HP G56 122 - US graphic and CPU upgrade

Hello, almost two years ago now, I bought a HP G56 122-US, and that the games become more recent, it becomes more difficult to play games. I first bought so I could take it place and still play my games but now my CPU is too slow for some and my graphics card is good enough and barely less from where I have bad lag or framerate problems. So my question is can I replace my graphics card and my processor or not. If I can improve or another what should I look for information? I know that I can take my laptop outside and check if its welded on and learn for myself but I don't want to lose a screw or put something back wrong and not even be able to upgrade. In addition, there are about 20 screws on the bottom. Thanks in advance.

I recently got my hands on one of these laptops. It has a Pentium 960 b for the moment, but I searched for Intel i3 - 3110M or Intel i3 processor - 3130M CPU on eBay to replace the slower Pentium.

Both are IvyBridge, identical to the original and both have a TDP of 35W, which means that they should not belt any more heat it does (or at least no more than the fan can handle, because the fans are usually designed to be mass produced and used in many different laptops (, but the same form factor)

Someone had a bit of luck the upgrade of their CPU in Toshiba laptops? I guess I'm of the same generation of processor Intel should mean support BIOS already integrated into the planks of the BIOS...

I can tell you that a lot of people have been able to upgrade the processor in their notebooks of Toshiba but fact is simple as this upgrade isn't officially supported by laptop manufacturers and can be done at your own risk.
Generally the CPU upgrade depends on chipset and BIOS support.

The laptop supports the Mobile HM70 Express Chipset Intel - compatible and supported processors are Intel ARK page in compatible products section:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/67419/Intel-BD82HM70-PCH

To be honest I don't think that all compatible CPUS are but it s a good start point.

However, the BIOS must support also the new processor and maybe it's the thorny question since no one knows what are the processors supported by the BIOS because this information isn't out of nowhere.

Here's the product specifications for the HP Pavilion p6717me desktop PC.  Based on the specifications, there are 3 things that you could upgrade to improve the performance of your game (and global).  I have them listed in the recommended order.

1 update RAM: your unit comes with 4 GB of RAM, you should move it to 8, 12 or 16 total (16 GB MAX).

2 GPU (video card) update: I highly recommend the upgrade of your GPU.  You can get any PCI Express x 16 card which physically fits in the slot.  The only limitation here is your power supply (PSU) offering only 300W of power.  Most of the best graphics cards require a minimum of 450-500W of power.   The power supply is a standard ATX power supply, so you should be able to upgrade easily if you want to upgrade the video card.

3 update CPU: your device comes with an Intel i5 CPU and it could be upgraded to an i7 processor.  Models and information are listed in the connection of the plug above.

And what about CPU? The laptop comes with an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz on Intel i945PM chipset.

Thanks in advance for any information.

    Hello

I think that you should also check your RAM upgrades for user manuals. As far as I know that you can upgrade your laptop with 4 GB of RAM. Therefore, you can use DDR2-533 modules. You buy from an authorized service provider or Kingston modules also recommendable.

Upgrading the CPU is not supported. BIOS and motherboard are tested only with the preinstalled CPU.

How can I upgrade the 9700 M GTS and I use crossfire or SLI?

    Question 2:
What processor can I buy for my laptop?

    Thank you very much

It is not possible to upgrade the GPU, sorry and SLi for desktop computers, not for laptops.

The Qosmio X 300 supports Intel Dual and Quad Core CPU

Toshiba doesn't supports upgrades CPU or GPU.

I think that you should not pass the X 300. The Qosmio X 300 has enough power for all the work and games.

  • Re: Satellite M70-131 - RAM and CPU upgrade

    Hello, I have 2 questions:
1 is it possible to install more then 2048 MB RAM in M70 - 131. If someone tried this?
    2. is it possible to install the new processor of M70 - 131? Now, i've got Pentium M (750) 1, 86GHz (Dothan, 533 MHz). Can I install for example Pentium M (780) 2.26 GHz or higher?

    Hello

The M70 supports max 2 GB of RAM and upgrade the CPU is usually not possible and undesirable for different reasons.
In most cases the overheating is the main reason why you shouldn't t try to upgrade the processor. Secondly, the BIOS was not designed to handle the different processors and no one will be able to tell if your cell phone will work stable after an upgrade of the CPU.

  • HP Z400: map graphic and CPU recommendation for a HP Z400

OK so I bought a computer in a local thrift store for $ 30, I was able to boot into the shop to see this work before buy you, its a HP Z400 Workstation Desktop Xeon 3520 2.67 GHz 6 GB of RAM 240 GB drive HARD Windows 7. power supply stock of what I can say is, the power of 475 watts ok so I have 2 questions

#1 What is the best processor xeon tthat this PC can take charge and what version of bios that I support says CPU?

OK now the second question OK so I know this isn't a gaming machine I know its for tips of CAD and 3d but I need you guys to recommend me a decent game GPU that requires no external power and can run star trek online with decent settings not sure how many amps are on the rails of the PSU as I don't have the pc with me right now If cpu do you recommend and what gpu games do you recommend that I should not that id prefer a gpu nvidia on amd if possible, but as long as the card can operate star trek online everything is fine

    kurt459,

Go into the BIOS F10 setup and look at the date of start-up under system information block.

If the boot block date is 2009-01-30, the system supports only the Xeon processors at 35xx.

If the block start date is 11/10/2009, the system supports both the 35xx and 36xx Xeon processors.

If your system has the block to start later, you can install a 6 hearts Xeon 36xx, which will give you more performance.

If you have the older boot block, it is not possible to update to support the 36xx processors.  There are several discussions in this forum about attempts to update the boot block, but HP does not support and does not provide any tools to do so.

  • BIOS and CPU upgrade

I have a HP Pavilion P7-1222. It has a processor of Pentium G630. I consider that the upgrade to a processor I5-2400 s. My motherboard will accept this. The TDP of these two processors is 65W. My question is my bios will support this processor? My bios is FRIEND 7.19 - 02/04/2012.

I understand that you want to know whether the P7-1222 BIOS will support the I5-2400 s.

According to the specifications of the motherboard for sale listed by HP found here, the system will accept this processor.  Because the BIOS is on the motherboard, it must support for the motherboard to support.  However, I do not recommend updated BIOS for good measure, before any upgrade of the processor.

  • Pavilion g6 - 2217cl: the HP Pavilion g6 - 2217cl RAM and CPU/GPU upgrade

    Hey there, I am looking to upgrade the RAM and CPU/GPU on my G6 Pavilion. Here's my current characteristics;

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion G6 - 2217cl

    Operating system: Windows 10 family (x 64)

Current RAM: 6 GB (used 2 slots)

CPU/GPU: AMD A8 - 4500 APU with Radeon HD graphics card

What are the possibilities should I upgrade?

If more information is needed, I'll be happy to provide.

It supports up to 8 GB of memory and the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

There is no video card to upgrade, but for the models of series AMD A video is contained in the processor itself and an upgrade of the processor also carries with it an upgrade for HD 7640 G HD 7660 G video. It's light but a bit noticeable and clock speed go from 2.8 ghz to 3.2 ghz, which is not huge but noticeable. Memory is a DDR3-1600 module, and you can replace your 2 gig with a 4 gig to spend 6 to 8.

Memory upgrade is as easy as... CPU/APU don't upgrade not so much.

  • Satellite A100 - 495 (PSAA9) - CPU and GPU upgrade

    Hi all

    I have a few questions.
    I have a Satellite A100-495 with 2 GB of Ram, Core2Duo 1.83 GHz (2 x; T5600) and an NVIDIA Geforce 7600go.
I want to spend the CPU and the GPU. Is this possible?
I don't want to do. I am looking for a store (if possible in Germany) that can do this.

If its possible, what it costs? And what store can I speak?

If this is not possible-> why? It is fixed; It getting too hot?

What solution do I? I don't want to buy a new laptop.

    Kind regards
    Dave

Update CPU and GPU on laptop computers is complicated enough or is not possible. At first, I must say that GPU is part of the motherboard and graphics card can not be upgraded at all.

What about the CPU upgrade? Toshiba authorized service providers will not do that and the CPU upgrade is not supported. Few people on this forum have talked about CPU upgrade, but for me the risk is too high. All hardware components are adapted to the work well together and also to reduce the risk of damaging the material. The BIOS is also suitable for the specific hardware configuration. The values of the fans are also tested and there is no risk of overheating.

Change CPU, you will get no more powerful laptop. Modern processors are powerful enough and a few MHz more won't do anymore difference. What you can do is to increase the RAM to the maximum level - 4 GB. That s all what you should do and your laptop runs a lot faster.

Also be careful on the configuration of the operating system. This will also help make your laptop faster than before.

By the way: for operations you need more power? What you want to do with your laptop?

So I'm wanting to upgrade my computer and I can't find a clear answer, if when I install a new one, a motherboard and CPU, but with the same RAM and the hard drive and the motherboard did not fail, I need a new installation of windows?

If vista came preinatalled your computer, it is rated an oem license as such is related to the material that it is initially installed on

If you have a retail license, you can upgrade your card motherboard and CPU

you will probably have to reinstall vista while the hard drive with the existing vista installation contains the drivers for the old motherboard and probably do not start correctly

  • Satellite Pro L450D - 12 X - CPU upgrade

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L450D - 12 X and I was wondering which processors 'Dual Core' support this laptop for a CPU upgrade?

Have a read of other peoples threads, it is possible for the laptop to have an upgrade, but I'm not sure of what those who actually support. The most common dual core would be the dual core 'Stalk' However, there are many processors that go under the name "stalk".

I was also wondering if all Toshiba L450Ds have the same motherboard etc... because they contain the same case and (mostly) graphics card

    Thank you very much

I assume that you have already read this Toshiba doesn't support CPU upgrade and a public document on processors compatible doesn t exist.
You can just hope that someone has an identical identical machine with the hardware platform and can offer some info on these updates.

For best performance, you can start with the RAM upgrade. Have you upgraded RAM to max level?

  • G6-1262sa Pavilion: Pavilion g6-1262sa CPU upgrade v2, Sandy Bridge = > Ivy Bridge?

Hi, thanks to the Pavilion g6-1262sa maintenance and manual cleaning and this great forum, I recently discovered that replace my i3-2330 m is possible with all sandy bridge i7 2620m processors.

These questions may sound silly, but I continued my research and I have more ideas to confront reality as a couple.

I realize that the compatibility is not only matter of editing the same socket, but also of the bios installed on certain motherboard, however:

    1. do you think it would be possible to Exchange Sandy Bridge (2nd generation) i3 - 2330 m for some Ivy Bridge (3rd generation) i5-3210 m?

2 is the 32nm to 22nm manufacturing technology enough difference on its own (even if the rest of the architecture is the same) to prevent that to work?

3 is the bios from my card mother g6 identyfying somehow installed processor? (if this isn't on 'the list' it simply won't work? "or what technical compatibility issue?

According to some statements which I found it on some forums and sites (and a few facts documented free):

Socket: the two processors are compatible with BGA1023 decision-making. (at least that's what I found, if someone could confirm I would be grateful)

Difference of architecture: "The 3rd generation is called 'Ivy Bridge' and is essentially a copy of Sandy Bridge made on a smaller scale, or die." However, Intel also focused on beefing up of the onboard graphics in this generation. »

    TDP: both are 35 W

Carrots: both are 2 physical (Virtual 4 - thanks to hyperthreading I guess?)

Energy consumption: "Ivy Bridge CPUS also use less energy", "Ivy Bridge consumes less energy; around 10w, I think. »

    Temperature: i5-3210 m going 5 * C more - 2330 m - i3 shouldn't make much difference

Looking forward to some responses, RacA

It is not a technical incompatibility (socket) because as you probably know Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge are backward compatible on most motherboards desktop. However, HP has only implemented gen 2d, processor Intel Core compatibility of the HM65 Express chipset that you a. motherboards supporting 3rd gen processors use the HM77 chipset. There is no another motherboard that will fit in your frame.

Your analysis above, which was pretty good, left out the chipset, which you must always remember when assessing the possibilities of upgrade:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/MB-Intel_%28chipsets%29/HM65_Express.html

The HM65 supports a couple 3rd gen processors, but none of them are on the list of HP for your model. You can try one of those shown in the link I gave, but I think that there is a small chance that they will work.
