HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: Designating the right printer for the printing of emails

My default print, microsoft to try to print emails (Optimum).  How can I change the default to accept the HP printer?

Hi @ace8.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I appreciate that you try to change the printer when printing an Optimum account emails.

So that I can help you better, I have a few questions.

When you say that by default, Microsoft do you mean Microsoft XPS writer or a note?

What web browser are you printing from?

When you go into devices and printers, is the set of 8610 as the default printer?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Keep the printer?

New to the Forum.  I have an Officejet Pro 8610.  My old printer (4620) would turn off and unplug the printer after each use.  Sometimes, I go 2 weeks without use of the machine.  I was told to leave the printer on all the time.  What is the best option for someone who is not a big user of the printer?  Thank you.

    Hi @Bronco1,

It's really best to let the printer on as he said himself. I have an officejet 6600 that I use maybe once every month or two, I leave it on and it goes into sleep/power mode mode; your printer you will do the same. The advantage to leave, as mentioned, is that the printer will systematically be past in maintenance mode and keep the ink moving regularly. This maintenance helps prevent inks from drying up.

Keep the print head of your printer is a bit like the oil in your car. If you do not regularly, not only it won't work best, but ultimately it may not work at all. And the cost of maintenance is negligible compared to the cost of the repair if you do not have the maintenance - in the case of your printer, it uses a small amount of ink flowing through the print head and keep it clear.  -J' found this text of presentation with additional information in the following link: should you turn your printer Off when you don't use it?

Ultimately there is no "right" answer, but I think it is really preferable to leave the printer on.

I hope this solves your request.

  • Cannot print locally OfficeJet Pro 8610, but I can print via the web service

    Hello

I just installed a Pro OfficeJet 8610 with downloaded installation. I found my printer on the wireless LAN and it connected. I can't print anything from my Windows 8 HP laptop! I print from Word (or anywhere) and I said filled, but nothing prints. I can even see him spool printing, and it seems he's going through, but nothing prints. I even tried a direct USB connection with the same problem.

However, I can print from the web using the ePrint (send to the printer), but it's not practical.

    It is a weird problem.

I had a friend connect using their computer and it worked (wireless) and I can even print from my iPhone locally.

This indicates that the HP laptop - I deleted the printer, reinstalled the drivers, ran all windows updates, reboted (computer and printer) several times and the same problem persists.

Please help - very frustrated and ready to return the stupid printer.

    Hey @LoreeW,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that you have a few problems with ePrint using your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer.  I want to help you with this.

I recommend that you first check your printer to verify its intact ePrint connection:

    • Touch the icon (webservices)
    • If you see an address @hpeprint.com, I recommend that you try to send a test ePrint from a different email domain than what you use on your work computer.  If it prints correctly, we can rule out your printer as being a factor in this particular issue.  If your printer's Web services is enabled is more, re - enable.  Any problem would occur with this, click here to access another relevant post I created.  Scroll to my suggestion re: setting a manual DNS as this tends to help by allowing the webservices where fail the normal steps.

If you were able to send your printer work ePrint of any e-mail domain other than the one you use at work, read on.  Click here to see an HP ePrint article that focuses on the various factors that can contribute jobs ePrint not printing not.  Note that some areas of corporate email may become incompatible with ePrint due to the presence of a digital signature in the outgoing message template.  EPrint jobs you send work meet these criteria?

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  Thanks again for reaching out in the Forums - we are always happy to help you.  If I helped you to solve the problem and that you liked this post, feel free to give me virtual accessories by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below.

    Hey @Mike144,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

I see you have some problems with the printing of 10 Windows PC to your Officejet 8710 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    To resolve this problem:

    1. If your printer is connected to your PC via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.

If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, click on add printer and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your printer.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print with larger margins, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot remove my printer

    Hi all

I tried to remove my printer (it did not work, so I tried to reinstall).

I went into the control panel of configuration/printers, then right-click on my printer and press 'delete device '. The icon became gray and it has been like this for 3 days now. You can see on the bottom, it says ' status: removing device "."  I can't reinstall (does not recognize the printer).

How can I get rid of this?

I uninstalled all the HP software and delete a bunch of registry entries on the 8610. It's still there...

    Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the HP community @Felix_B,

I read your post about the troubles you are experiencing remove the printer from your Windows 10 system, and I hope that I can help you with questions. I think it could be stuck print jobs in the print queue, so recommend some things to try to get over there.

Please start by trying the following steps:

    Step 1: Check print spooler:

    source

    1. Open your screen to Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. In the start screen, type run
    3. Click Run to launch the run dialogue box
    4. In the run box, type services.msc and click OK
    5. When the Services window opens scroll down until you see the print spooler
    6. Click Print Spooler once just to highlight
    7. If you Start in the upper left corner that indicates that your print spooler is actually stopped (not good). But we will leave that for now.
    8. If you stop or restart in the upper left corner, this indicates that your print spooler is actually started. Please click on stop to stop the service momentarily.
    9. Reduce this window which will allow us to come back here

Step 2: Check the spooler folder:

    1. Reopen your splash screen
    2. Computertype. Click on the computer (or on This PC) when it fills so
    3. In the computer window, select your Drive C
    4. Click on Windows
    5. Click on System32
    6. Click on the reel
    7. Click PRINTERS. You can get permissions to a warning, just continue beyond that.
    8. PRINTERS of the folder must be empty. If there is no file here, they are corrupt print jobs. Right click on anything in that folder and 'delete' files.
    9. Close the PRINTERS folder

Step 3: Start Spooler and audit dependencies:

1 open the Services window we previously minimized

    2. click on print spooler to highlight

    3. click on Start in the upper left corner

    4. If you get an error message please take note of this

    5. If the print spooler starts successfully you will see "stop and restart" as your options at the top left

    6. then, double left click on print spooler. A print spooler properties window is now open. Click the connection tab at the top. Can you please make sure that it is set to Local System account and make sure that the check box is selected to "Allow the Service to interact with desktop".

    7. then click on the tab "dependencies". Please check which dependencies are listed. I need to know this if the problem persists when you have completed the steps I provide in this post.

    8. click on apply and OK for any changes that you have made the log tab. Close the Services window.

Now try to access devices and printers and try to remove the printer.

I hope this helps, and if you have problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you. If these steps helped to solve the problem, click Accept as button Solution at the end of my post here please.

Will testify of our help in the forums by clicking on the thumbs up this message below!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: my printer HP Officejet pro 8610 ceased two-sided printing

Even if I check duplex printing as my selection, the print job is unilateral.  This feature is used to work perfectly.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi @-donna-1,.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Did you follow the steps described in the guide to see if you have the HP two sides printing accessory (duplexer) installed?

In the section: How can I auto duplex if my printer support?

If the problem persists, follow these steps:

Fix permissions of the drive on the Mac:

    1. Close all applications.
    2. In the Apple menu, click OK, click Applications, and then click utilities.
    3. Double-click disk utility.
    4. Highlight your hard drive / partition on the left.
    5. Click on check and then repair disk permissions.
    6. Restart the computer.

    Reset the printing system:

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

    1. Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.
    2. Click on printers and scanners.
    3. Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset Printing System.
    4. Click OK to confirm the reset.
    5. Type the name and the correct password.
    6. Click OK to reset the printing system.

    Add the printer:

    1. Then click the + to add the driver, select the printer (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer).

    I hope this helps.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: Lost the ability to scan high resolution on 8610

I was able to scan up to 2400 dpi with my scanner until yesterday, when I upgraded my cable modem.

The printer must be reinstalled to connect to my home network, and when I started a few scans this morning, the highest available dpi is 300.

What happened here?  Is there a possibility to acquire the old scanner software that I've used since the beginning?  I do a lot of scanning of the family vintage photo and aid resolution more largely in their cleaning.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I'd love to help you @unipenguin!

I see from your description that you could sweep with up to 2400 dpi with your scanner until you have had your modem cable replaced. I understand that you need to reinstall your printer for it to connect again. I know this may sound outrageous, but you may be the source of software updates to ADF? When the charger is selected, the max dpi will be 300, so my thought process.

If changing the source flat solves the problem, please click Accept as Solution button below. However, if you need more assistance let me know and I will do everything I can to help.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: Automatic double-sided printing

Lost my automatic double-sided printing - now it's printing of the front of the page and then he wants to get back into the tray to print on the back, which I never did before.  Please help me to get it back.

The function "automatic detection" used by some drivers during installation does not always; make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that he is present):

    • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
    • Select the device settings tab.
    • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

You will probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the settings of the device.

When scanning resolution is poor, how can I increase it to 300 DPI max... How to save picture under. BMP it currently only gives three options, PDF, OCR, or JPEG

Well well after literally hours of Googling being impossible to find anything at all on this unit or any other site, a friend suggested that I open the area to set up scanner on Mac itself... and to my amazement after a little digging here, I was able to find the settings for the CIO and the file type save high-resolution BMP images.
Why hell HP do not display anything in their pages help or on the LCD of the printer to indicate how do, I'm not sure. I'll be happy to send a screenshot to anyone who needs this info.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: estimate, more pages printed

My accont says more pages have been used.

Purge print jobs pending still counts towards the total monthly.

    Hello

In regards to instant ink is your request?

The only pages that are counted with instant ink are those that have ink on the page.  Paper jams are not counted either.

If there is no interruption of your internet printer connection, you can see that there are a few minor differneces between your total of the printed page, as well as the records of account due to interruptions in the connection to the server.  Your consistency of connection improves, that should also improve.
