HP G61 windows 7, keyboard problems with

HP G61 windows 7, problems with - keyboard certain letters will not work. (b, n) Summer great for 14 months - now out of warranty. Any ideas?

Sorry you have keyboard problems.

These are only two keys that don't work?

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver through the Device Manager in Control Panel.

It is possible, there is a problem with the hardware with the keyboard and the keyboard needs to be replaced.

In general, it is not a good idea to download dll files.   See, for example, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findtheproblem/qt/dll-download.htm

If you explain more in detail what your problem is, including providing the full text of the error without paraphrase, it is likely that someone in the appropriate Microsoft Answers forum will be able to help.

Because it seems that your problem is related to Internet Explorer, you are more likely to receive help if you post in the forum Internet Explorer, where there are already many threads dealing with issues of shlwapi.dll on IE: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/Search/Search?SearchTerm=shlwapi&CurrentScope.ForumName=ie&CurrentScope.Filter=&askingquestion=false

  • Windows XP starts problems with Satellite M30

My M30 has operated for two years until a few days ago when he suddenly would ' t restart after running a Microsoft security update. He gave me different boot in safe mode options, normally, etc., but none of them work.

I was told that if I use my recovery DVDs. It will clean my drive hard and with him all my files. I understand that my Windows XP software is on this DVD - I certainly don't have a disk full. It is true that I will not have the opportunity to try to repair or to cure the problem and if so will it buy an OEM Windows XP and install it separately? Or should I do something else entirely?

Can anyone give me any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Tried set your windows to an earlier point of your 'system-recovery-point' that appears with the options-> boot in safe mode - boot in safe mode with network - etc.etc...

It this fails, then you need to recover your entire system.

In the first, true it s: you can't heal or repair your system with the recovery dvd, you can just reinstall your entire system and you have an operating system as the first day after you bought this machine.

So, your only choice will be to reinstall your system to correct it, and to avoid the installation of EACH update to Microsoft because I had a lot of problems with some updates that causes my machine to do things like non-boot or some software crashes. It s better to stay informed about updates and install them just after you verified that the isn´t of update affecting your system stability or performance.

To back up your files and recover your system, that you have to do following things:

You said that your system is not initialized, but you need your files.
Just take a UBCD4Win (http://www.ubcd4win.com/) from the Internet and initialize with this CD. You will have access to your files with this WindowsPE on CD and you will be able to back up your data on a USB drive or burn your stuff on the CD.
Now, you need to start the recovery cd and let the automatic installation script do the rest. It will delete your entire hard drive and reinstall the system. After that, you can put the data saved to your hard drive.

I hope that I might be able to help you. If you have any other questions just ask.

  • ThinkPad X 230 Windows 7-64: problems with the screen after updates

    Hi all

I have a problem with the Thinkpad X 230. After a recent update of Windows 7 (64-bit), the screen resolution is set to 800 x 600 and brightness to the minimum. FN + F8/F9 does not work. The brightness is uncontrolled. I had to restore the system before the update.

How to solve the problem, do anyone know?

    Thank you!

    Isosik

    Hi Isosik,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with the display resolution on your ThinkPad X 230.

If you have updated the drivers from Windows update, sometimes this kind of problem occurs with windows generic drivers for cause of driver incompatibility, suggest always update drivers only via the ThinkVantage System Update utility. Update only the application of Microsoft Windows Update.

You can also manually download the drivers from the Lenovo support site.

    I hope this helps.

  • Inspiron 15 (5548, Early 2015) Windows 8.1, problem with graphics card: cannot distinguish colors.

I recently bought a laptop computer Inspiron 15 5548, I noticed that I am not being able to distinguish the colors on the screen, probably a problem with the colors of graphics cards intel.

I was testing with a file html with three blocks with colors, the first is #F7F7F7, the second is #F0F0F0, and the third is #FFFFFF, just gray colors

I think that there is a problem with the graphics card supports intel graphics card is Intel(r) HD Graphics 5500, the driver version is 10.18.10.4013 (last available in the dell drivers site).

There is a picture of what I'm testing.

And this is a picture of the computer screen dell laptop Windows 8 (everything seems the same color!)

This is a photo of the same HTML running on computer dell laptop on Ubuntu (three bands can be distinguished)

And finally, there is a photo of the same html file displayed on an old toshiba laptop Windows 7, I can still distinguish three bands.

Any ideas on why this phenomenon occur?
The configuration of the color on the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel uses the default values.

    Thanks for your help.

pffft just a true color configuration problem, I disabled it and the colors can be now Emeritus.

  • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.

When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

    I tried the things:

Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."

System Restore = no available restore points

Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor

Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile

Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile

Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list

Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile

Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.

You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
D ' log in under a different account.
-To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.

On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Windows 7 - any problems with the installation of update KB 976972?

I have a 4 GB VPCF12M0E Sony vaio which has an NVIDIA graphics card and I have problems using external hard drives via USB connections, so I guess that this download may be suitable for me?

Has anyone with a similar computer downloaded this hotfix if even what download that you use (i.e. X 86 based or X 64) and doing a job?

I ask this question because I never downloaded a solution directly in this way and don't want to chance screwig to the top of my installation of Windows 7 that apart from this default, works well.

    Thanking you all in anticpation.

Create a system restore before installing. Someone else used the platform (x 86 or x 64), use the architecture you have. In addition, you can create a backup of your installation, just to be sure:

  • Windows XP Installation problem with Windows 7 Starter home

I was told that I would have no problem of family Windows XP Setup on a new computer comes pre loaded with Windows 7 Starter.

When I insert the CD with Windows XP, I get the following:

    Run setup.exe

I click on install Windows XP

Program is blocked due to compatibility issues.

Setup cannot continue because the version on the computer is newer than the version on CD.

Anyone know how to solve this problem and install Windows XP?

    Thank you Don

    Hello

I understand that you want to install Windows XP on Windows 7 Starter Edition.

    (1) is the retail Windows XP version or OEM version, you are trying to install?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. As the operating system installed on your computer is newer than the operating system you are trying to install.

To resolve this problem, you need to do a clean install to install Windows XP, and you try to run Windows 7 Setup, it will not work. So, I suggest you to boot from the XP CD (if necessary, first change the boot order in the BIOS) and follow the instructions for a clean install. It will initially format the drive for you, so make sure you back up everything you don't want to lose to external media first.

I hope this helps. Try the above steps and get back to us for assistance. We will be happy to help you.
