HP Laserjet 5000 DN

Hello.

The computer that has the printer HP laserjet 5000DN, connected to it by a network hub wore out!

The computer that I now had Windows XP installed and one of the 2 printers has been successfully installed.

The LJ is extremely important to us that we publish books of music...

Not the same with the laserjet 5000.

The operating system is Windows XP.

I use Office 2003 on this computer.

The bubble jet Canon printer is configured OK without problems on LPT 1.

The LJ connects to the computer via a network hub.

I have added the LJ as a PS printer and traversed properly advanced settings.

I've set up a TCP/IP port and put the LJ about it... but when you want to print a test page, it will not print.

I got the IP address as: 192.168.0.67

As the subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

The Def gateway as: 192.168.0.1

I noticed that when I printed the Configuration Menu of the printer host name has been "not specified", don't know if it's important?

Also on the protocol information: when the printer has been set up in a couple of years, the status of the TCP/IP protocol was READY.

Today printing shows that the status of TCP/IP as 40, ARP duplicate IP address 00196650EB69.

Can someone help me on this please?

Would appreciate any help or advice.

Thanking you.

Bridget

Hello

I recently bought a Dell laptop which has MS Windows 7 64-bit OS and I have an old Dell Desktop 4400 w/Windows XP I have a HP Laserjet 5000 printer is connected to the LPT1 Port.  I have the shared printer, and I can connect with my other laptop that has the MS Vista operating system.  I can't get my laptop which has Windows 7 connect and I have tried everything I can think. I connected to my laptop with Windows 7 and downloaded the latest driver on the HP Web Site.  The drivers for the LJ5000 are called universal drivers.  The drivers are installed on my W7 system and then I'll start/devices and printers and "Add a printer" option.  I select the 'look' in the network option and Windows looking for the shared Prnter and considers it.  I select the printer and it starts looking for the driver.  I think he's looking on the computer where the printer is connect anyway, it cannot find the driver.  I get a dialog box that says it cannot find and gives me the ability to navigate.  I then go to the universal driver I downloaded for HP5000 and I'm going to the folder that contains the files ".inf".  The program tells me it can't find the driver for HP5000.  What I am doing wrong?  Windows 7 supports the HP Laserjet 5000 printer.  I hope of course because I can afford to buy a new 11 "x 17" printer. "  There, can someone help me?  Thank you.

Try the following: on the Windows 7 machine go devices and printers folder, add a printer, a local printer, create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the actual share of the computer and the printer), OK, then click Windows Update, and then select the appropriate driver.

  • LaserJet 5000: 5000 Laserjet won't print 11 x 17

I have a Laserjet 5000 attached to a Dell minitower, which has been recently upgraded from WIndows 7 to Windows 10.  Since the upgrade, he lost the ability to print 11 x 17 format. The preview seems functional and the printer picks up the right size paper but it reduces the 8.5 x 11 print.  There currently PCL6 driver installed.

I suspect that this may be caused by the incompatibility of the pilot, but it is an older printer, the only driver available is the universal print driver. If I try to install, I can't even print a test page. He simply said something to the effect of "room was error in printing on this device" but no details. There currently PCL6 driver installed. Printing and scanning doctor is unable to find or fix the problem.

I'm looking for guidelines or ideas to solve this problem. Thank you.

This printer is able to postscript. Download universal postscript driver and try it.

    Hey toneow,

HP has made a Web page with a list of printers that are compatible with the HP ePrint App.  I'll give you a link to this page below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02814760

We can see that the HP Laserjet 5000 is not listed under the LaserJet of commercial class, from that moment.

Have you tried the Windows Update button when you are in the Add Printer Wizard?

I show that a driver for LaserJet 5000 PS who listed there.

When you select Windows Update, it may take up to 10 minutes to get a list of printers that are updated.

or is her work around this?

    Thanks in advance

It is a forum for discussion of issues related to the PostScript language, not problems associated to a particular provider PostScript.

In this case, you are dealing with a Hewlett-Packard printer that didn't not even Adobe PostScript, but rather a third party emulation of the language. In addition, you are not dealing with the standard Windows PostScript driver, but rather own Hewlett-Packard drivers.

I highly recommend that you contact Hewlett-Packard or visit one of their product support forums.

  • LaserJet 5000: LaserJet 5000 toner low

I have an old LaserJet5000 and I replaced the toner cartridge, but I get an error saying it is low. How do I clear it?

There is a work around posted here to disable the warning message:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-bpl04606

Not exactly the fix for the problem but should help you to squeeze a little more life out of your lj5000.

  • LaserJet 5000: LaserJet 5000 N Mac

This printer has always been on my small business network, but all of a sudden and without change apparent to the establishment, is not printing.

Once I sent to print the following message:

The printer does not exist or is not available at this time

I deleted the printer in the list in the system preferences, but then was not available in the list of possible to add in.

    Any tips?

    See you soon

In fact, the next thing to do is look at the IP address assigned to the printer and see if it is a manual or a DHCP address.

So, you want to look at the IP address of your PC and make sure that something happened to restore the jetdirect where it has an incompatible IP address at this time.

The first three numbers of the IP for the PC to the printer should be the same, i.e. numbers separated by periods

  • LaserJet 5000: HP Laserjet 5000 will not work with my OS10.10.3

My canon appears in the list of printers, but no HP printer.

Please note all, I upgraded to OS 10.10.4 this morning, reinstalled my HP update 3.1 and found my printer in system preferences and I'm beck to work.

  • HP never will issue a driver Windows 7 for Color Laserjet 3500

When I did installs it of Win 7 months ago, my 3500 worked and could be shared.  When I had to do an install of Win 7 a few days ago, I lost the support of this printer.  All the facilities were "upgrades" to XP.  He worked for months.

I must be printing color later this week.  My HP laserjet 5000 printer has been supported for 15 years.  The 3500, 6 years then nothing.  Everyone at HP can give me a good reason to buy their printers never again?

PS, none of the workarounds posted here work for the 3500.  Note that none of the 3500 inquueries are "resolved".

So, no reason to not to drop this 3500 in a trash can and go Ricoh HP forever?

And I guess my other question is answered by omission.

HP will selectively issue loyalty or product drivers for OS updates, based on cost considerations rather than questions of customer lifecycle.

The positive side to that is that I'll save a lot of money in the future, now that I know that HP loyalty is one-way.  Now I can shop strictly on the life-cycle cost and performance!

    Thanks for all the help.

  • 0x0000052e error code when you try to connect to a network printer

    Original title:

I'm trying to set up a HP Photosmart all-in-one on a home network where this is a Vista machine and host machine is a Sony Vaio with Windows 7.  Windows 7 is the new part.  I had a network implemented with the available printers and used with the host computer running XP Pro.  I get error # 0x0000052e and tells me that the printer is not found.  Online, I noticed a number of people with similar problems.  Is there an easy work around.

Second question: I am trying to connect a HP Laserjet 5000 (2001 vintage - parallel) to the USB port of the Windows 7 machine.  Windows cannot find the printer.  It takes more than a cable of adoptive parent to have the printer detected by Windows 7?
    M.
    Hello

  • Printing on WinXP via a USB port.

Did anyone out there in the wide world actually got a HP DeskJet 710C to print via USB on WinXP, rather than just thinking in general terms they know how to do it?    It goes the same for LaserJet 5 p.

    Thank you

Okay, it looks like you are making progress.

My experience (and I've seen other post) has been rather uneven with USB-parallel converters, I've seen several cases where they do not work.

For your XP machine, you will need to use the XP driver.  You can use a similar method, as I mentioned earlier, on the XP machine, add a printer as if it were a local port and a port \\windows7machine\dj720 or whatever the correct printer and computer names.  The message here can help.

I'm not sure that this is for your Laserjet 5 p.  I have the 5 p available in "Add a printer" after doing a windows update.  It's a little hard to find - under manufacturer HP (not Hewlett-Packard) scroll to the bottom of the printer list past the Laserjet 5, past the Laserjet 5000, 5100 and 5200 models and then there are additional models of Laserjet 5: 5 M, 5MP, 5N and then 5 p.

  • What are the symptoms of expired toner?

I have a Laserjet 5000, which is rarely used and the toner cartridge is less than five years.

After extended use (several months) I tried to use it, and while most of the time, it prints OK there are some problem areas on some pages where the toner does not seem to have joined with the document.

I guess the fuser unit, but there is no toner without fuse and while some spots of ink, it is nowhere near as much as the unprinted areas would explain. Also 90% of each page is OK and the problem areas are inconsistent (even if they tend to happen more toward the bottom of the page). The effect is completely different from a nearly empty cartridge.

I am very happy to buy a new cartridge, but do not want to lose money if there is something else wrong with the printer.

So I'm just wondering if anyone knows what are the symptoms expected toner OOD and whether it sounds a likely cause of my problems.

I should add that the perfectly executed printer last time that it has been used.
