HP Envy M5L32EA #ABU: upgrade to SSD with two drives?

Hello

I want to improve my laptop to SSD. I read that my laptop has the facility for two hard disks. Anyone know if this is accurate, and if yes, what is the best way to migrate the operating system to the new SSD?

Thank you.

I use the Samsung 850 Evo. Best consumer SSD on the market, although that tends to cost a bit of a bonus. The extra bucks for the 'Pro' model is not worth in my opinion. The consumer SSDS are fast enough.

OCZ, Sandisk, Kingston all also make good SSD which tend to be cut further.

  • How to upgrade a shift with two independent loops while register?

Hello everyone, I have a panel with two clusters with indicators control... a left and a right. I have messages from serial port, and I'm currently updating the left and the right within their own while loops. I have a single variable, which must be updated based on updates on both sides. Basically, I need follow the last selection update on each side... If I had 1, 2 and 4 on the left side and 3 on the right side... I would need to follow 4 was the latest updated the register shift variable for uses more in my vi. Can someone give me an idea how to upgrade this a variable based on two while loops that run independently in the same sequence context? Thanks in advance, cayenne

Thank you both of you for the suggestion.

I managed to find a way to get the values that I needed without EI... but I read the link to the Nugget in their subject, and I can't expect a use for them in the future.

  • 6 - 1014NR envy: HP Envy 6 - 1014 upgrade to SSD prompting the Installation Windows disc

This laptop was purchased with a Windows 7 OS pre-installed.  A year ago, I took advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10.  No problem and so far so good.

Today, I decided to upgrade my factory HDD to SSD performance.   I clone the drive HARD integer using Macrium Reflect and he went ase expected.

After passing on hard drives and cranking up the SSD, I am taken to the Windows Boot Manager screen.  It recognizes that I have a hardware change (HDD-> SDS) and he suggested that I demarrer start with Instalation of Windows disk, select language and next, before choosing the repair option.  How can I solve this problem I never got a Windows Setup disc (without CD player on this model)?

In the Windows Boot Manager, there is a following screen to select an operating system.  Although I can see the Windows 10 option, after you have selected the option I need just to return to the Windows Boot Manager screen.

You can provide any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    You are the very welcome.

Unfortunately, I do not know what W10 gives you the repair options.

If there is a command line option, you can try running the repair options listed in the link below.

They are for W7, but maybe W10 uses the same commands.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/927392

I would not invest too much time in the repair installation, because you will probably be able to clean install W10 and install all your programs and files in less time it will take to understand the problem (if you can).

  • New model: HP Envy 15 t Upgrade HD SSD or mSATA SSD?

    Hi all

I read several threads on the upgrade of the disk for SSD and it seems that everyone else has managed to do.  My question is, is there an advantage to upgrade to an SSD HARD drive or simply add in mSATA SSD?  I currently have a network drive that contains most of my data such as music, photos and videos, so I don't think that I need more capacity on my hard drive.  That being said, I had planned on buying an SSD of 256 / 240GB, it's just a question of which one get? a regular SSD or mSATA SSD?  Thoughts?  Comments?  Concerns?

    Mike Lee

on a side note: I envy 15 new t... I really wish that they would have changed the name of the template to something completely different because the prefix is the same as their old model... stupid...

Get a 2.5 inch SATA SSD ordinary. Very slightly slower than a WSSD but still much faster than anything else. Try to configure the WSSD as boot drive is a huge problem.

  • Can I upgrade to SSD with Compaq Presario V3000? If so, how to activate the AHCI?

I have an old compaq presario v3000. The hard drive failed and I would like to upgrade to an SSD if possible in the hope of improving performance. My laptop does support an ssd? Also, I read on a ssd that bios have an option to enable the AHCI? I don't think my bios has this option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

The service guide shows only 2 GB maximum memory installed.

SATA IDE to AHCI passing via regedits

For safety reasons make registry changes by hand instead of download the script.

  • HP Envy 750-229: upgrade to SSD

Can I clone the orginal factory a Crucial SSD of 275 GB HD installed, use the SSD as drive and keep the original HD as a secondary drive?  My 750-229 want is new and no other program except Norton IS not installed. I would be grateful if the cloning instructions and installation are recommended.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. how to shrink C:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=tJiakVgAtn4

    2. you can clone D: but it will not work after replacing the main HARD drive that why we need 1 TB. As mentioned earlier, you can create recovery (DVD or USB) set. In your case, 275 GB is simply too small and the system will stop.

3 use the original HD as secondary drive: no problem at all, after getting the system with SSD operating condition. You can do what you like with the old HDD.

    Kind regards.

  • Envy 15-j028tx: upgrade to SSD

    Hello

I want to upgrade my laptop to the SSD, and I need to know if there is any limitation on the capacity of the SSD for my laptop or I can just buy any capacity SSD and install it.

    Thank you

The only limit is your budget. In practice, 1 TB SSD is also great that you can find and one who works perfectly. Just trade in the hard drive.

    Your repair manuals

    See p. 47.

You might also need to drive solid state WSSD. If you install an SSD in place regular size and the regular HDD place you won't have the MSSD. Post back if you have any other questions.

  • Intend to upgrade HARD + SSD Macbook Pro drive end 2011

Hope you guys can help me with this simple question (if any):

I plan go my Macbook Pro 13 inch end of 2011 this system of 'double disc' using the current HARD drive and a new SSD. I use OS X El Capitan.
My plan is to take all my important files on the current 500 GB external HARD Drive USB drive and delete EVERYTHING ELSE. There is no problem.

Then I open the computer, remove the HARD drive and the optical drive. I'll replace it with my new MAIN hard drive SSD HARD drive and put the HARD drive in courses where the optical drive was (with an adapter to fit) to be a 'secondary drive' where I store my photos, movies, videos, etc.

When everything is back in place, my question is: if I turn on my MBP with cmd + R pushed down, the normal OS X Utilities screen will appear and I would like to reinstall OS X for this new SSD?

Why not let the operating system installed on the HARD disk, since that will give you a backup of boot problems disk? As long as you clear the Macintosh HD partition and not the HARD whole, the volume of recovery disk should remain intact and usable.

  • Envy 17 t N100 CTO: work with two disks

    Hello

I have a double drive C:\ 256 GB SSD and D:\ 1 TB HARD DRIVE.  In Windows 10 settings > system > backup , I changed and sauvΘs D:\ of the folders in the library.  In ' this PC "user folder, I just changed to D:\ except homelessness and research.»

I do join C:\ to D:\ on all displaced records?

Then downloads, Documents, music, pictures, videos, etc.  go to D:\ the storage drive?

Also in settings > system > applications and features > I can't change or change all the Apps installed to D:\

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Few things on the side of Noob with discs.

    Thank you

    John

Leaving the SSD data at the disk folders will have no noticeable effect on performance.

The same applies to the settings, since these are relatively small files.

Performance problems start when people want to move like ProgramData folders, Program Files folder (including the x 86)) and others on the HARD drive.  Those that are accessible when the apps for launch and if you move those on the HARD disc, on all that remains on the SDS are the Windows system files - which is OK, as long as you don't plan on running any appps.

I have downloads on the HARD drive, because you want to have plenty of space for this, and will not affect the performance of your applications to run.

    Good luck

  • Installation of the Adobe software with two drives.

    Hey guys,.

I am quite new to all the creative aspect of Adobe and all cloud recently decided to buy Illustrator CC. My computer is running two separate hard drives, SSD (120 GB) which runs as C: drive that works my OS. And a (2 TB) HARD disk, which stores all the data of my loose to save space on the D: drive. As I said, I bought Illustrator and downloaded on my computer with no problems and it is automatically installed on my D: drive. I tried to run but a mistake came say Adobe Application Manager was either missing or damaged, so I tried a reinstall and placed him on the D: drive. It worked, but when I launched the app, it came up saying "update... "and the completed tab shut and disappear and nothing else would be open. I tried opening HERE and the same error came. I realized, then, that the application of CC (which is installed with Amnesty International) was located on the C: drive somehow and I am unable to move due to a file that runs in the folder. It appears in the taskbar, but the icon is grayed out and when I click on the application with a gray icon spinning there constantly and it attempts to open several times that turns into a chore using my other programs. I have exhausted my own efforts to understand what the problem is and because of the amount of money I spent on this software, I would be very grateful as soon I can really use it.

    Thank you!

So, after a few hours with online help, we managed to understand that my directories have messed up in the registry. After changing the locations to the C: drive we reinstalled creative cloud and it worked perfectly.

  • HP Envy 13-d001no: upgrade SSD on a new HP Envy 13 m2

    Hello!

I just got my HP Envy 13-d001no. As I expected I really enjoy them until now, but I am interested the upgrade to a faster SSD with more storage on this subject. I'm looking at two different drives, namely the Samsung 850 EVO m2 and the Samsung PRO 950 m2. Both drives are m2 (2280) form factor, but they differ in that the EVO 850 uses a SATA 6.0 Gbit/s-interface while the PRO 950 has a PCIe interface.

I am not fully aware of the differences between these interfaces. I know that PCIe allows faster speeds, but they are both compatible with the new HP Envy 13? I find anywhere which interface is the exact shape of the SSD factor currently installed and I don't want to take the risk of buying a new drive only for him is not to adapt or not to work on the laptop.

According to the HP ENVY laptop (model numbers used: 13-d000 through 13-d099)-Maintenance and Service Guide of, this model supports the following:

    SSD drive
    Serial ATA M2 storage
Support for the following SSD drive configurations:
512 MB M2, SATA-3, support triple cell level (TLC)
    256 MB M2, SATA-3, support the TLC
    128 MB, M2, SATA-3, support the TLC
    128 MB, M2.2280, SATA-3

On this basis, it would seem that the Samsung 850 EVO m2 is the correct upgrade for your computer.

  • HP envy 14-2090eo: activate the ahci with new ssd on hp envy 14-2090eo

    Hi Hp experts...

I just ordered a Samsung 850 evo 500 GB ssd, replace the drive hard seagate 750 GB original in my HP Envy 14-2090eo. I then took a peek in the Device Manager and found that when I click the menu ATA/ATAPI IDE controller, it shows a new field saying: Intel(r) Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller. Does this mean that AHCI is enabled automatically when I install the Samsung 850 evo 500 GB ssd? Its because I don't have any options the normally settings in the BIOS to change to AHCI mode and then he hit me maybe its on automatically, or what I have to do to switch to AHCI mode, which I have heard is the best setting when installing SSD´s...

    Best regards to all

    Hello:

Yes, he does.  AHCI is enabled and cannot be changed.

I replace the HDD with a SSD.

This laptop is able to run an SSD, with its limited processor AMD and BIOS?

    If so, any recommendations?

OCZ also have good records but one you mentioned is a SATA III a. You never get the full speed of SATA III, but this should work as a SATA II drive...
