HP Pavilion 15-e028us: so... my laptop charger port is fried. Is it possible to fix it?

I read somewhere that if the charger is connected to the motherboard, then it is impossible to fix. I'm no expert when it comes to computer hardware, so I need help

.

Here's my poor laptop:

http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00E3XBFQS?keywords=15-e028us&QID=1444585325&ref_=sr_1_1&SR=8-1

If it is possible, how much would it cost to repair? My insurance ran out last year

It is not impossible to fix. The power supply is a separate thing from pigtail that plugs into the motherboard.

It is the part:

(13) power connector cable 719859-001

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

See page 20 for a diagram of the inside parts of the laptop and Pages 92-93 for the instructions of assembly/disassembly.

The good news is that there are no welding. I suggest you find a local computer repair shop, ask for references and get them each bidding against each other for the work. About 60 to 100 dollars would be a normal workload and the part is very good cheap:

$6 on eBay

Let us know if you need help most. Replace this module would be the first step in diagnosis, and it may be, as mentioned above, that additional repair is required, but you don't know until you try.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: help! HP Pavilion laptop charger works not properly.

    Hey!

My laptop charger is malfunctioning. We all know that if a device is unplugged and use it permanently, it will possibly miss fees.  If the problem is when my charger is plugged in, it do not charge the cell phone or laptop to run out of charge instead it neutralizes the battery and allows him the same percentage it is (46% will remain as 46%).  I just realized this problem last month, but I don't know what is the real problem. If this is the problem of the charger, it wouldn't charge or neutralize my battery at all. It is more likely that the port of loading is the problem but at the moment, we don't know.  What can I do?

Also note that load capacity: 89%. This means that your battery is exhausted. This is the max your battery can take care of.

It is an indication of some possibilities. I would try #1 first, then #2.

    (1) a problem with the AC adapter. It's probably not that the question if you are able to remove the battery, connect the power adapter and start-up in Windows.

    (2) in the battery method control compatible ACPI Microsoft operating system device drivers could be damaged.  See the image below.

    Call the Device Manager.

Uninstall the driver from the power adapter plugged. Ignore the warning.

After it is uninstalled, right click on any device and select search the hardware changes.

The operating system must install a new copy of the device compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery driver.

    (3) failure of the circuit electrical distribution\charging on the motherboard

If it does not help it is time to use the warranty. The battery, adapter and motherboard are replaceable without cost to you, as long as the warranty is still in effect.

  • HP pavilion: can you connect a laptop with a charger of some?

I'm just curious to know if there is a way to match up with his original laptop charger? My roommate recently bought the exact same kind I have. She goes on holiday for 3 days and I got my charger all the time. As soon as she is mine disappeared. I don't KNOW its mine. That's why I ask this question.

    Hello

Normally a charger can be used for more than one laptop even, they are not the same model. Back to your question: no, unless you registered s/n elsewhere or put your name on it.

  • Pavilion 15-P001TX: battery will not charge!

    Hello
I bought my HP Pavilion 15-p001tx of the Amazon at the beginning of the month. It was a good deal and I had fun playing Call of duty black ops. Then a notification came to show that I should plug the charger. But when I plugged in the charger, another notification came telling me to plug a smart adapter for best perfomance. Now, the system tray showed me that the laptop is plugged in but not charging!
What the hell! I looked for answers and someone suggested to uninstall power microsoft acpi compliant control and restart the laptop. I did as I said, but with no use! Now, when I plug the laptop (it does) a small orange LED lights up but when I turn on my laptop, it suddenly turns off suddenly.
I'm so frustrated! Can someone help me!

  • Question about laptop charger

Dear customers of toshiba, and Toshiba

I bought a Toshiba Satellite S2400 in the past. My father is currently using a Toshiba Qosmio laptop F10. My laptop charger is defective and is currently not available to use. My question is: is it possible to use the charger laptop Qosmio F10-101 of my father for my laptop Toshiba S2400 to charge my battery until I get a new laptop computer charger?

    Thank you

    Hello

Theoretically, it should be possible to use it, but I put t know if the polarity is the same one side if two laptops have the same domain controller into the slot. It will be perhaps better to wait for a new. ;)

Yes, this should be a 90-Watt adapter and should be more than enopugh to power the laptop, as long the plug that connects to the laptop computer is the same, you're good to go.

  • Nine computer Compaq 610 laptop charger does not work. Help, please!

I went through 3 Chargers and charger port repair.  I am so confused about why not charging my phone.

My first broken charger comes out of usury, but he had to stand on a corner charge.  I really want to continue to use it so I help him on an angle so he could load.  It ruined the port and the charger completely.

The second charger, I bought was from Hong Kong on eBay, I know your probably thinking that wasn't a smart move, but he had the right replacement part number it is said on the first charger.  This charger was incredibly hot but he quieted worked for awhile.  Finally one day rubber melted and was all dealt with.  It melted if bad it was bad to get the magazine back in the port, but I got it.  Then after that use more rubber would melt it got warm every time and once the charger would not come out.  I pulled it out with a lot of force and then the final piece got a little separated from taking part.  Then the charger now must be held in hard and a slight tilt to make it work.

I bought a new one with the right part number and it seems to be smaller than the three other broken.  I just plugged it in for the first time a few minutes ago and it started to load perfectly for about 20 seconds.  I was so releived, until I checked a second time and he stopped to load!  I don't know why, but it is not only in charge at all!  I plugged again many, he waved a little and tried to take the battery out and then try to turn on my laptop.  But no matter what I do it still will not charge.  Is the most funny thing is that the old one can still.

I called HP to help and the talker suggested using "active chat" online with them.  He can't have my phone so I can't speak for them.  I tried FAQ and reading the forums of other people, but nothing helped.

Can someone tell me why on earth that keep breaking all shippers of m.  Even though I bought a new and my laptop reparied it still broken.  I treated the new one with a lot of care.  Can someone also tell me why there is a new not work and why is the old man?  The problem with my computer laptop port battery etc or is it just the charger?  If I did not explain something correctly, or you need more information and where I bought things and my laptop and charger specifications and details please ask and I will tell you in detail.  This forum post is one of my last hopes.  Please if you cannot resolve the problem yourself at least guide me to who or where I could get help from.

If you have read all this I thank very you much for your help and please if you have any information to tell me.  Thank you regarding any future assignment.

I have no idea why, but I changed the portion of the charger that goes into the wall with the former and it started to load!

Thank you for answering anyway, but it was not the port.  Yes, he finally goes to work now! YAHOO

  • My VAIO laptop charge to 80%. Is this a bad battery?

My Vaio laptop charge to 80%. Is this an indication of a bad battery? When plugged in the message states: "80% of available power (plugged in, does not support).

    Hello bdare,

All batteries have a limited life expectancy (a limited number of charge/discharge cycles). To increase battery life, the Sony battery maintenance program allows the user to choose a setting to stop laptop at 80% or 50% battery charge, which increases the useful life of the battery. Constant 100% charge and discharge of a battery creates additional wear on its load cells and decreases battery life expectancy. Maintenance of the battery of the parameters are in the VAIO Control Center application.

Battery maintenance is disabled by default, but if a user commonly uses the laptop plugged in on current alternative for long periods, the battery will be beneficial to allow maintenance of the battery, not letting the battery charges to 80%. When it is disconnected from the power supply, the battery will not work the system as long with only 80% of costs, but it will save the cycles of load on piles and let the battery perform well for an extended period before the need for replacement.

  • Satellite A300D - 13 X - charger port is tired

    Hey.

I've had my Toshiba A300D - 13 X 16 months, was very good place to find out.
I have three different Chargers and none of them work with the laptop when they have previously.

So I came to the conclusion, the charger port is tired.
I had someone around to watch and he basically said to get a new one.

Is this a common occurrence with an easy solution?
Is possible to change the port of the charger?

    Hello

You plan the adapter port AC which is mounted on the motherboard is defective?
Hmm that's too bad because in most cases, this port is soldered on the motherboard and it would not be able to remove it easily.

First of all the whole notebook must be dismantled to get access to the motherboard.
    It's really, really difficult procedure
and finally, it would be necessary to check what's exactly wrong

This is definitely a job for a technician
I'm not very well if the technician would be able to repair or replace such port m
Maybe the whole motherboard must be replaced and it would be a costly affair

  • E5 - 474G Force USB charging port

I just bought Aspire E5 - 474G laptop. It is said in the brochure that she has turned off of the features of USB charging port, but she did not mention which took port support the feature.

Also, I can't find a manual to the user appropriate (either on paper or online). The only thing I could find is on Windows 10.

Take a close look at your USB ports, you will notice a small logo of battery USB on one side, it is the port of loading.

The charging port on the laptop seems to the eye, didn't notice any visible damage. I have to recharge my battery using laptop of her husband... We have the same type battery. The charger works fine.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

So much worse... spoke to a gateway tech and he told me the problem is the chipset that controls the loading or the port itself.

    Thanks anyway,

  • charge port problem

Hey guys I use an Iphone 5 16 GB and, recently, I found that my charger is not working properly so I change the cable and the problem is still there.

My iphone does not load, BUT when I put a small piece of paper or something like that under the "cable plug" (sorry I don't know what to call it) and it works perfectly.

So my question is: is it possible to fix this? Or can I replace the charger port?

Hello, it seems that your charger port is broke off or a cable lost the appropriate connection. Your charger to another iPhone, try to find what is the problem. If it works fine with another iPhone, which means that your device needs to fix the charger port. In this case, it is best to take it to the service of Apple.
