HP Pavilion 15-n278sa: maximum temperatures of HP Pavilion 15-n278sa

Hi all

is there any where that I can confirm the maximum temperatures recommended for components in my laptop?

I'm under CPUID HWMonitor after having just bought a cooling pad but I don't know if the "temperature max" values are playing to my machine or are simply arbitrary.

Also, am I correct that you do not know the speed of the fan on this model with any application of diagnostic or monitoring?

The max is the max that he never measured for your machine. These times are reasonable and very good for your laptop. If you start to see years 70 and 80 on the GPU and the kernel start to worry

Hello guys and sorry for my language.

Can you tell me what is the optimum temperature for this laptop and what is the maximum temperature?
    Thank you

    Hello

The CPU temperature is based on a large number of factors and also depending on the CPU model.

Why is it so important to you?

If you start Toshiba PC Health Monitor, you can check the temperature. It shows a graph of reading.

  • HP DV7-3063cl laptop PC: what is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 3063 cl with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.

The computer seems to run very hot and stopped twice from overheating during its first period of 2 weeks when it there was not a lot of calculating, fan was run at top speed at all times, and the laptop was high to allow good airflow below.

According to the program of the Open Hardware Monitor, the CPU had reached 97-99 C a few times. I bought support cooling a player and that seems to help a lot, dropping the temperature to 20 ° C.

What is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

Anything more than 90 c is too hot. You can specify the processor and the motherboard you have installed?

Also if this from the Manual:

Thermal paste is used on 1 CPU and heat sink section 2 that the services it. Thermal pads are used on the chip Northbridge 3 and 4, the graphical subsystem chip 5 contact Northbridge and graphics/heatsink contact 6. Thermal material replacement is included with all kits of spare parts of processor, heatsink and system board.

So unless you have changed the cooling system to heat composed on the chip graphic you should have used a thermal buffer. Without the pad, it may leave just a small hallway and destroy the cooling properties. You can use a shim in copper or other piece of something metal to fill the void, but if you just put the heat sink down on the video chip you won't get optimal even with thermal cooling paste.

I Googled it and it looked in the manual, but I can't find it. Does anyone know what is the maximum of the statement of Smartband, when temperature under water? (It's another temperature that one who is on maximum and minimum air temperature, I'm right?)

    Thanks in advance, Rik

I'm sorry I misread, but I would use my presentation of smartband under water in a bathtub or a Jacuzzi.

But should I address your care local Xperia for more information.

  • How to determine the maximum temperature in a row of 2 minutes?

    I make the following request:

    (1) temperature signal reads in all the 1 second, set in a while loop;

    (2) I want to assure you that in a consecutive 2 minute, the temperature value is always less than a value, say 10 degree C;

    (3) if she can meet the test, returns the value true, otherwise, continue to follow until it is true.

Possible ways to define a 1 d array with 120 elements, but I would like to know if there is a more elegant way? I can't put the table in a Subvi, when it is destroyed once the Subvi is left. LabVIEW edition offers the function of calculation of "RMS" (everything is in a under VI) and I do not have the function used in this VI.

If I understand the message of openness he wants to just wait that temperature is less than a threshold for at least 2 minutes, then exit?

Something like this should do if that's the case.

  • XPS 15 9550 GPU and CPU to reach maximum temperature?

    Hello

I recently got the XPS 15 9550 i5-6300HQ and GTX 960 M. It's beautiful but when NLB is games that it becomes warm to the touch but not excessive, but I followed the material time and he reaches up to 85 degrees GPU (then fan goes crazy, until it lowers once again) and 80 degrees CPU. It can sometimes keep 80 degrees on both for the entire session. I appreciate is when they work hard but these temperatures too high for my laptop? I can't find that Dells limits recommended. I have not noticed any limitation. Other users have comparable temperatures?

For additional info in these temperatures, the GPU running at 100 percent and the CPU on all 4 cores about 70 percent.

    Thank you!

A little more follow-up, in the case where it is useful.  I found a review of the XPS 15 9550 on notebookcheck.net, dated 12/23/2015.  They said "the GPU temperature does not fluctuate as much as the CPU: it can reach 90 ° C, where limitation of the sets in and the temperature of the GPU will stabilize at about 70 ° C."

They give an image of a video stress test which includes a photo of the utility HWInfo of surveillance.  It shows the GPU reaches 90 c, but strangled at 70 ° C by reducing its clock speed.  In their fatigue test, the GPU clock is reduced to 600 s and GPU memory up to 400 MHz.

When I run stress tests, accompanied by HWInfo for monitoring sensors, my GPU clock remains higher than 1100 MHz and GPU memory remains at 1252.8.  It never decreases and the temp is around 90 C.

I have no idea if the limitation is controlled by software or the GPU itself.  Dell, nor NVIDIA me could provide useful information on this.  If it's a software framework somewhere in the NVIDIA Control Panel, I don't know where to find it.

  • Satellite L650-14F maximum and minimum temperature on idle

Hello guys and I hope that my question is not absurd. What is the maximum temperature on what kind of laptop? AS some of you may know, L650-14F has a strange coolyng system: http://img580.imageshack.us/i/dsc0092111.jpg/

for example, I play poker at PKR, 3D software and the CPU temperature is 63-68 degrees Celsius, and I idle mode, somewhere between 45-56.

    Thank you

At first, I must say that the cooling system is not strange. One thing is confusing background of s for laptop computer plastic box. This plastic box is the same for many models of laptop computers, and these models have different cooling systems. Some of them needs cold air (down-hole), and some of them, like mine A660 have no holes on this place.

Anyway there is no reason to panic and temperature on your laptop is quite normal.

  • maximum and minimum temperature

Hello, I have read several posts on how to fix my problem, but unfortunately I have a problem with my VI. I want the maximum and minimum, this temperature on the front panel. I don't know if I have 2 while loops or only 1. The problem in the current VI is, when you run it, it will stay inside the while loop. If the minimum and maximum temperature will always present the same value. Could someone tell me what I need to change to allow the work of VI. Thanks for the help.

Get rid of the loop internal so that comparison is done whenever a new number is generated.

There are some additional things, that you can do to clean up the code, but which is essential.

  • 130 ° C overheating Pavilion g6

    Hello-

I had a chronic problem with my g6 Pavlion (AMD A6 - 4400M, 4.00 GB Single - Channel DDR3). The fan runs constantly at high speed, the computer itself gets very hot and, sometimes, the fan is really loud just with an open program. I downloaded a program called Speccy to check what components are in my computer before I posted here. Speccy also indicates the temperature of the processor, motherboard, graphics card and hard drive.

So, I sent a screenshot of my Speccy to my friend who better computers that I am and he panicked when he saw my results. He noticed the processor running at 122 ° C and tell me it's not good and that my computer should be turned off or consumed by this point. He suggested I clean the fan fan, but its so hard to do without a little know how. So I cleaned vacuuming on the different events and I noticed a drastic change in the fan speed, works much more slowly. But the temperature of the processor goes from between 90 ° and 120 ° C, depending on how many program or even browser tabs open.

So I'm not sure what should be the next step. I saw this link, and it made me wonder if the fan is covered with dust and hair. http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01657439

I read the site AMD processors maximum temperature is 100 °, I don't want to fry my computer like an egg.

I have two of my Speccy reports, before moving the vacuum cleaner and the other after included (higher temperatures are empty). I watched a video on youtube how to get to fan Pavilion G6, a little to dismantle before hitting the fan. Is there a suggestion or advice that someone could give me about this situation?

    Best regards

    RJB

    p.s. that's currently at 103 ° C

Hi 1stTimeLaptoper, welcome to the Forums of HP. First of all, let me say that this was an excellent post! You are right to worry about the temperature. The life expectancy of a processor is directly related to the heat, he gets and how many times it's hot. Troubleshooting you supplied to the right money for the first step. Did you also follow the link at the bottom to: Fan Noisy and rotates constantly, PC is hotter than normal

It is a journey to reach the fan in a notebook. I guess you're not in the warranty period, otherwise you would call for repair under warranty right?
I have included the: HP Pavilion Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide of g6.  In this regard, page 69 results in the instructions to get to the Fan & Heatsink.

If you go so far as to reapply thermal paste, I recommend to see this older YouTube video, to the application process: Installation composed thermal (NCIX Tech Tips #11)

    I hope this helps.

  • Catastrophic customer service, Pavilion dv7 laptop STILL not repaired, shuts down randomly

I've had a Pavilion dv7-6c95dx for over 6 months now and 1 week after I bought it, the laptop began to stop randomly. Firstly that it happened sometimes, usually once a week. When this problem occurred, I had to open the Task Manager, as well as SpeedFan and Manager tasks showed that everything worked well minus 50% of their capacity and SpeedFan has indicated that all systems (HARD drive, processor, motherboard) were running at 50 degrees Celsius (when I talked with a representative from HP on the phone, they told me that their products are supposed to operate at the maximum temperature is 90 degrees Celsius). I assumed it was a small issue, and, after a few months, to see if Windows 7 because of the problem, I installed Ubuntu (Linux). The same problem. I then reinstalled Windows 7, Ubuntu and even threw in a copy of Windows 8 for good measure and the same problem kept happening, but now it would be up to 4 TIMES a DAY. It would be closed (meaning that just go to a black screen, with the familiar sound of hard-stop which makes the fan) usually when I'm either: play a video game, who does not use a lot of RAM or CPU at all and is not graphic, or watch a YouTube video, usually HD and full screen. I'd hear the fan starts pumping a little (I knew it could get loud if necessary, but it's never told fort) and usually after a minute or two, he would have hard stop and then restart itself. So after 3 months of daily irritations, I decided to take my laptop to Geek Squad in the best buy, the store where I bought the unit. Geek Squad was no help: I sent the unit in 4 TIMES and first they said that the problem was "A defective HDD," they replaced, without success, and the other 3 times, they could not reproduce the problem, so that was the MONTH wholly wasted and worn out waiting for my computer back. I then asked to call HP, in the store, because when I called HP, I was not able to get a straight answer and HP, after AN HOUR of talking on the phone in the store, with a Geek Squad Manager, has reluctantly agreed to send me a box to pack up my computer and send it to HP service center. I received a call from HP after the computer and surprise, surprise, they could not reproduce the problem either! I asked about a policy of lemon no., and they said they didn't know what to do to that, of course, continue to send the laptop. When I got my laptop, I also got an email from HP asking me to rate my experience, and after I gave them the low ratings consistenly, so only I was able to speak to a case under the name of Kevin E Manager. He told me that I have to send the laptop in for "more extensive testing" (I'm not sure what this means, should not run them not testing the most extensive possible THE FIRST TIME AROUND)?) and when I asked about the policy of lemon no., he said after I send it, they will look at "other options." This time, the heat sink has been replaced, because for some reason, the laptop was running at 90 degrees Celsius, (which never happened in all my time to possess, to the best of my knowledge) but, of course, they were unable to reproduce the original problem. When I got my laptop, there was still the problem. When I called HP back, Kevin told me that at this point, they may send a representative to my home. 15 minutes before the arrival of the local representative, the closed laptop. I was relieved, because I thought it meant that I could reproduce the problem and show him. However, after waiting for an hour, with more applications running that generally required to shut down the computer, he WORKS PERFECTLY. As a matter of fact, the representative took the home unit for 3 days, and it worked perfectly. When she returned, of course, could do nothing about it. This device has been repaired 7 times now, and it is a shame. Kevin called me today ' today - in fact, it was after 1 week of waiting for a response from "24 to 48 hours." Moreover, off the 8 times that Kevin has promised to follow with me, it was only once I received a call during the response time promised 24-48 hours-another 7 times, it's me calling to him.

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed by the products and the HP customer service and would certainly not bought this device from them if I had known that I have would have been treated this way.

  • ExpertDay query-overheating problem with my Pavilion DV6

    Mr President

First of all, thank you for holding this meeting online.

The laptop in question is only a Pavilion DV6 6121tx with product # QB367PA bought the India

The problem is that the Palm becomes too hot after 10-15 min of use. Please note that it is not a problem with the fan/radiator because they are new and the thermal paste is also cool. CPU and GPU temperatures are quite fine and are cool.

My doubt is what we call the PCH, which becomes too hot. JFYI, the PCH is located just below the palmrest area that becomes hot...

Please take a look at the snapshot

My apologies for the bad image. That's why I removed it.

I agree with chipset problem. I think indeed that this chip is the 'problem '.

Also, be aware that your laptop is not designed to play games.

OK I agree that this laptop run most of the games but it will warm up as a side effect.

    However,.

I searched for information on the PCB and the maximum temperature is...

The PCH may not work above
    + 108 ° C.

    (Page 239)

This is the reason why it took so long

You can find it here. Be warned!

This document has 900 + pages

    http://www.Intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/6-chipset-C200-chipset-datasheet.PDF

I think it is a mistake to small design. but it's not going to kill your laptop.

If your continuous pch to 100 for a long time, then you can leave the rest of the laptop for a while.

    Drunks.

  • Pavilion p6217uk Desktop fan problems

Hi just got a hp pavilion desktop p6217uk yesterday and I seem to have a problem with the fan. It becomes very quiet (even off I think) and then progressively louder until she screams so I can't hear the sound from the speakers more. It does at the start of A), B) when I connect and C) about every time I play a game or run an application. He is really strong and the constant turning power is boring. Surely this cant be good? Does anyone know of a fix for this? Help would be appreciated thank you, Ben.

    ubertoad wrote:
Okay, I think that's definitely the problem... IM using speedfan to monitor the temperature of my CPU and idle is around 70 * c but when im playing games that goes up to about 100 * CUbertoad, I don't know what the maximum temperature for your CPU, but the slow down time even seem a little high.  Charging times are definitely out of sight.  I suggest to contact the HP Customer Service.  Something needs to be corrected until irreversible damage are due to the system.  This kind of heat only will not damage the CPU, but the outlet, too.

  • Qosmio F50-126 - fan speed never htting maximum

    Hey

This question been bothering me for a long time but was too lazy to write about it. When I start my laptop, you can hear the fan speed reaching its maximum RPM. But during the game when the laptop is about to reach its maximum temperature for restart, the speed of the fan never hits its maximum RPM. It always seems to be about 50 percent when it will hit the threshold of overheating.

Can you tell me how to solve this problem, so the laptop is we fan maximum RPM during the games or another cpu/gpu intensive process?

I have the latest BIOS and drivers installed to date.

Plan to use everything at stake?
Check the method of cooling for this power plan and set it to maximum performance.

  • What temperature is essential - Satellite A100-411

    Hello

I use my laptop for DJing and a stop would be terrible on a concert.
I installed speedfan on my Satellite A100-411 and when I was in her setting, I was wondering, what temperature would be critical, causing a cpu stop or other errors.

SpeedFan is followed by three CPU (Core Duo T2250), HD (Hitachi Travelstar) and GPU (GeForce 7600) temperatures.
It would be great to know what are the maximum temperatures of security of each of the components of this.

    Sincerely,
    DJ Hondai

    Hello

Unfortunately, I n t think that Toshiba provides such information in any other public document.
I found in the user manual that the requirements of the environment and the laptop should be used in the temperature range of 5 to 35 ° C.
But there is nothing about the temperature of the single components.

You can try to check the Intel website for details of the CPU and possibly it you will find information on critical operating temperature.

    Hi all

Anyone know the maximum temperature of the processor for F20 - 155?
The temperature that cannot be exceeded.

    Kind regards
    Akram

    Hello

As far as I know this device was delivered with a CPU Intel-Pentium-M (Dothan) 770 2.13 GHz.
I found this page that the maximum base Temperature is 100 degrees Celsius
    http://www.ThinkWiki.org/wiki/Intel_Pentium_M _ (Dothan) #Thermal_Specifications

I think that the operating temperature should be around 60 C.
Information on the Intel site, you should find:
    http://www.Intel.com/products/processor/PentiumM/index.htm

But computers laptop Toshiba supports an overheating protection. If the temperature is too high and the temperature increases at critical level the notebook will automatically stop.
