HP Envy Phoenix 810-160: hard drive crash?

Hello

My desktop computer has been acting lately. Before start time allows to be very fast, but now is the time to start take much more time. Then when I want to start the computer, it looks like not detected media presence and try to start on the network. I looked online and saw that a solution to this was to rearrange the order of startup, so I made sure that windows boot Manager was the first and followed the online instructions to disable startup by network. Now when I try to start, I get a screen that says don't: no operating system installed on the hard disk. I then ran a test drive that has no hard drive. Then I restarted the test and drive past. So my best option to replace the hard drive? In this case it is the disc ssd of 16 GB to be replaced or the 1 TB hard drive?

Thanks for your help

@New_Guy1, welcome to the forum.

It would be your primary hard drive (HDD) that needs to be replaced.  The SSD is simply used as a cache for the HARD drive.  You should consider to replace the HDD with a SSD.  The increase in performance is amazing.

I have a HP 860-170vr Gaming ready desktop computer.  It came with a HARD drive installed.  When first started, I couldn't believe how slow it started.  I installed a Samsung EVO 840 500 GB SSD, I had bought earlier.  It made a world of difference.  If you buy a HARD drive, it should be the same size or larger than the one replaced.  This is to ensure that the Recovery media will work.

If you decide to go with a SSD I suggest Samsung.  They seem to work best with the HP BIOS.  I'll be happy to tell you the best way to install it.

A few weeks ago, I got the BSOD and could only reformat without saving. After a data recovery service ravaged my hard drive, I bought a new drive. My recovery disk is not found (my guess is the woman she pitched in one of his fits of cleaning). Of course, I have to re - install the operating system and bought Win10 home.

I plugged the USB and started the installation, but now get a message that no driver device were found. It is a pain, but it makes sense. Went to the website of HP drivers on your laptop and downloaded all the drivers, it produces for my specific model.

    Hello:

Make sure that you dΘmarrez from a USB 2 port.

You will not be able to install Windows from a port USB3.

If you have the W10 installation media in a USB 2 port, windows can you are looking for the sata controller driver, so see if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second listed file - 1 file listed (64-bit).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25165/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without all records.

With the flash player and the installation media W10 plugged into the machine, boot from the W10 installation media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope, W10 will install.

    Hello

first of all, I must say that your pc, fortunately, supports UEFI so that this card should not be a problem

However for the card to work or to initialize with the pc, you need to maybe disable secure boot and go to the support of legacy. (this is what you need to know about what you heard on legacy mode)

If I can guide you through this, for details and graphics during this visit the hp support page on the bios settings

as for the question of the guarantee... If you are still IN the warranty period, opening manually to the top of the Cabinet would mean breaking the seal at the bottom of the pc... only the limited warranty of hp then apply... spend your license information and warranty before doing this...

come to the 'best' part... it is an adjective and depends on your perception of and how much you can spend in the pursuit of it...

a solution of 2 gtx in sli/crossfire mode 970 would be as powerful, if not a little more of the x... purpose of titan that would need a power 750 w... once again, the 980 is better that the 970 by a large margin, but nearly twice the price... a 600w will be enough for either, although

    > I prefer NOT having to go back to 8.1 earn and have buy Windows 10 to get back to where I am now.

Because Windows 10 is installed on your computer, Microsoft has a "fingerprint" of your hardware,

who gives you the right to re - install Windows 10 without having to buy a product key.

    > Is it possible to 'redo' recovery discs now so that any future recovery back me to Windows 10?

Yes.  Or, if you have an empty 8GB USB - memory stick, you can write a copy of Windows 10 to it.

    See: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

for a free download of Windows 10.

When using this media, click on 'I don't have a product key' and the 'right' will allow you to continue with the installation.

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver update for HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop computer, during a performance of the construction in the auditor of updates to HP program that it is announcing the following update available for my machine and I was wondering if there were more details about what he actually did and/or updates/patches?

    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

    Description
This package provides the driver for Intel Chipset SATA RAID solutions and SATA AHCI Controller in models supported that are running a supported operating system.

    Communicate details
    Exit the: 2014-01-23
    File name:sp65114.exe [1/1, 17.92 M]
    A Version12.8.2.1000 Rev.
    Compatibility:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Fix/development
    -Provides original drivers

As you can see the description of correction and improvement really provided no details as to what is fixed or improved.

If I need to apply this patch, it would be nice to understand a little better what to expect and what is fixed and/or improvements.  You have to forgive me because I'm old school and I usually generally follow the routine "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  I'll do what it takes well so I have a better understanding of what is going to happen in the case where updating mess something inadvertently.

    Thank you

    JCOOPER2

    Hello:

What is the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology software.

    http://www.Intel.com/support/chipsets/IMSM/sb/CS-020784.htm

It is not necessary to install the update if you do not want.

I doubt you will notice a difference in performance if you have it installed.

It is unlikely that all the problems would result in the update (however could apply Murphy's law), but like you said... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

  • Envy 15 j126tx: Hard Drive crashed

Hi, my laptop's hard drive crashed, and I want to know if there is anyway I can get it back. In fact, my 'C' Partition (where the operating system has been installed) was running out of space, so I wanted to extend its size without interfering in anything else and I found on some site manager EaseUs partition can do this task, i.e. without deleting or re creation, it can resize partitions. So I downloaded Manager EaseUs partition and after installation, I tried to resize C, but it gave an error, it says something like the software was not compatible because it is software 32 bit, while I was running Windows 7 64-bit. I just gave up, assuming that this software is working 32 bit and with 64-bit custom. But when I hibernated my laptop, since he never turned on. It shows that there is no hard drive attatched.  I tried to check in the bios, diagnostic tool, but hard drive never showed up. Then I tried to Boot from a USB bootable (Windows 7 bootable USB), but in the section where I chose a player for windows, there is no drive. I tried to restore the repair option in the installer of Windows 7 too, but can't find any repair of the version of windows.

Can I fix my hard drive?

I fell off my hard drive permanently?

My hard drive cable is unplugged? In fact I can't verify it cause I would cancel my warranty otherwise.

P.S. I'm home, and I bought from another city, so I can't go to the dealer earlier!

In fact you will not affect the warranty, if you check the hard drive. See page 47 of the manual here:

    Manual

I think that the hard drive may be dead. The EaseUs couldn't do the invisible to BIOS hard disk or a Windows installation disc, but he could do no bootable hard disk by altering the partition table.

I remove the hard drive and try it in a usb to SATA adapter and see if it turns.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-445qe: specifications of need on 14.79 GB "Disk 1" labelled "Datadrive1 (e).

I spent the last few days setting up a brand new HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 445qe I ordered from HP.com. (Information system down in the case, it may be necessary.)

I did what all the new owners of the system should do after you set up the system: I did a DVD repair system, and am about to do my first image with Windows 7 (64 bit) backup.

Of course, when you perform an image backup (which is like making a photocopy of your hard drive to a point in time) you can not store this backup on the same drive you're imaging, for the obvious reason that you can not write to disk at the same time you are Imaging it. If the image backup dialog box gave me three options of storage location:

    (1) Datadrive1 (E)
    (2) WD MyBook external hard drive (G)
    (3) Blu - Ray / DVD / CD drive (F)

I was curious about the "Datadrive1" because I didn't know that's where! I don't me read something about it, then I went to control panel > system and security > ' Create and format hard disk partitions "(under administrative tools on the system menu and security - or the type of management of the computer in the Start Menu) to take a look at the drives and partitions.

This computer was said to come with a SATA 3 TB and because disk 0 is close to 3 TB, with a labeled 100 MB partition "EFI System Partition" a 2779,01 GB NTFS partition labeled "OS (C)" and an "HP RECOVERY (D)." 15,28 labeled GB NTFS partition So, there we have the bootloader partition, the partition of operating system Windows 7 and the HP recovery partition.

But there is also a 'disc 1' labeled 'DATADRIVE1 (E)"formatted as one 14.79 GB NTFS partition. I was surprised to see this data disc, because one of my complaints about HP computers in the past (or at least those available through Best Buy) was that they were always set up with one disc for the operating system and data. (It is always a bad idea to host your data on the same drive that your operating system, because the system disks get use more heavy and are more prone to failure.)

I recognized my Western Digital My Book 1 TB drive disc 2, entitled ' My Book (G) ' and formatted as a single partition NTFS of GB 931,48. It is the external drive only, I am informed, plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports.

So I called the support for questions on disk 1. Where is he? Is what kind of drive? Is what brand? Etc, etc. HP support officer did not know the answer to that! She told me that my system only comes with an internal hard drive and therefore that * must * be an external drive belonging to me. I have an external USB drive connected but it's G drive.

The only USB devices connected physically are: dongle USB wireless keyboard and mouse from HP; My WD My Book drive; and a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-One printer with nothing plugged into its card reader, who can't stand not anything on the order of 14.79 GB anyway.

I would like to know the details about this DATADRIVE1, because) I don't really know what it is and if I should write data there and b) do not know how stable the device is. Thanks in advance for your help.

Initially, I bought a PC with a FX-8320 and a little sad back in 2013 graphics card and bought a carepack with her. Once the graphics card has failed and has been replaced three times in a single year, I called HP support and a nice case manager (thank you Lorraine!) hooked me up with this one - a k 4770, 12 GB of RAM and a beautiful 270 r9. However, I'm not comfortable with the temperatures of the PC under load because there is only a single fan for all of your PC and it is blocked by water from Asetek 92 mm cooling for the CPU package.  So, I was looking to upgrade the PC as a whole around my birthday later this year. I had planned on keeping the CPU, GPU, RAM and 2 TB HDD, but I was left confused - the PC came with a 16GB mSATA 'Cache', and I know not whether or not the 2 TB of HARD drive or the mSATA drive has my Windows OS on it - if it has Windows, I'm having a few problems. A photo of two devices are here. Furthermore, I don't know how the CPU is. What you are wanting to do can work.  However, whenever you have high end components in a matter of smaller size, you will have problems with the HEAT.  You're right to worry.  Heat will cause all components to fail prematurely.  If you try to move the motherboard for another case, you must ensure that the holes in the match of the motherboard the accessory in the case.  In addition, some of the connectors cannot be the same as in a case of HP.  HP has their motherboards designed specifically for them.
