HP Office jet 6700: disabled network HP office jet printer capabilities

Please help, my Hp office jet printer will not conect to internet it says the built in network capacity have been disabled and contact the network administrator

Hi @shell1,

I can help you reset the printer to get the network features reactivated.

I'll send you a PM (private Message), but before I do, please see the HP Privacy Statement.

This privacy statement informs you of our privacy practices and the choices you can make about the way information about you and your online activity is collected and how that information is used. This statement is available on our homepage at the bottom of each web page of HP and HP.com.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

  • H P 6700: abilities network disabled

Hi, I accidentally disabled the network features in my printer according to me.  I also deleted the printer off computor and I want to re connect... all this happened after someone has been on my computor.  Anyway, I'm sure I'll be able to re connect but I couldn't too as the network features are disabled.  How can I turn on their return.  I printed the Page of Configuration of HP network and he told me only that they have been disabled, I was after my IP address... any help would be great.

Reset the printer to the default network. Use the front panel.

  • I need this laptop wireless connection to my office wired printer. How

I want to this laptop wireless connection to my office wired printer. How can I do that. I tried to do the thing of the shared printer, but my office is old and uses windows xp, and of course, this laptop uses windows 7. My printer is an epson stylus photo r320. I want to have my wife's cell phone to also be able to access the printer. I connect to the internet via a cable comcast and have a linksys N Router e2500. I want to do this as cheaply and simply as possible. Thank you

    Hello:

First you must enable sharing of files and printers in Windows XP. During this process, you need to change the name of your to WORKGROUP MSHOME workgroup to match the workgroup name in Windows 7.

You should also turn on file sharing and printers in Windows 7, and turn off password protected sharing.

When you have done all that, click View workgroup computers on the XP PC. You should see the two PC listed.

With the laptop to Windows 7, you should see the printer connected to your computer listed with the desktop computer (you may need to click on see the whole map when you open the network and sharing Center). Click on the printer and click on connect. I hope that the printer is capable of Windows 7. If it isn't, it will give you an error that it cannot find an appropriate driver or another error.

Updated the firmware of the printer now 20140618

Reset all the network settings on the printer - used the HP utility for this.

The only way to fix the problem, it's the PC. I tried to recover by disabeling and activation of print queue and restart the service of spool printing, no effect.

I tried to disable the SNMP service on the printer without result.

I am connected to the printer via the LAN. Another printer running Windows 7 doesn't have the same question.

  • You can disable network functionality

It can move, but I didn't know where he was going.

I have a Tungsten E2.  I have a ball of baseball scoring software package that I use in this topic.  Whenever I get back something, the Palm is looking for a network service.  Is there a way to disable network functionality?  I looked through the manual and saw nothing.

    Thanks for any help.

The only characteristic of 'network' has the E2 is Bluetooth.  But it seems that the software itself is trying to establish a connection, as if she's trying to connect with a place to download data... has it always done this?  Perhaps there's an option or preference in the software that turns off this feature?

Oh Yes... I moved this to the Commission of software.

  • Not 'add printer network, wireless or bluetooth printer' choice in Add Printer

    ·        I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit. When I go to devices and printers and select "Add a printer", the only option I get is to add a local printer. There is no other choice 'add a network, wireless or bluetooth printer. I have this choice on my other two computers running the same version of Windows 7. How to make this choice appears? I have the impression of sharing enabled.

Thanks for any help - bob

  • DeskJet 2510: How-to: scan in a network (2510 series Deskjet) printer

Hi everyone, I can't scan on my printer connected to the USB router but I can print without problem. Everytime I open the printer ' sotware (HP Deskjet 2510 series), I will be directed to install the printer driver and software (which is already installed). I tried to use printing HP and doctor Scan but it did not help. It just says I need to install the drivers and software for what more is already installed.

Here is a map on the way in which I print on my printer:

    Laptop-> (WiFi)-> router-> (USB)-> printer

    Hello

Your printer is not a network printer, it is a single USB printer.

By the printer connected to a print server (a USB port of a router), such an impression offers only sharing through the network, a connection scan is much more complex and requires a direct connection to the PC, only the active network devices (wireless compatible printer or a printer with an ethernet port) allow scanning from multiple computers.

    Kind regards

    Shlomi

  • Network connected to PSUS4 printer goes offline when the PC is shut down...

I am close to giving up this problem, help would really be appreciated.

My printer network disconnects when my computer is shut down or sleep. I have a Samsung printer connected to a print server through a router Linksys WAG160N Linksys PSUS4 wireless. Two computers that are hard cables to the router to see and access the printer without problem. I now have a new laptop Sony Vaio (Vista OS) that accesses the router WAG160N wireless. The Vaio connects to the internet OK, but everytime I shut down the PC, the printer is offline and remains offline to the Vaio when I start again.

If I remove the printer of the Vaio and then 'add printer' again, by selecting the option "Add a network, wireless or bluetooth printer" shows the printer as \\LK90a6dd\p1 network is available. But if I try to connect to it, I have "X Windows cannot connect to the printer". If, instead of this, I choose 'Add a local printer' and select the existing port "\\LK90a6dd\p1 (renderer client-side) ' and the printer driver series Samsung ML1210, the printer is installed, works very well and remains online - until I have stop the Vaio, it is. Then delete the printer, install the printer etc to access the printer again.

    Pleeeaaassseee help...

Kevin, I owe you a drink. I have added the printer as a local printer (as opposed to network), entering the IP, etc print driver, restarted the computer, and... the printer remained online. Unlike many critics of Vista, I found that it is a reasonable operating system. But maybe it's the glitches like these that give it a bad reputation. Thanks a lot for your help. Really enjoyed.
