  OK, so here is what I did to solve this problem:

  -Create the printer, choose the printer driver generic text

  -Go in the printer properties, click the Advanced tab, then update the driver.

  -Click on the button to Windows Update. It took more than 5 minutes to complete when I ran it, but having downloaded a ton of pilots, including driver G85xi.

  -Select the driver, and then click OK

  I see that you have a problem with the printer. I suggest you do a hard reset with the printer.

  Hard Reset:

  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

  Take out the toner cartridges.

  Wait for 30 seconds

  Plug the power cord into the printer and the wall (be sure that the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)

  Replace the toners/cartridges in the printer

  Never mind. PhotoShop needs to be installed, not simply copied from the old drive. This probably applies to a good many applications!
