DVI-HDMI with AUDIO

I am trying to connect my new Pavilion p7-1240 to my HDTV but do not have a HDMI port on my new computer. After doing some research I'm to mix signals about whether or not a DVI to HDMI cable will carry audio. I just called Radio Shack and they are salesman told me that the AVIO HDMI to DVI cable carries the audio. However further research says that it is not.

I would appreciate another opinion if you please. Bewilderment of a seller a week is enough. Thank you!

Hello

1. the standard DVI carries only video, standard HDMI carries both video and audio.
2. DVI to HDMI converter adapter / (no need to convert) carries video only.
3. you need a cable to carry the audio from your laptop to your TV. They can sell a combined adapter, but it must get out of the 2 ports on your laptop: DVI port for video and headphones or line out audio port.

Kind regards.

  • SX20. HDMI with audio and video?

    Hello.
I have to integrate a SX20 codec with Extron HDMI matrix as the main source of video + audio.
The main HDMI input, support with audio video integrated?

    Thank you.

    Luis

We use the scalers Extron (DVS-605) to power the video (from several cameras in a provision of PiP) in our SX20s - however, we feed the audio through the mic connector.

We have not tried audio HDMI at all.  The cards say it should work, but there is another discussion (ie the SX20 - Audio HDMI camera) where he says it's a bug with the documentation (CSCuh72577).

The TC7 Administrator's Guide (Page 61) says that the HDMI Audio works that when using a camera with a built-in microphone Cisco, and, if you use any other device, the HDMI audio input will be disabled little matter however, you set the end point.

The CE8.0.x software has removed the option "Audio input HDMI Mode" completely (Page 8 of CE8 Administrator's Guide).

In short, I don't think you'll have some luck with your Extron HDMI audio, so you'll have to do as we did and feed your audio in via the microphone or the content entered.

  • Cannot get my Acer X223W monitor widescreen (DVI + HDMI with adapter Apple) to show anything.

    Separated from this thread.

    Yes two years late.

I went to the Acer site to try to find the updated drivers for my Acer x223w LCD monitor, but the only driver, they offered was for the 32-bit version of windows.  Where did you get the 64 bit version.

I'm having a similar problem where the display does not indicate a signal from a DVI - D port on my motherboard (Asus Z97 Pro (wifi) with a processor of 4790 K with HD 4600 video intel).  However, it will be a 'Digital' signal when I connect it with the same cable to a passive adapter plugged into the display port.

So I was looking for a solution to this strange cannot read a DVI - D signal for some reason any.  And Yes, all pilots are supposed to be updated.

    Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community. I will surely help you this question.

This problem could occur due to corrupted drivers.

I suggest you to check with the Acer support, if they have a driver updated 64-bit for Windows 8.

  • Toshiba L2333 TV - DVI-> HDMI - no sound

    Hello!

I have connected my PC via DVI-> HDMI cable to the L2333.
    It works very well.

However, how can I give audio to the TV via a my sound card output?
My PC does not provide any audio over HDMI.

I've tried the input SCART and the entrance (by component) audio cinch. No sound.

    Thank you!

    Thomas

DVI provides only the video signal. The HDMI port provides both: video and audio.
If you connect the TV to s for laptop DVI, audio port would not be transmitted.

I guess you need connect s headphones Jack card or the audio output jack to a receiver hifi (av) to get the best sound. Or another possibility to connect to the computer is the use of DVI adapter component. Then, you should be able connect the computers taken DVI Component of televisions. The audio signal would be transmitted from the headphone jack of the computer to the TV's component audio L / R

  • No sound on HDMI with ATI

I connect to my laptop via HDMI with my TV but I get no sound on HDMI. Why?

  • How to activate the HDMI on audio controller if it has been disabled

We connected our laptop to our plasma tv, but we were not getting healthy.  We have disabled by mistake the sound for the setting of the TV by mistake.  How it make now?  We would also like to be able to hear the sound of television through our HDMI cable as soon as we have the first problem solved.

    Hi Jorge,.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. did you try to connect to a different HDMI port and check if it works?

HDMI cables are supported, but not all, audio signals compatible HDMI video audio support cards. If your TV has an audio input, you might be able to connect an audio cable separated from the sound card of your computer directly to the TV. Otherwise, you need to connect the different audio signal to an output device, such as external speakers or your stereo. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

By default, Windows routes no sound on HDMI output. To change this to change the settings in the control panel.

Note: This will turn off sound from speakers or normal audio output on the laptop. To get that back, you will need to reverse this process.

    (a) press the Windows key + X
    (b) click on 'control panel '.
    (c) with the control to the "Control Panel Home" Panel, click on 'hardware and sound '.
    (d) where it says "Sound" in green letters, there are three options below that are blue, click on "manage Audio devices.
    (e) this will bring up a window titled "Sound".
    (f) on the tab 'Read' it has listed the sound options at your disposal. It should read "peripheral digital output (HDMI)" click on it.
    (g) should be now a checkmark on this option, make sure you HDMI Audio as default value.
    (h) the sound should play through your HDMI connections to the TV.

I hope this helps. If you have any other queries/issues related to Windows, write us and we will be happy to help you further.

  • Surface-mounted with audio synchronized PluralEyes

Hi - a bit of a newbie here... Please bear with me!

Yesterday, I shot a few videos with a shotgun microphone from rode to the taking of microphone in camera on a Canon HFG30 set to use the external microphone of cameras to record.  This was sent by hdmi to the NInjaBlade.  I also recorded separately on a Zoom H6 recorder using the XY microphone.

I used successfully PluralEyes to synchronize the audio tracks.

I have 90 minutes of recordings and want to create subitems/clips that I can move me around, intersperse with another content etc.

If PremPro subelements are the more useful approach, how can I get the synchronized sequence of master in the source window to create points of e/s that would allow me to create the subitems?  How can I associate the track synched Pluraleyes for the soundtrack of video/hdmi so that the IO brand clipping selects the external audio synched and includes it in the subitem?

Or maybe there is a better way all together... or a method step by step to achieve this.  I guess I could use the blade on the main sequence, but that seems rather destructive and could limit my ability to re - edit trim positions.

Any help/advice would be so appreciated.  Does anyone have a workflow that will allow them to share?

    Thank you very much

    Andrew

Since nobody has jumped in to offer any assistance, I thought that it would be useful to other newbies like me to share my last two days of effort to try to come up with a workable workflow.

So at the beginning, I got excited with the help of prelude to generate shorter clips that I knew that I would need the accumulated gross video.  So I opened each file in prelude, created for subitems along the timeline to match these areas, I want to save.  I then created a scripted, added the subelements, then exported the first edit to create a new folder of transcoded files.  Then, I took this clips folder and tried to sync it with the audio files using PluralEyes.

It does not, because a lot of my clips were short (less than 5 seconds) and this inhibits the algorithm of PluralEyes to be able to find exact matches.

    Back to the drawing board!

So I then synced all of the original video files (i.e. cut / edition) with the external audio using PluralEyes and it has exported to the output file standard .xml.

I imported it directly in PremierPro and he gave me a long unique sequence that was all spaced appropriately along the timeline.

Then the Epiphany... based on my knowledge of the use of assemblers of cinema to work!  The secret is to isolate and remove what you don't want, rather than trying to isolate and record what you want!  So, I went along the timeline creation of entry/exit points to cover the areas of junk.  And used the Extract tool to remove the unwanted stuff.  This resulted in a timeline of the individual clips with audio link internal and external to the video.  Because I didn't define the markes IO such as a few additional images were available at the beginning and end of each clip search, can I know enter each and refine the garnish on an image by image basis.

Wow I did it!  I don't know that there are other, perhaps better ways to do this (it seems that Prempro always offers several ways to get to something!)... .but this workflow works for me and I will continue to use it until I could better!

I hope it's a value for at least one other person there!

  • New in After Effects 13.8.1 - with audio shape layers!

I just wanted to share a little funny bug. the shape layer has no audio effect applied, and he still has an audio setting. It don't bother me much, although the last thing I need when I'm manipulating shape layers is another rocking to watch in the timeline panel

Here are the steps to reproduce the problem in my current workstation:

1 import audio into your composition - in my example, it was the WAV format. but you can add a solid layer with audio tone effect.

    2. put within a publication

3 pre model the master model (no matter if it's a holiday attributes or move attributes) and get inside the demo

    4. Add a shape layer

Here is my current workstation card:

This happens once I reset my preferences. Please share if you encounter this bug too.

    Roei, thank YOU.

We have received reports from several users on another problem, which we have not been able to reproduce: by clicking on the layer switches (solo, lock, motion blur, etc.) sometimes unnecessarily vortices open the properties of a layer.

It turns out that this problem is related to what you just posted on the redundant audio properties. The problem of the twirling property only occurs on these same layers.

The bug occurs when you work in a model that has been composed before and this model contains a layer with audio, when you add a new layer to this model (any type of layer except the cameras or lights), if this layer should not have audio it will win the audio properties in any case. When you click on a layer switch (for example, solo, lock, a blur of movement, etc.) these layers with redundant audio properties will be automatically twirl open their properties.

This bug started After Effects 13.8.0. There are still in 13.8.1. I have described it in our bugs database and ask so that it can be fixed in our next release.

The twirling of the property problem can't for layers that have real audio. for example, with audio images, or a solid with the effect of the tone. This does not happen for the layers without audio created before the bug conditions occur (computer pre composed containing a layer with audio).

I found a few solutions workaround for this problem.

The simplest solution is to add the effect of audio signal to the affected layers and then disable audio (the switch icon small speaker) for these layers. The problem only occurs on the layers that have no audio, so the addition and then cut audio takes layers on the bad state.

There is another, more cumbersome workaround that effectively eliminates the redundant audio properties:

    1. In the model problem, select all the layers having audio.
    2. Remove (temporarily, it gets canceled at step 5) these layers.
    3. Select all the remaining layers (or at least those with the redundant audio properties).
    4. Activate a switch layer for all selected layers, such as Solo or lock. Redundant audio properties will disappear.
    5. Cancel twice: once to cancel the toggling the layer switch and a 2nd time to undo the deletion of step 2.

Redundant audio properties won't return after the cancellation. Unfortunately, this only solves the problem for existing layers. Adding new layers will still get the attached redundant audio properties.

In any case, my thanks to you once again, Yang, to post the steps to repro the problem. That's the key for me to discover the cause of the problem, much more annoying.
