HP Officejet Pro 8615: Custom paper size

I am trying to print on envelopes A9 size, but the printer sends the following error message: paper detected does not match the selected paper size.

There is no predefined options that match my papersize (5.75 "x 8.75") and I can't find a way to customize the size.  Is there a way to customize the paper size or disable the printer paper size sensor?

Hello

Set a custom paper size of 5.75 inches width and height of 8.75 inches within the operating system print server.

You can find an instructions step by step in the following link:

Found all useful instructions on creating new formats of paper custom in Windows 7. But am complete novice & need to buy a printer for a charity. Installs on this model because of good reviews, but more work will be 1 document of custom paper size. Need to know if the instructions are foolproof! (Before spending their money.)

    Hello invqn,

After some detailed research, as well as installing the Pro 8100 (and other products) on a Windows 7 system, we determined the 8100 Pro does not support custom sizes: this is by design and intent.

Note that one of our engineers proposes to use a different set of drivers (from an older device) as a possible workaround, but it is not proven and could be used to limit your overall functionality of the device.

However, we have confirmed that a newer device which is currently, the HP Officejet Pro 8610 (8620 or 8630) e-all-in-one, supports the formats customized; Here is the multifunctional printers.

By following the instructions in the link you sent, you can create new forms with custom formats and it will be displayed in the properties of the printer to get a job / select. It supports custom formats of 3,00 x 8.50 x 14.00 5.00 in. in.

Our intention is only to provide information about what we know; you could take a moment and perhaps see if a representative Marketing HP might be able to give you more information, but that's what we have.

    We hope this helps...

  • Officejet Pro 8600 custom paper sizes

I just replaced my Officejet Pro 8500 with a 8600.  I NEED to print on paper that is 4.88 "x 8.25".  How can I get the printer to accept this paper?  I use Word 2010 and that you set the paper size in Word, but the printer indicates the paper size does not match.

  • HP OfficeJet 8600 and Custom paper sizes

I have a HP OfficeJet 8600 for 2 years now, and I've never had a problem with it until today.

I bought a few cards with inserts that I can print on, however, because it is a custom size, I can't print on it. The printer has no option to set a custom paper size.

So, I do the obvious thing and Google a solution. The firmware update I read... no luck. The update utility can't find my printer on the network even if I print it to 3 different computers, and I can browse his IP in Chrome and check the Web page.

Try a different driver (Win 64-bit 8.1)... the steps that I follow do not work, and when I get them to work, there is nothing different.

I tried to do on my MacBook Pro too, but I can not do anything there either.

Totally ridiculous, which releases a product with this MASSIVE floor!

I am very angry that now I have to put it back write more than 100 of these cards

So I found out how to check the updates of the printer itself, and I have updated firmware, so that rules out.

  • Custom paper size

How can I go and change my custom paper size. It is not in my properties. I want to change to 8.5 x 11 in.

    I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more. I use 64 bit Windows 7

    Hi Wbsalter,

Defining the dimensions of support for custom format is available in the HP printing software in Mac OS X. However, given that 8.5 x 11 is a 'normal' size, this is how you define it:

Control Panel > devices and printers > right click on the 6500 a and choose printing options > click on the paper/quality tab > choose "Letter" paper format

This should set the paper size for what you are wanting.

  • Adding a custom paper size

I have a HP Officejet 7000 Wide format printer and want to print a banner continues (36 x 8 1/2 in.) without having to restore a bunch of sheets of paper.    With my previous HP printer, there was a way to set up a custom paper size, but I could not find such a framework on this new printer.  Is there something obvious that I'm missing or has been removed for this feature on the new model?

Already tried this unfortunately.  (Working in Publisher, OS Win 7)  Eventually move to another printer for the banner.  Would be nice to have this feature, in the future, if possible updates.

    Thank you anyway 007OHMSS

    Hey @C_Wolf,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with printing to your Windows 7 PC to your Officejet Pro 8615 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Remove the USB cable to the back of the printer.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. Click on start and open devices and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for any other icon of your printer listed.
    7. Connect the USB cable.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print quickly, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

I've created some custom paper sizes that are available under a pdf printer but not my hp printer

    Hello

On 8 x 4 in, you earn a 4 inches in width or length?

Be aware that a length of 4-inch is not supported by the hardware (5.0 to 14.0 inches) and so not to appear, if this is the problem in fact just change between the height and width settings for the shape and orientation of the paper...

  • HP 9500 win 7 custom paper size tray 1

I have 12 x 18 paper loaded in Tray 1.  The control panel is correctly set.  Our office has a mixture of windows and Mac and have always been able to print on paper 12 x 18, in the #1 tray.  I recently bought a new computer running Win 7 64 bit.  The driver "HP Color LaserJet 9500 PCL 6" of windows does not support custom paper sizes.  I tried to create forms under the print server properties, but custom sizes do not appear when I'm in my applications.  5 PCL and PCL 6 UPD pilots paper 12 x 18 in option, but when I use these drivers of the printer fails to pull the good paper from Tray 1.  With Acrobat, it defaults to 8-1/2 x 11 paper and prints a second sheet indicating:

    PCL XL error

    Subsystem: VECTOR

    WARNING: IllegalMediaSize

With AutoCad, using the UPD and printing on paper 12 x 18, control panels flashes and asks me to load the A3 paper into Tray #1.  Change the size of the margin in my application doesn't seem to help.

I'm an architect and paper 12 x 18 is essential.  Thanks in advance.

After exhausting any permutation of the driver options, I reluctantly installed the PostScript of the UPD driver.  Problem solved!  Printing on paper 12 x 18 in Tray 1 works perfectly.  There is clearly a problem with the UPD PCL5 and PCL6 drivers.
