• HP pavilion dv6-3031nr: no link between HP printer and computer laptop, even when they both show a connection

  How my printer can work one day and the other day it doesn't.

  I have a HP Pavilion laptop and an HP Photosmart printer.  Both show that they are connected, but the printer will not print. My dvd player want me to transfer pictures and will not read my cd for the printer.

  I have a Photosmart D110a.  The printer prints.  But would not scan.  I went to print and scan on my laptop and tried there.  I don't know what happened, but it is now printing and scanning, but only from my computer.  It seems to change with the times.

  drivers and ask in their forums.

  Ugh! The Geek Squad! Geek Squad, in my opinion (and that of many of)
  others among us here) is among the worst possible places for computer
  advice service or the computer. They are largely incompetent.
   
  If they are the ones who 'fixed', no doubt they did not set
  they have screwed up. Without knowing exactly what they were doing, it will be
  very hard to advise you other than what you probably now
  need to do a clean reinstall of Windows and all over again
  from scratch.

  You are not quite correct.  Some newer wireless printers have only a wireless connection.  No USB port and a standard Ethernet cable port.

  If your printer and router are close to each other, I would recommend via ethernet to your printer to your router connection.  Then follow these instructions.

  If you need to connect the printer to the wireless router, because they are in different rooms, you can use a wireless print server, but I'm not sure it is worth the money and the headaches - just get a new printer wireless - IMHO, of course.

  If your printer and scanner are old enough, I could imagine you don t get the drivers for Windows 7. You should check this page: P directly if the Windows 7 drivers are available or not.

  If Yes, download and install it, it s the same as on other laptops and computers. If no driver available devices are not compatible with Windows 7.

  The name of the software of the doctor & pajaud, according to me, is HPPSdr.exe. In the meantime, to continue troubleshooting, please try the following steps in the following order:

  • Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the printer software.
  • Clean boot the computer. How to perform a boot in Windows.
  • Disable all Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.
  • Disable all firewall programs. Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
  • Create a new user account. Management of accounts of users and connections (Windows 7).
  • Reinstall using the printer HP install wizard for Windows.

  Then run the HP print and Scan Doctor, once more to check that everything works.
