HP ENVY m6 Noteb: hp recovery partition

How to upgrade my hp restore partition?

recently, I have windows 8 and the recovery on my laptop is also 8.

every time I updrage my laptop at 10 and accused of some of the problems I have restore my laptop so I'll be back 8

so, how do I update my recovery of hp so when ever I restore my laptop so I won't be back 10 8

Hello

Unfortunately, the real HP recovery Partition can not be updated, and cannot be used to reinstall the OS that originally shipped with the machine - which is in accordance with Microsofts oem T & Cs.

However, as long as your upgrade to Windows 10 has previously activated Ok, you can perform a new installation of Windows 10 as stated in the guide on the following link.

When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

  • HP Envy 15 notebook PC: recovery Partition HP after the passage of Win8.1 to win 10

I've recently updated to Win8.1 (original factory-installed) to win 10.

Everything seems to work very well (a few bugs here and there, but nothing major).

My question is about the factory recovery partition

I studied the forums and it seems that if I used Recovery Manager to recover, he would recover back to Win8.1, not the current installation of Win10

    (1) can you please confirm that the HP recovery partition / recovery manager will recover only to Win8.1 and has been upgraded not so?

    (2) how can I get a recovery to redeem to Win 10?

-is the Recovery Manager / partition "stretchy"?

-Should I do new media recovery (should I use Recovery Manager, or who would do only Win8.1 media)?

    - or should I use https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    (3) every time I do the recovery media Win10, so I can delete my restore partition? (using Recovery Manager option to do this)

My computer is still under warranty

    Thank you

    1. Once installed the old partition recovery W8-W10 no longer works without some fiddling with serious.

2A. There is recovery for W10 built into the operating system, type 'Settings' in the search bar, and then view the settings, then click on "Recovery" tab, this is where you can do a reset for W10.

More information about reinitialization, see link below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-10/repair-recovery

2B. the recovery partition can be updated to W10 but requires a lot of geek who can't be mentioned here and definitely not worth the time and effort.

You already have your recovery W8 media while W8 was still installed?

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Envy Phoenix 810-000ec PC with Windows 8 x 64 pre installed. After I received it, I ugraded to 8.1 Windows x 64 and installed all necessary updates. But when you try to create a recovery disk I accidently deleted the entire recovery of the bootable SSD partition. Is it possible to undo these changes in return? As I have now a 13.5 GB unallocated disk SSD 120 GB of disk space.

I tried to google the question a bit and I managed to recover the partition lost with - MiniTool Partition Recovery. So my problem is solved now. Thanks for the reply anyway.

  • HP Envy 15 JI22TX I7-4700NQ: Delete recovery Partition

@GayanW: sounds like the hard drive died suddenly on you - which occurs.

Once you can do is try to make a hard drive from the BIOS test.  The instructions are at the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

After back here with the results of the tests.

IF this confirms that the hard drive is dead, then you must do the following:

    (1) replace the hard drive

    (2) order the HP recovery media

    (3) reinstall from the recovery media

  • HP Envy Pheonix - move or delete the recovery partition

I just bought a HP Envy Pheonix 800 and there a 120 GB ssd for the OS.  Ago a second partition that is for recovery that is as I wish to move or to get rid of so that I can have the other space available for files such as 120 GB can fill up pretty fast.

If I create a defined backup drive I'll be able to get rid of this partition and it is part of c:?

Or can the partition be moved safely to the other HD without any problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Marc

    Hello

As long as you create your recovery media set - see link below-, so it should be no problem deleting the partition (moving it usually breaks its functionality).  If you need to use the recovery media to perform a 'factory Reset', this process will reinstall the OS and recreate all of the original scores, including recovery D.

Create recovery media - Windows 8.

About the removal of the recovery partition, you can often do this through the application Recovery Manager as shown in the HP document on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810279

If this option is not available, you can simply delete the recovery Partition using Windows Disk Manager and extend c in the unallocated space.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix h9 - 1420t CTO D: Recovery Partition corrupted

My recovery partition was damaged.  All I see on drive D [the factory recovery image] is a folder named "Recovery". In is only one visible - about 300 MB - file named "winre.wim". I am in desperate need of recovery disc for my PC. Are they all available? If not, what are my options? My system doesn't seem to work correctly using a disc retail Microsoft Windows 8 - for example, I can't download Net Framework 3, affecting many programs, including my attempt to download the HP Support Assistant. Thank you.

This system was purchased in 2013 - with Windows 8. Still under warranty, but I wouldn't she be returned to HP, if I can do it myself.

Repeatedly press the F11 key at startup, it gets you to the Recovery Manager and he will restore?

Otherwise, you could create and download an ISO of Windows 8.1 to reinstall Windows.  If will not have the HP software however.

    Hello

No cancellation available unless you have a disk image.

You need to reinstall the operating system using HP recovery disks to get the Recovery_Partition (D).

He did to Win 10? You may be able to return to the old operating system on schedule as the 'old BONES' is still on your HARD drive.

  • HP Envy 15t: 8.1 Windows Installer Clean in the hard drive model GPT without losing the RECOVERY partition

Always I try to format my windows partition, I get the following error:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is the GPT partition style.

So I'd like a clean install of Windows 8.1 without changing the style of hard drive or in bulk my RECOVERY partition.

OBS.: I just can I perform boot after you disable UEFI and Secure Boot.

    @lucasc ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  You will not be able to do it without damaging the recovery partition.  If you want to do a fresh install on your system, use the system recovery.

If this isn't the case, you will install the operating system of your choice.  So before you send that the laptop came with the operating system, and you supported drivers for the operating system you want to install.

If this isn't the case, you will not be able to find in driver support and you end up with hardware problems.  The drivers are built for laptop based on the OS that it was released with and they are owners.

I hope this helps.  Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Reduction in size of Envy 4, Windows 7 recovery disc

    Hello

The product is a HP Envy 4-1015dx. My recovery disk is almost full (2.9 GB left of 19.3 GB).  I am concerned about the problems that arise when the remaining space is used. Is there a way to 'clean up' so that more space is available?

    Thank you

Check that the protection system does not have system restore image files of control point of the recovery itself partition. This is what is usually the cause of a recovery partition filling. He shoiuld always the same size when you received it.  The following image shows how it should be correctly setup.

There should be no other files as seen in the following image.

If the data in the recovery Partition has been deleted, the only way you can fix this should return the laptop is "Factory Condition" with a set of recovery disks. Before you begin this process, I will ask you for good want to back up your data because the data will be lost and cannot be recovered.

  • Problem with recovery Partition(After i got a Virus)

    Hi all

I use HP Envy 15 laptop with windows 7 Home premium x 64 bit installed. I don't create the recovery discs since I've had this laptop and what happened is that I had a virus on the internet but I have fixed almost all the defects of the system caused by the latter, but the main problem for me, is that it changes all the Player main file name in Virus1232 for example (d:\recovery converted d:\virus1234) and I spent hours on the internet for the names of folders and files right and I got them all but only a single file, not sure. My problem is when I enter the Recovery Manager it detects none my recovery partition (but the virus is not responsible for any deletion of file it just caused some change system) and just to talk I've also corrected the names of folders and files in the c: drive, since they are necessary also.

What are the names of files I got in the D: drive: bootmgr - BT_HP.flg - CSP. DAT - DeployRp.log - HPSF_Rep.txt - language.ini. and let him file name is the one im not sure of: "HP_WSD.dat" (it's a file of size zero).

    The recoverymgrdump.txt just works & "leaving CSBRMgr::GetRPTOOLPartIndex!
    then he said to me:

"Win32 System Info Code = 3, Message Info = the system does not have the specified path."

    and he also said:

    "CSBRMgr::HpcdFlgIsExistInUP : \WINDOWS\hpdrcu.prc does not exist."

I don't know if this is normal, but also the deployrp.log gives me this error:

"The package does not exist: c:\RM\Tools\DeployRp\WinPE_LangPacks\64\winpe-setup.cab.

of course there are errors more in both files, but I guess that those who are the most important.

So my question is: the attributes of file in the d: drive would be responsible for this error (I changed all the attributes to be hidden and read-only system)

    OR

If anyone has a solution please tell me what to do.

    Thank you.

  • recovery partition options

Hi all I just got my new hp envy 15 and I love so far.

I was about to replicate my old hdd straight on this one, but decided to slow down and look for alternatives, due in part to the fact it is win8.

    My desire has a 1 TB harddrive that has 2 partitions... 1 / 2 and C: / D: Recovery.

My old hdd is also a 1 TB with 2 partition drive... 1 / 2 and C: / D: which is my drive "Archie".

I have a few questions about what is the best way to proceed from here...

If I can reconfigure my new hard drive to have 3 partitions BUT re letter to the "recovery" partition for example 1 / c: = c: 2 / D: would still be my archives and G: would become the new drive letter for my recovery partition.

I'd better create a recovery USB and then replicating my player current EG: 1 / C: = C: and D would still be my archives.

With option 2 what size USB would be needed for the recovery media? 4G, 8G or 16G?

I'm also surprised by the lack of sticker oem on the background of this laptop as in other versions of windows I had, where the (instant) requirement of a 'recovery' media to have a copy of 'work' of Win8 must be able to relocate at some point in the future.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards Wayne

    Hi Crewzar,

You are right when you say that Microsoft has made some changes to the WET to the point Windows 8.1.

Here is a 'For Dummies' article that highlights the most important changes.    11 major changes in windows 8.1

Please take note of the section on the WET is weakened to the point Windows 8.1.  After reading the article, you can import your old files.

When I checked on a windows 8.1 and opened the wet, the first screen informed me that it could be done from Windows 7.  You need to put your original drive in an external enclosure and connect it with a USB cable, or copy it to an existing external drive.

Once which was finished, WET should be able to transfer your files from outside on the internal drive of the laptop.

Please let me know how it works for you.

I have the following computer: HP ENVY h8 desktop PC - 1437c.  I used the HP Recovery application to do a recovery on a flash drive disk. How can I get rid of this partition and recover lost space using it now on my hard drive. Windows and HP did not want to provide more records with their computers, but they do not have a problem of screwing of MY hard drive that I bought and paid for. I should start to charge rent for the space.

I just used the software and created another partition as drive D using all unallocated space. I can delete probably once again, or maybe I'll just use it as a storage device for my files instead of recovering files sofetware... Thanks for the help
