HP Officejet Pro 6830: Black and white printing

Hello, I hope someone can help me because this problem is driving me crazy.

When I try to print something on the I do not have the option to print the selected page black & white print.  BUT on the computer of my wife which is also a Macbook is the box for black & white printing.  How can it be possible?  We both use the same driver, and we both use the AirPrint printer.   Please help me. Thank you

Hello

There might be a difference of versions and therefore a "Preset" I don't not offered.

You can change the settings for B & W pritn as follows:

Hello
Follow the steps below to print using black ink only:

1. from the application used to print, click the file menu and select print. The print window is displayed.
NOTE: The print window might be minimized: click Show details to display all available parameters.

2. to access the color options, click in the area of selection below, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

3. Select Type/quality paper in the menu dropdown.

4. click the triangle next to color Options of spending parameters.

5. set the color to grayscale field.

6. set the Mode to grayscale in black cartridge only.

You can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset.

  • Why my PRO - 100 black-and-white prints have a color tint?

I print out on the printer PIXMA Pro-100 and sometimes, for no apparent reason (?), my black and white prints have a color tint (generally a "reddish brown"), then when printing to new... same settings print, same... the same impression will be fine, neutral with no tint at all.

    No idea why?

Also (perhaps related?) I do not understand why Photo-Cyan and Magenta cartridges are exhausted when I'm NOT print color, but only black and white.  Am I missing something?  When you set up for printing, I always make sure that the 'Black and white photography' feature is selected in settings dialog "Quick Installation".  This ensures not only the black and gray inks are used as long as I'm not "toning"?  In other words... ONLY black and gray inks are used, if not the impression that is supposed to be a black and white printing neutral? Yet once... I missed something?

    FOR INFO:

I print on Canon Pro radiance papers and more glossy.

Under 'Options - color management', I selected:

(color management) Photoshop Elements handles colors

    (image area) Adobe RGB (1998)

(the printer profile) Canon PRO-100 1/2 Luster Photo Paper Pro

    (rendering mode) Perceptual

The most important thing is the paper you choose to print on.  Find this first release. Any Epson printer which uses UltraChrome K3 inks will do a better job with B & W as a Pro-(anything).  But Epson suffers from obstruction more far do, Canon Pro-100 problems.

If you print a lot is not too big of a problem, but if you print once a week or once a month to forget it.  Go with Canon that clogged very rarely, if ever.

Try to find the right paper.  It will make everything better.  Call the Red River or Canson and ask them to recommend a book.  Red River will work with you and they know the Pro - 100 inside and outside.

I have an IMAC 10.8.1 operating system.  I can't get my 6700 HP to print only black and white.  Even when I choose black and white printing, it will not be printed like that.  I can't implement any new printing preferences.  Now, I'm unable to print anything and yellow ink.  Went and bought a new black ink and printer recognizes that black ink is full.

I don't know just something I am doing wrong.  Can anyone help?

How can I change the color to black and white printing?

    Hello Fludium

According to your printer software, there are two different methods to set the levels of gray and black ink only.

    1. Inside Printer preferences, you switch to the features tab. Here, you should see grayscale in the lower left corner. When grayscale is selected, you can use black ink only quality. Then press ok.
    2. In the printer preferences, you can click the Advanced button. You should see a "print in grayscale" option is set to 'Off', put in levels of gray or black ink only and press ok.

Like with a Mac when you open the print dialog box depending on the application, there may be a link at the bottom left of the dialog print system. Here, you should see a predefined option. There is a quick project to black ink only preset. Save this preset and it should become the default option.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: replaced warranty for printer and cartridges of manipulation

My Officejet Pro 6830 AiO printer doesn't have 3 months after purchase (power supply is ok, but it no longer lights). I contacted HP support and a replacement printer is on the way.
Unfortunately I replaced all ink cartridges 'setup' 4 with brand new just a few days before the failure of the printer, so I asked the Lady to support (good person) if and how I can recover the defective device.
She told me to take off the cartridges of the faulty unit and retain them for the replacement printer, but was to serve once the "setup" cartridges sent with the unit will be out of ink.

    Now, I have some doubts:

    (1) when I take my full semi the defective printer cartridges, I fear that the ink will start to dry... should I cover the opening at the bottom of the cartridges with tape? Will it be enough?

    (2) the ink in the printhead of the defective unit will start to get dry as well. The defect of the device is clearly in electronics, while the print head has worked perfectly. Isn't bad to leave the print head is clogged by dry ink? I still have empty cartridges "setup" out (differentiation 'stock' of waste...) should I put them on the print head?

    (3) the defective printer does not turn so to loosen its cartridges, I need to manually pull the cart of the printhead to the center position. Is it Ok?

Thanks to all those who will clear this point to me.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have questions about your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830. I am happy to answer these questions for you!

    To answer your questions:

    1. To properly store the cartridges, I suggest you put them in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware. Make sure that the contacts on the cartridges are not touch anything.
    2. I wouldn't worry about the obstruction with the defective printer printhead.
    3. I suggest to try to move the cartridge door manually, but don't force it, if it will not move freely. If you are unable to get the cartridges, please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. As they would be able to replace the cartridges for you. • HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP Officejet Pro 6830 @hpeprint address not printing

I just added my new HP Officejet Pro 6830 to my home network.  The printer is set up for my network with a Wi - Fi connection.  All updated software has been installed.  My operating system is Windows 10 (64-bit).

When directly connected to my network, printing and scanning to my laptop, android or iPad works very well.

However, when I'm away from my home network, I am remotely sends print jobs to my address [email protected] which is related to this printer with no result.  No error, no engravings, nothing.  I tried emailing my android phone, my iPad, even your laptop via Web site from my e-mail.  Nothing.

Because the printer works well when I'm inside my network, is there something I have to during installation?  Do I need to make changes in my configurations?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @CTFaninNJ,

I see that you encounter some problems with the help of ePrint to print from your mobile devices on your Officejet 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    Here's what we will do:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. On the printer, click web services icon in the lower left corner of the display screen.
    5. Compare the address of the ePrint printer to the ePrint address as it appears on the app. If it is different, you must change the address ePrint in the application on the device.
    6. Try to send a document ePrint by sending an email.

Please let me know if this allows you to ePrint or if you have other questions. If not, have a great weekend!

  • black and white printing with a mac

I've recently upgraded from a Dell Windows PC to an iMac with OS 10.9. I use my old HP 6500e 710 a Officejet All in One.

In general, I print most of my documents in black and white that was available on version Windows 7 driver.

On the iMac OS 10.9 driver version, I can print only in black and white in "draft" mode

Based on another ad I saw on this forum, the drop-down list for a different HP printer (I think than 8300) had the function Select B & W print in any quality. In addition, she had 'gray levels' selectable.

I seems that my version of the pilot V2.4.0 - 2 does not have the full options compliment. HP needs to update this driver OS 10.9.

    Can anyone HELP!

    happytohelp01,

I got an answer from HP Support pointing me driver for Apple on the support site software Apple; HP v.2.16.1 for OS X printer drivers.

This is to "'http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907 '. "   Once I loaded it, I was given the following instructions:

Step 3: Change the print settings

1 open the document you want to print

    2. click on file , then print

    3. make sure that the correct printer name is selected.

    4. we'll find the orientation option, there are menu drop-down. Select the Type of paper/quality (see the attached screenshot)

    5. click on Color Options.

    6. Select the Grayscale under color

    7. click on print.

You can create a preset using the procedure below so that you don't have to change the settings every time that you print.

    1. click on menu presets

    2. click on create new preset

    3. assign a predefined name

4 confirm to create the preset.

Next time, you can select the predefined name for the settings that you have made.

This allowed me to print in B & W normal quality.

  • Photosmart: black and white printing

I have a HP Photosmart 5520. N set the printer to print in black and white that I rarely need to color option?

Hi @skeltermac, welcome in the community.

Thank you access the Forums from HP Support for extra support! I see you want to change the print settings to print in black and white only. I will do my best to help you with this problem.

You have not mentioned the operating system you use and the settings are specific to the operating system you are using.

If you are using MAC OS X, follow the steps mentioned in the document to change the print of"grayscale" settings or black ink only: http://hp.care/2dmOsTp

If your computer runs windows, follow the steps mentioned below to change the color to grayscale options / black-ink only:

    • On the file menu in your software, click on print.
    • Make sure that your printer is selected.
    • Click on the button that opens the "Properties" dialog box
    • Depending on your software application, this button could be called 'Properties', 'Options', "Setting up the printer", "Printer properties", "Printer" or "Preferences".
    • You can select grayscale or other "layout" option / options 'Colour' or 'Advanced '.

    Please visit http://hp.care/2dmOI4V for instructions.

  • Black and white printing only problem for Mac at HP6480 all-in-one printer

Does anyone know how to get the printer to print in black and white only?  As others have mentioned, the printer wants to use the cartridge printing black and white color.  When I explore each print option, drop down menu, question mark, it has no option to reset the printer b & w printing only, even if the summary section lists this option in one of windows printing.

Have you tried cmd - p of any application, paper Type/quality and in grayscale, choose this menu?

  • only of black and white prints

My sisters new want 5660 printer prints only in black and white.

I have been all over the net and my iMac to try to understand what is the problem, but nothing helped.

I looked for the paper type / quality etc settings that were solutions to other problems, but these options are not on my computer.  I passed through all the menus on the printer and many of my programs in an attempt to change a few settings that is saying is not in color, this printer.  I opened the printer settings and the settings of my computer and nothing gave me the possibility to print in color or black and white.

    what the devil?

the closest solution to you, that I could find was that someone uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and it helped for a while, until she had to repeat the same thing.  that cannot be a workable solution, and my first guess would be that there is a problem with the printer.

However, if there is something that I am on, can you please let me know?  I'm annoyed at the moment and it's not yet my printer...

    Hello @jammypie,

The reason why the HP ENVY 5660 e-all-in-one printer is not printing correctly from your Mac OS X 10.6.8 computer is because the printer is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Because this printer is new, it is only compatible with Mac OS X 10.7, Mac OS X 10.8, Mac OS X 10.9 and 10.10 to Mac OS X. Therefore, there is no driver support on your Mac OS X 10.6.8 computer. I'm surprised that you were able to get the printer to print to your Mac in the first place. But this does not explain why your print quality is so bad. You can try the alternate drivers that appear under the screen (+) add under Print & Fax but I can't guide you to a driver who would be appropriate for your printer, because it is not supported on this operating system. It is an inkjet printer if you can try a few other ink jet pilots who appear in the list.

The solution to this problem would be to install the desire on a supported operating system and all printing problems will be resolved.

I wish you good luck going forward with this!

  • Force the Canon C5030 black and white printing

    Hello:

I'm trying to force my Canon C5030 to print only black and white, even if it is sent color impressions. We don't use a print server, and if I change the default settings on each machine, co-workers can still change for color printing. Is there a way to force it through the printer settings?

    Michael

    Hello

I don't know what setting on the device could prevent color printing. Maybe something in the service mode.

I suggest using the PCL6 driver generic Canon and set it to 'Black & White [A3]' in the device settings in the printer properties. In this way, you can provide all the features as options, drawers, etc. and the finish color option is not available.

But if you don't have a print server, no doubt users will be able to install a driver capable of color themselves on their computer.

  • Canon MG5420 of color instead of black and white printing

Yes, I read all the similar messages.  Yes, I have a Mac and follow the instructions to use TextEdit to get a printed sample to ensure that preferences are shown in black and white. In the sample of TextEdit, I was able to get a black and white document.

I have used this printer for 1 1/2 years now without a problem.  Just a few weeks ago, when I print a document to be fair, black and white, it's printing in color or color MIXED WITH black.  Often, it is green with a bit of black or yellow and a bit of black.  When I scan a document or print a copy of a document directly on the Board, it is black and white.  When I print from my computer with Word for Mac or a PDF from Adobe, even if I make sure that the settings are NOT 'default' and the black and white option is selected, prints out in several colors.  I've made sure there's all the new ink in the cartridges, and none are the low toner level.  What to do now?

Woohoo, Canon technical support with the phone number listed in this thread told me through it all.  It turns out that the head of the nozzle must be cleaned.  There is a small white arrow pointing up at the top of the home screen.  It is not a decoration, as I thought, but if you click on the arrow pointing UPWARDS on the printer controls that access you the parameters Menu.  From there, you can print a focus in color.  In my case, one color appears not at all, even though I had just replaced the color toner in the printer.  It said the tech that I needed to do a cleaning on the menu.  We did it twice and now it's good to go, good as new.  Thank you!
