  I n t have this model of laptop, but I think that the principle is the same as on other laptops.

  Start Toshiba Assist > Optimize > HWSetup > and you will find the keyboard backlight options.

  Hello, I want to configure the keyboard backlight Timeout on Dell Latitude E6440. I use pre-installed Linux OS Ubuntu 12.04.2 Dell.

  But I still don't know how to change the keyboard backlight Timeout. Backlight is still off after 10 seconds. Is there some special - token for this timeout setting?

  According to other messages, looks like configring timeout to 5 minutes could be possible, as there are Windows applications that could do that (for example Dell System Manager Application checkpoint)

  Dell has now released tool called smbios-keyboard-ctl [1] for configurting keyboard backlighting (timeout and trigger). It is in repository libsmbios [2]. I tried and it works very well.

  I have a Samsung np550p5c-s05in and it came installed with 64-bit Windows 8, later, the hard drive developed a few problems and as I had guaranteed him, they were replaced by a new, but this one came with a victory 8 32-bit that is not enabled.   Some additional information. I received these photos of my granddaughter of my son with Dropbox. I checked the files under properties and found that they were listed as "some blocked properties" so I checked the box to 'unlock' and click on apply. The blocked message went away. Then, I took the original photos out of the folder of file they were in. I went back to LR and made sure those grey boxes with the Preview is not available for this file was missing. Then I went to the new files with the status of unlock in a new folder and tried to import into LR... same thing happens again! UGH

  Could you please copy the images of Dropbox in a new folder on the computer/pictures folder.

  Also, then try again to import images into Lightroom and also please check if you have read and write permissions on the images.

  In many cases the different keyboard would be consistent, since most of them are supported the same hardware specifications.

  With regard to the additional keyboard connector:
  AFAIK the backlight keyboard must be connected to the additional connector called * JBLG *.
  But to be honest, I have not found in on the photo that you placed in the post.

  No, as far as I know that this model of laptop is equipped with a common A4 + 10key standard plate black keyboard.

  Usually the backlight on the keyboard could be enabled or disabled by pressing FN + Z key.
