HP laptop HP G60; Windows Vista 64-bit; I can't open my DVD drive

I have a 64-bit version of Windows Vista Edition Home Premium that I just reinstalled; I will be upgrading to Windows 7 in the next few days, but I'm going to open my DVD E reader.  It opens when I press the normal button.  But it will be opened by itself at random every few days.  Is there a way I can open it manually except by pressing the button on the door? ... or should I get just an external DVD drive and not worth messing around with this uncooperative E car?

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:
    Method 1:
If you have installed a security software on the computer, then I suggest you try to disable temporary and check to see if the same problem happens. Make sure that you enable security software back once the diagnosis is made to prevent the computer from virus attacks.

My Dell Inspiron 530 sudenlly crashed, I could not start it. I called for the support of a group that I paid for. Technicians helped me start the PC, but they could not fix the screen resolution: in the display settings window, the cursor is on the left end of the bar, the low position and could not be moved. The technician finally asked me to save the folders files and reinstall Windows Vista. After the relocation, the screen resolution problem persisted. Technicians then reformat the HD, then reinstall Windows Vista again, the result was the same. We cannot change the resolution. Help, please.

    Hello

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or

    Hello

I have laptop HP HDX which had a sound problem with message of error "Could not play the test tone", tried in several ways by online suggestions and ended to reinstall the new copy with recovery disk. As part of the recovery with a reovery of HP drive, I tried to get it back and it formatted boot partiion and got this error message "error 1002 if the problem persists, please contact HP support. My laptop is out of warranty now.  I talked to HP support and they ask me to buy new drives recovery and someone in this forum mentioned that recovery disk will lift the same mistake and we would need to purchase technical support and even that has not worked for soembody after paying $ 200 to support. I am struck with recovery of the laptop now. I also tried the recovery partition revovering and gave rise to no luck.  I'm now out of warranty.

I am really fedup with bearing on my this laptop windows vista 64 bit HP HDX laptop problems. What is your best suggestion for me to recover my windows vista now?

    Thank you.

    GK

I ordered the drive to restore HP for $ 16 and I have no problem in my OS with this disk recovery. Recovery partition that came with my laptop had this error 1002 and he really tortured than me. It is recovered successfully with this new disc of recovery with on all issues.

  • where to find windows vista 32 bit OEM Toshiba Portege laptop

I need the OEM version of windows Vista 32 bit for Toshiba Portege M750 - 10G.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

With a Toshiba, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the ro process of factory of the recovery Partition recovery.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    See you soon.

  • Installation failed for HP Photosmart C6180 wireless for my laptop HP Pavilion (window Vista Home Premium) 64-bit

    Hello

I have HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-One printer, that works well with my other Compaq Presario SR2001NX desktop (Window XP) wired without any problem.
But after I bought the new laptop about a month ago, I tried to install this printer on my wireless laptop.
I downloaded HP driver for vista 64-bit, which is not always in the final phase of installation showing big 'X' mark on the screen of the window.
Several chatting online with HP technician did not work at all, and I couldn't connect the printer with that laptop apparently more up-to-date, which is quite frustrating.
I know how to connect the printer wireless with router. The printer screen shows it is correctly connected to the Wi - Fi network.

I wonder if Microsoft already knows this kind of installation problems.

It seems that Windows does not install automatic blower for this printer. Most of the HP printers is listed on the function of automatic installation of the window, but this printer is not included.

    Hello Itnntkim,

Thanks for posting of Microsoft Answers.

I checked on the compatibility of Windows Vista site and this printer is compatible with the 64-bit system, but it shows there is a required download for the drivers. I've included here the compatibility site.
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=PhotoSmart%20C6180%2032%2f31ppm%204800x1200dpi%20Print%2fCopy%2fScan%2fFax%20NIC%20U&v=HP&uid=Q8181AABA&pf=0&pi=0&s=HP%20PhotoSmart%20C6180%20all-in-one%20multifunction&os=32-bit

Make sure that you have all the updated drivers for the HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-One printer.
The website below is for drivers for this model for Windows Vista 64-bit system.
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?OS=2100&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&product=1153494&lang=en

We have downloaded the drivers, then uninstall the drivers you currently have. And then update with the new drivers.  If when you do that, you still get an error, please answer with the exact error message so that we can continue to troubleshoot with you.

  • Portege M400: Where to find Windows Vista 64-bit

    Hello!

I've owned a Portege M400 for a period of 3-4 months now, and I wonder if there is even one person out there who managed to get this laptop computer working under vista 64-bit.

I finally got bluetooth drivers to work, after the arrival of drivers available. But the following list does not work or I have not found drivers that work.

    -The buttons below the LCD
-Accelometer (and all the utilities like screen rotation or to do something about tilting machine)
HARD disk utility - protection (I installed Vista drivers, but they totally destroyed the machine and I had to restore system did not start after the installation of windows)
    -Fingerprint reader

And I could live if I couldn't get buttons and accelometer to work, but still it would be great that the computer laptop everything would work.

I'm starting to lose hope and I am already planning to install pirate Vista 32 bit in this laptop... Because it seems that it was a mistake to buy 64-bit ultimate. Some drivers Toshibas indicates they are pilots 'vista', but they do not yet work with the 64-bit version, which has little frustrating...

In any case if someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot! Because I'm getting slowly frustrated with this problem with vista 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance

I really understand you, but there is nothing to see! Toshiba Vista 64-bit drivers are not available on the Toshiba page. Nothing!

Of course, you can use a Vista 64 bit on laptops, but you will get not all 64-bit drivers. Maybe more later but not at this time!

So either you will switch back to Vista 32 bit or you need to use this notebook without 64-bit drivers. But this is not recommended

    Greetings

That of the problem. This action of upgrade is finished a long time ago.

  • Package of added value and Windows Vista 64-bit on Satellite P200

Hello, recently I changed Windows version of 32-bit to 64-bit. Everything works perfectly except PPV.

When I try to install it, it produces an error message that says:

    ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE

I found in some old discussions that I should update my bios, so I downloaded most recent bios, and when I tried to update, the pop-up message that I already have this version.

    I did some research and I found some drivers for the 64-bit version - [link to driver | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 152 & selProduct = 746 & selSho rtMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 27 & selType = all & yearup load = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = al lMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = all & page = 1 & ID = 61866 & DISO = 27 & driverLanguage = 13]
and in the statement, he said that I should
"It's only the driver of value added package for 64-bit computers. Installation instructions: 1. unzip the zip-> 2. Right-click on the "TVALZ_O.INI" file-> 3. After a right-click on the file, choose "Install" from the context menu. »
But when I do that there is an error message that says that this INF file selected does not support this method of installation.
I tried to install it in safe mode, but the error is the same.

Maybe I should put these drivers in a specific location? If Yes, where?
Who can I install everything first? VAP installation for 32 bit, then driver for 64-bit? Or maybe the other way around?

If someone could write me a clear instruction how step by step, I would be really grateful.

My system: Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate with SP1
    My Notebook: P200 series

Best regards, Paul of the Poland.

Hmm, I wonder about this sentence
    > I've done some research and I found some drivers for the 64 bit version

What is your laptop model number? Have you chosen the right Toshiba VAP for the right notebook series?

If you have chosen the correct drivers (for the right notebook series) then try to copy the extracted files in the folder of Toshiba Value Package added to programs-> Toshiba-> Toshiba Value added Package.

Then try to run the ini file as described on the page of the European driver Toshiba.

    Hello!

What Satellite model do you have?

You cannot install the 32-bit drivers, you need 64-bit. I think 64-bit is not available for a laptop Satellite L but you can search on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

In addition, you can also search on external Web sites for 64-bit drivers.
