HP Pavilion 15-n213TX: the upgrade of my WiFi adapter to acre.

Hey there,

I am interested upgrading my computer WiFi card laptop 15-n213TX HP Pavilion (Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn) to a Wireless AC in order to enjoy a faster internet.
I have a few questions on a Amazon ad for one and was basically told to check on HP forum to ensure that it works very well in my laptop (some blocked or something?).
Would this plug for me?

http://www.Amazon.com/Intel-7260-HMWG-wireless-AC-7260-Bluetooth/DP/B00DMCVKMU

If not what are the options I have / can someone point me in the direction of one who will?

Thanks in advance

HP abandons the 'white list' that you kept to settle any wifi adapter you want to back a bit: well before your model which is fairly new.  See p. 44 of the manual here:

Manual

You have an Intel processor and the wifi module that you logged on amazon.com works perfectly once you load the correct driver.

    Hello

I don't plan on specific issues.  You will need to reuse the existing heatsink.

Review a couple of uTube videos of Intel i7-2600 installation so that you get the feel of what you need to do.

I suggest that you plan to install latest BIOS update for your PC and your PC stable before you proceed with the replacement of the processor.  It could not hurt to run diagnostics to make sure that your PC hardware is stable.

If you experience problems after installing, then try to clear the CMOS memory.

  • Pavilion s5-1015uk: the upgrade of processor

Tried to upgrade the CPU on my desk of slimline s5-1015uk Pavilion to an i7 - 2600K quad core CPU. The HP support document has stated that the Cupertino would a QuadCore i7-2xxx - but the pc gave the message that island cpu is not recognized and set off. Someone knows why?

That's because an Intel Core i7 2xxx option isted in the motherboard specifications published includes not a processor Intel Core i7 - 2600K or 2600M 2600 s

The designation of three xxx represents 'don't care' electronic terminology n numbers and anything else a added to them.

A processor Intel Core i7 2600 CPU would have been recognized, but not, as you now know, an Intel Core i7 - 2600K processor.

Here are the applicable maintenance manual:

    Manual download

Look at pages 26-28. Each motherboard has a different processor, so processors are welded on. In theory, you could buy one of the motherboards with a better processor (about one of them would be better than this thing AMD E1).

However, these motherboards with integrated processor tend to be very expensive.

  • HP Pavilion 500-164: the upgrade of the graphics card and power supply on a HP Pavilion 500-164

I'll be upgrading my HP pavilions integrated HD graphics 8570 D a STRIX ASUS GeForce GTX overclocked 2 GB DDR5 128 - bit DisplayPort HDMI 1 750TI. 4 a/DVI-I graphics card. With that I also improve my diet to a Thermaltake TR2 500W 240 pins power power TR-500. I was wondering if it of ok to do on the computer and will not damage it. It is extra steps when I install these. Initially, I got the PC with windows 8 but have upgraded to windows 10.

    Hello

If the ASUS 750 TI requires a 6-pin auxiliary power connector and your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS then you should be OK.  Open your PC and measure to make sure that graphics card fits.  In addition, open the command RUN and enter: MSINFO32

Your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS?  If so, and if it is possible to install the graphics card then go ahead. Find out what the return policy is before you buy.

  • Pavilion 13-a113cl: the upgrade of the hard disk on a Pavilion 13 x 360 (13-a113cl) to an SSD

I have an old 13-Pavilion x 360 with a 1 TB hard drive 5 400 rpm in it and wanted to know if I could pass it to an SSD. If so are there requirements the SSD must meet (such as under a certain storage capacity) and is there hardware and/or software addition that I would need to do this?

Hi @devon-w! Yes, you can make your laptop with a SSD if you want. Once you get it, you can decide whether or not to perform a new installation of the operating system, or you can try to clone the current operating system installed with some cloning software. As far as I know, there is no limit on the size of the SSD, but I might suggest to keep your drive HARD current as an external storage location secondary data (movies, music, etc.), as long as it is not a failure of course. I hope this helps and good luck!

  • Pavilion 15-N297SA: just upgrade Wi - Fi WiFi & Bluetooth

I have the laptop above which, according to the inside, it has only WiFi (I'm sure site says it had BT as well, but no matter) in any case been looking at upgrading HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide which can be found here:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04438537

In any case looking at page 44 he stated a few modules that can be used (I'm sure I've read I can't throw anything into HP stuff because they have some sort of whitelist) looked so much in their manual and he following States can be used.

    • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11 bgn Wi - Fi adapter 675794-001
    • RALink RT3290LE 802.11 bgn 1 × 1 Wi - Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 adapter 690020-001
    • Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi - Fi adapter 709848-001
    • Intel Wireless-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 to computer combo adapter
      models with Intel processors
    • Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi - Fi adapter 733476-001

It's the image of what I now have in their right

So if I want to go to a WiFi/BT unit in a do I just need to buy one of these:

    RALink RT3290LE 802.11 bgn 1 × 1 Wi - Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 adapter 690020-001
    Intel Wireless-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth

and shove in there and update the drivers, also how not BT is worth as much as to need an antenna, as my WiFi back two internal antennas...

    Hello:

You should be able to throw in any model of map without wireless/bluetooth HMC you want.

HP got rid of the authorization of BIOS about 15 months ago.

For your model, I would recommend an Intel card with bluetooth such as Intel 7260 abgn or KT card.

Antennas only you need are two courses.  BT works perfectly.

Optionally, do WiDi, like I did just in Exchange for the card wireless on my new G1 of 350 HP.

You can see my post on the Intel forum below.
