. It is the external drive only, I am informed, plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports.

So I called the support for questions on disk 1. Where is he? Is what kind of drive? Is what brand? Etc, etc. HP support officer did not know the answer to that! She told me that my system only comes with an internal hard drive and therefore that * must * be an external drive belonging to me. I have an external USB drive connected but it's G drive.

The only USB devices connected physically are: dongle USB wireless keyboard and mouse from HP; My WD My Book drive; and a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-One printer with nothing plugged into its card reader, who can't stand not anything on the order of 14.79 GB anyway.

I would like to know the details about this DATADRIVE1, because) I don't really know what it is and if I should write data there and b) do not know how stable the device is. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Pjoenix 810-445qe envy: Beats Audio Control Panel

This is a new PC, but the beats Control Panel seems to be a simplified version of what is shown on the HP website. A chat session with HP support gave me with the latest Realtek driver set, but the control panel is still the same after installation. There is no options of selection of entries (i.e. stereo mix, etc.)

Here is my control panel Audio Beats:

Here is what is displayed on the HP site:

Any help to solve this problem is appreciated...

Thanks for your reply. I had to install the latest drivers Realtek HD Control Panel. After a day of searching, I did the following:

-Right click on the volume icon in the lower right corner, and then select "recorders".

-The right window opens and click on the "Recording" tab

-The Mic Mic/Front with the right button and select "show disabled devices".

-With this checked, the stereo mix appeared, giving me the access I need (and always had in the previous PC.)

    Thanks again.

  • My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0) detection with envy Phoenix 810-135qe problem

I have a My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0)... The older My Book not the newest one... "My Book Essential" or something like that.

I used it with W7 x 64 backup utility on an older office of the HP (HP Pavilion a6560t) without problem until my new HP Envy 810-135qe happened. I downloaded the latest drivers from WD support and the PnPed thing very well off the non powered USB 3.0 at the rear of the 810. However, the 810 gives up the connection after sleep, hibernation, lock, or simply over time. I ran diagnostics on the WD and cables, all the beautiful removed. I tried cutting power saving s 3.0 to USB in device (just a guess) Manager, and that seemed to work for a few weeks, but I still have the problem of detection from time to time. All my drivers are up to date on the HP circuit. I completely reformat the WD now to see if that would solve the question somehow (I'll update in the next few days on how that worked).

Someone has an idea what is wrong? I suspect something with the BIOS. HP chat support has been no help (they go through the same checks that I've done myself) and they got really scary on another cat when I asked about adding an SSD as boot drive (I knew it was a problem of here and other forums)... Set myself to second level support, and all what they told me it is that they could not tell me something... Basically, not support for a config except for how they were shipped because it's a "customized" version (Yes, time to chagrin of the buyer).

Second, anyone running a similar config with a remote backup that works well? My WD is getting old so I thought one of the more recent portable USB 3.0 hard drives (2.5-3.5). My features to follow.

If the description says "drive Blu - ray and DVD SuperMulti burner."  Then it can only burn to DVD or CD.  In the description in the "customize and buy" button is says - play music and movies, backup files and burn your own CD and DVD.

There is no possibility to opt for this particular model, unfortunately.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-230qe: PC upgrade as a whole

    Hi all!

I am writing to talk about upgrading my PC, a HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 230qe, as a whole. Initially, I bought a PC with a FX-8320 and a little sad back in 2013 graphics card and bought a carepack with her. Once the graphics card has failed and has been replaced three times in a single year, I called HP support and a nice case manager (thank you Lorraine!) hooked me up with this one - a k 4770, 12 GB of RAM and a beautiful 270 r9. However, I'm not comfortable with the temperatures of the PC under load because there is only a single fan for all of your PC and it is blocked by water from Asetek 92 mm cooling for the CPU package.  So, I was looking to upgrade the PC as a whole around my birthday later this year. I had planned on keeping the CPU, GPU, RAM and 2 TB HDD, but I was left confused - the PC came with a 16GB mSATA 'Cache', and I know not whether or not the 2 TB of HARD drive or the mSATA drive has my Windows OS on it - if it has Windows, I'm having a few problems. A photo of two devices are here. Furthermore, I don't know how the CPU is. I was wondering if anyone knew or not that the CPU has been mounted normally or if it has been welded on - motherboard was made by MSI and the model name is "MS-7826.

If someone wants to see my upgrade of the list or make suggestions, it can be found here. I hope I can get some tips on the PC as well as help with my questions!

    Adam, welcome to the forum.

I'll add my comments in a space next to your questions.

What you are wanting to do can work.  However, whenever you have high end components in a matter of smaller size, you will have problems with the HEAT.  You're right to worry.  Heat will cause all components to fail prematurely.  If you try to move the motherboard for another case, you must ensure that the holes in the match of the motherboard the accessory in the case.  In addition, some of the connectors cannot be the same as in a case of HP.  HP has their motherboards designed specifically for them.

  • HP Envy Phoenix Deskto 810-160: HP Envy 3F6 Office Boot Error at power on

I have a problem of problem with my desktop HP Envy Phoenix 810-160 to initialize.  1 TB HDD and SSD 16 GB.  Originally Windows 8 and put to update with 10 "free" Windows OS

Back after a 13-day trip and got the hard drive error (3F0).  UEFI Diagnostics tests all passed several times.  After the passage of parameters of the BIOS back to default settings, error changed to 3F6.

Whenever I start now, I almost immediately get the blue window Hard Drive Error (3F6). I hit F2 and go to the Diagnostics.  Ignore the coming out by... the computer starts - but very slowly.  Later works perfectly until I stopped him.  Takes a long minutes to finally stop (all lights out).  Computer is 30 months old.

My 16GB SSD NO appears in Device Manager, but NOT in Solution Explorer.  In Windows 10 disk management, the SanDisk 16 GB SSD presents itself as shown in the red circle icon with an arrow pointing down, 14.9 GB, disk 2, unknown, uninitialized and 14.91 GB unallocated.  I thought it was supposed to be the startup disk 'rapid '.  I'm afraid to "initialize" this SSD lest I could format it and lose what is on it.

Can you HELP me?  Don't you think that the SSD does not work as it should?  If it's the "Startup disk" How is that windows starts in all?  Uninstall physically the SSD drive would help?

    Hi @dynaquest1,

Because the operating system is installed on the main hard drive and the PC works well. You can go ahead and install the player mSATA with no configuration is required.

OK I need help with my HP Envy Phoenix 810-130qe desktop computer. My pc came with Windows Pro 8.1 and it had an audio panel where you can set the audio beats. • HP ENVY PHOENIX CTO 810-135QE - 600 watts power supply Question

In the near future, I would like to upgrade the video card in my desktop HP ENVY PHOENIX CTO 135QE-810 GT 640 default to something a little more powerful and I was wondering if there is any details about the default 600 watts power that will help me in my decision to the next video card.

I know that some video cards require a number of amps on the 12 volt rail and all the information that I have found previously on the power of 600 watts power supply in the computer is not in that kind of detail.

What I read, the power is a Petrus 600W e-star 5.0 Bronze, HP Part number 633186-002.

Any additional details and details on this power to help me determine the next video card would be useful.

On a side note the video card, I'm currently doing is one of the next Nvidia GTX 750 TI models, thoughts and recommendations on this specific map?

    Thank you

    JCOOPER2

    Hello

Your PC has UEFI bios, so most video cards should work.  Some video cards will work in UEFI mode and others in legacy mode, that your PC is able to run.

When the manufacturer of the video card and/or AMD or NVIDIA specify a minimum power supply size then it is best to stick to this recommendation.  Not all power supplies are built to the same standards of quality.  In addition the internal components, temperature, charges unknown and time that the PC will be placed under the maximum load are taken into account at the recommendation of minimum power supply is indicated.

I have not seen a power of 500 watts with 12v rating of 18A, but this does not mean that there is not. And if that's the case, then the total power rating is suspect. A video card that requires an external auxiliary power connector will also draw power from the PCI-E slot.

Are there cases where the minimum size of the power supply is insufficient? Yes, those who might be extreme but someone can have connected to power different connectors either to avoid buying a new power supply or maybe around just the food manufacturer minimum power rating. Some may do it thinking 'I'm going on fox the Fox ". It can work, but maybe the questions later start occurred.  I prefer to get the job done right the first time. You don't need a power supply to perhaps of overload and short circuit then internally causing spikes to the components in the PC.

I found a free location of MINI_CARD2 on the motherboard (see photo of atteched).

I don't buy or not this SSD.

    Thank you!

    Hi there @iliyas1985,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are looking for help for a potential installation of SSD.   I'm happy to help you with this.

Looking at HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, IPISB-NK (Lavaca3-SB)for your system, it has the following internal expansion slots:

Two PCI Express mini card Sockets (generation 2 speed)
A PCI Express MXM slot that takes care of a PCI Express x 16 graphics card (generation 2 speed)

So if you find an SSD, which is compatible with those you can try to use it, but it's never a guarantee that both devices will work together.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Upgrade Windows 7 to 8.1 Pro for HP Envy 810 - 145qe (J0X43AAR #ABA)

I just bought a HP Envy Phoenix 810-145qe which is preinstalled with Windows 7.  Specifically, I bought this system because it was faster than my old desktop processor and I could spend 24 GB memory to 32 gb that I did.

I went to the HP site and checked if this model has been tested by HP that came back had not been tested with Windows Pro 8.1.  Can someone tell me if I've stuck with Windows 7 on this new machine?  I really need to have Windows Pro 8.1 because I develop e-Learning programs that need to be tested in an environment Windows OS 8.1. Please notify.

    Hello

I don't see a problem with the installation of Windows Pro 8.1 on the 810-145 envy.  HP has released drivers for Windows 8.1. There is little difference between Windows 8.1 and Windows Pro 8.1.

    1. Check with the manufacturers of your application to make sure that you don't have a problem with Windows 8.1
    2. Run Microsoft Windows 8 upgrade assistant
    3. Don't forget to create the external HP recovery media.
    4. Back up your data and also download drivers HP Windows 8.1 posted on external media.
    5. Buy licensed Windows 8.1 and download Microsoft support.  The Microsoft download process will allow you to create a bootable USB flash drive or an optical medium.  I would recommend that you download the ISO support and then create the desired boot media.
    6. Follow these instructions from Microsoftto install Windows 8.1.
