HP Envy m7-j120dx screen issues.

I just bought this a little over a month and today I noticed a black spot on the screen, it won't go away. Interesting what happened three days during the return policy. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate if you could help.

I thank you very much.

  • HP envy m7-j120dx what ram, ssd drive will work for the upgrade.

HP envy m7-j120dx. I would add a ssd and ram to the complete 16gig. any suggestions on what is my best bet for each of these products. No matter who else makes these? I looked online and can barely find anything about these except for comments.

It's because it's so new. Here is the Service Manual:

The memory is SO-DIMM DDR3L-1600. The 'L' is important. 1.35 volts not 1.5 volt.

There is the memory you need at the highest and also a decent SSD. In order to give the best advice that I need to know your SSD budget. We can also help with migration/installation of the software. Keep the existing as a second disk drive and use the SSD for a boot drive. If you need the second cart/cable drive we can connect to that, too.

  • HP Envy 6z-1000 screen and bezel problem

    Hello

I bought my HP Envy 6z-1000 in October 2012. Since almost two years, I managed to avoid a fall or scratch, and performed reasonably well - apart from overheating, the weird sticky key and this strange feature that whenever I stop, it seems to insist the program is on and I have to force to close...

In any case, I just opened the lid of the laptop and heard a disturbing cracking-click sound. Somehow the lower right corner of the bezel take the case and screen together, right side of the hinge, jumped out. I can pop back together again between my fingers, but there not together, jumping out again whenever I open and close the lid.

How this issue contain them? What should I do?

    Thank you

    Charles

  • Start-up and white screen issue after updating to v10.11.5?

I can't say 100% that my problems are related to the last update, but I thought I'd ask.

I've updated about 4 or 5 days ago, and although the questions did not begin immediately, they start after the update. It should be noted that I have never had issues like this before.

Here are some of my questions on my MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011), 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB at 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD 3000 512 MB graphics card

    1. the monitor will sometimes go haywire and a strange split, screen where the mouse can go to the left side of the screen and reappear on the right side of the screen, because the office is now split into two

    2. computer crashes and the monitor starts flashing to show a blue zigzag striped background

3 freeze during startup and never restart computer. Occasionally, it will start very well, but the computer locks upwards at some point while using

4 computer at boot flashing out to a white screen then restart never

    Thanks for any help.

Now I'm starting to think my problems are related to a single user, sign in. Only 2 people use the computer and my connection seems to be fine. No crashes or anything like that.

The problems start when my wife logs in to his user account.

    Thought I would mention it.

    Any help/response would be appreciated.

  • 17 3200 envy: Envy 17 3200 screen flickers and dies. External monitor works. (Video included)

Hi, I bought my laptop about two years ago. A few days ago the screen suddenly dies, and at startup, it flashes several times with the correct display, but then turns off. The backlight seems to stay on. When I use an external monitor with HDMI port, the external monitor works fine, however, the laptop screen remains empty. Here's a video of what it looks like when I first boot the laptop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmro4P1NmyY & feature = youtu.be , how can I do to fix this problem? Thanks, Wes

    @Saichotic ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forum.  It is somewhat a problem when it comes to laptops that comes up from time to time.

The reason is there is a cable connected to the motherboard that goes back through the hinge area and connects to an inverter that powers the monitor.

Once the cable wears out, but more often just to move General around get you a loos to the inverter or the motherboard connection.

Here is a link to your Maintenance and service guide. You can use this to help pull the cable and inspect the connections.

Here is a video that will show you how essentially happen to things as well to test and check the cable.

  • HP Envy 17 white screen

    Hello

When I turn on my HP Envy 17 3070NR the screen is bright white.  I can connect to another screen.  I think that perhaps the cable Ribbon connecting the screen to the laptop is loose, based on this youtube:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=u3rlnuAfGzY

There is also this youtube how to eliminate a similar screen:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=xeUs8ojYNwI

However, I think that my model is slightly different.  I ago as manual service document to remove the screen somewhere?

    TIA,

    OLE

    Hello

Thank you for your help.  I'll probably end up doing more harm than good in order to achieve the display cable, so I'll probably just use the machine as a "Macbook Mini".

    Thanks again,

  • Y510P screen issue - stain dark corner

    Hey all,.

Ordered and received a Lenovo Y510P a few days ago. Very happy with the performance, air, etc. However, I noticed the following thing that seems to keep annoying me.

In the angle of direction, there is a kind of small dark spot when compared to the rest of the screen. A kind of inverted backlight bleeding. This is basically when you sit directly in front of the screen (angle of view). When I look straight at him, he's gone.

However, it is noticeable on a light background (white). But as browsers like Chrome and IE have those bright horizons / bars, I keep getting annoyed by it, especially since it's a new purchase.

Any recommendations on what to do or do I just have to accept it? I know that LCDs aren't 100% perfect, you will always have some kind of issues (backlight bleeding, visualization of angles etc.).

    Kind regards!

    I contacted the store and their response was;

Flaws unacceptable, please send back and you will receive a new product.

    Excellent service!

  • Upgrade of the HP ENVY 15-J101TU screen

Hi I was just wondering if I can improve my current screen resolution of HD WXGA (1366 x 768) to full HD WUXGA (1920 x 1080)? They are currently on screens this resolution for this particular model while they are ineterchangeable? Is also my compatible with higher resolution graphics card?

    Hi @Jonny00

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

In response to your question, the parts and components listed in PC portable HP ENVY 15 and HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide are all components that are supported for this laptop, and if yes, you can install this Panel.

Normally the resolutions available on a computer are the combination of the drivers caught in charge card and the screen and most often display is the limiting factor. Since it is an available part, all its resolutions would be supported by the drivers included on the support page for this laptop.

    I hope this helps.

  • ENVY 17 black screen

I have ENVY 17 laptop that will not start.  The screen is black, although I hear the fan and hard drive.   No action display - no message installation, no logo.   I tried the following:

-connected to an external monitor to check that the monitor is not bad.

-give to each of the memory chips

-exit the scratched disks and tested separately - each

try-a the system reset by pressing the power button for 15 seconds

Nothing positive in all this.  It seems that the motherboard must replace.  Can I do this?

    Thank you

If the disks are out and Ultimate Boot USB shows no sign of life, I can image that it is the motherboard. I have eliminated the monitor using an external monitor. I have eliminated the possibility of a defective memory chip trying to start with a single. Of course, these two circuits can be bad. The replacement of the motherboard can be done at home?

Looks like something on the ATV (maybe vga) is defective. If the vga works not just what external monitor will not work in all cases. My guess is a bad vga. The only thing you can do is to replace the ATV. How old is the lappy?
