You won't have access to all the features, but the basic printing features should work.  Mix and match until you find one that works.

  My goal was to scan photos. To do this, I need the HP, but not all of the characteristics recommended solution Center.

  I understand that you have renamed your wifes computer and now when you try to scan to the computer to the printer displays the old computer name and the new. You may need to restart the computer and the printer to erase the old name of the computer display.

  I am sending a fax through a MagicJack Plus using my PowerSpec PC with Windows 7 Professional. I get an error message 388 - any ideas on what this means? I have read that HP have sometimes problems in using the fax with VOIP devices - I put my fax speed to slow down but got the same error.

  HP has a document with explanations for the different error codes.  The document can be found here.

  388 error code means there is too much noise in the line of a fax to send.  If you have lowered the fax transmission speed and off ECM (error correction mode), then most likely, you receive the error, this MagicJack connection will not work.

  I have 64-bit Windows 8.1.   I installed Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one-made N-911 using OJ8600 - 1315.exe.   The printer and the software worked fine in Windows 7.   Windows 8.1, the printer works well wirlessly.   It prints, scans, and copies without problem.   I can use the printer window to start scanning and copying.   However, I have an icon on the 8.1 Windows Start Page that says Officejet Pro 8600.   When I click it, it opens a window labled HPSolutionsPortal.hta - Microsoft Visual Studio.  I don't get the Officejet software where I can control the resolution of the scans and files generated by the printer.   How can I access the HP Officejet Pro software?

  Locate the prefix .hta , double click on it, click More Options and select the Microsoft (R) HTML Application Host instead of the selected Visual Studio.

  First step: clear temp directory

  1. Type %temp% term or search programs and files of field
  2. Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).
  3. Proceed to step 2 below

  Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

  1 download the drivers and full software features

  2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.

  3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation

  4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

  5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

  6. right click on the folder and select copy

  7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.

  8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop

  9 open the Util folder

  10 open the CCC folder

  11 start the uninstall_L4

  12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder

  14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  15 open the 7z folder and then double-click the Setup.exe file that will be towards the bottom of the open window. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.
