Computer HP Pavilion DV5000 laptop will not turn on or off

This laptop is used every day and worked perfectly until this morning.

I have attached the power cable and it works, but the screen remains blank. All lights normal power along the upper part of the keyboard are light, but that's all. The blue light along the front flashes.

When I try to turn off the power by pressing the power button, nothing happens. The lighting and the computer does not turn off.

Oddly, when I unplug the power cord, fires off - but only then.

I tried to boot from the DVD drive without result.

Any help would be very appreciated to get my laptop running and upward.

In the absence of any other advice or suggestions, I decided to try to clear the CMOS memory. In the process, I discovered that the RTC battery was bad, so I replaced it with a battery in good condition and Hey Presto! -l' computer is now back up and functioning normally. Happy days!

  • Pavilion dv9810us: computer HP Pavilion dv9810us laptop will not start

Reminder: a few days before my laptop does not start up, all using the laptop, the screen has become, I guess the technical term would be 'nuts': horizontal lines an inch in height, made of blocks quickly black and white, all changing left and right, and I could see my spreadsheet in the background.  Could not do something about the problem, so I rebooted and it worked fine.

Then a few days after that, I tried to turn on my laptop, and occurred the following:

    (1) blue illuminated switch, control all the keys lit in blue (volume, skip, repeat, DVD...), fan began and heard the dvd begins to check for a disc.  This lasted for about 2 seconds.

    (2) off laptop (all lights extinguished, no fan noise or a dvd).  This lasted for about 5 seconds.

then it would just repeat steps 1 & 2 times: start 2 seconds, stop for 5...

Steps that my work to correct (without success):

-J' I disconnected and removed the battery.  Let stand a few minutes.  After I have inserted the battery and reconnected, I pressed the power button.  Same 2 steps as shown above (lit for 2 seconds, turn off for 5, repetition) happened.

-saw a post on the site of HP on a hard reset.  so I unplugged, removed the battery, which is held from the Start button / stop for 20 seconds.  then replugged (without inserting the battery) and power on.  Same 2 steps above happened (lit for 2 seconds, off for 5, repetition...).

-J' I reset memory as someone on the HP Board has suggested:

    (1) remove the two memory, then replace both in the correct order.

Result: same problem (2 seconds 5 seconds, repeat...)

    (2) remove the top memory (1 GB), bottom (2 GB) by leaving in place.

    Result: same problem...

    (3) place 1 GB memory on the bottom, nothing over the top.

    Result: same problem...

From the above information, no idea what the source of the problem is, and how to fix it?

It would be to remove the motherboard and "re-invest" the video chip with a heat gun. Configure you with a shield from sheet aluminium with the chip pushing through like dessert in a TV dinner. There are many tutorials online, but like anything else go you better the more you do and the first time is risky. Repair shops using a better process called "reballing", which is basically rebuild the chip and requires hardware, that no individual can afford to have.

Access to the old hard drive is easy. Physically, remove it from the machine.

See 02:20 in. You must remove the plastic adapter for in standard SATA ports. You can leave it in the basket after removing the plastic adapter bar. Then use a usb to SATA adapter and you can plug the old drive on USB ports on your computer again, and it will appear as a USB key where you can copy and paste things out of it to the new PC.

  • K010 ENVY: my laptop will not turn off

    Hello

When I shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume my laptop, it will die completely.

All programs will be closed (when stop or restart) and I think that OS will also close. But the laptop will not turn off. Power LIGHT and fan will stay on.

And when I try to Hibernate, everything is ok, but I have the same problem.

Whenever I have to turn it off by holding the power button, otherwise the battery will be discharged.

After manual turn off, when I turn it on again, everything works correctly:

-If hibernation: OS will continue to last situation.

-If start/stop: OS works normally without error or warning.

After sleep, OS works from the beginning. Because the data stored in RAM and will be deleted after power off.

Perhaps a portable automatic perevent equipment turned off. All the drivers are up to date.

Is there a parameter/software to check and fix my problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You are welcome

On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

  • Laptop will not turn on or charge

My laptop only turns on when I press the power button. It will be not too to recharge the battery. I've had this phone for almost 2 years now, a this is the first time I have had this problem. I tried removing the battery and pressing the power for 30 seconds. I don't know if I need to replace the battery.

My laptop is Windows 7 Home premium.

How can I solve this problem?

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your question on the Forum of Support HP

It seems that you are not able to turn on the laptop and tried to solve the problem

Please perform steps listed to find out if it is a hardware or software problem below:

    1. remove all cables and devices, disconnect them and try to turn on the device

    2. check the LED light situation and ensure the action of the spring button / stop is normal

3 Exchange with a well known power cord and the AC adapter

4 Pack no adapters are available, check if the power adaptor is slightly warm

Note: This will give us an indication that the power adapter could be good

    5. do you know if the laptop was in battery or power adapter when you used the last time

Note: Make sure that there is no spill of liquid or cutting

    6. check if the Port of the AC adaptor is loose/broken

Note: If the laptop is not on even with a power adapter well known, this confirms the hardware failure with the system board or power DC Circuit

Hope this helps, for other queries in response to the post and feel free to join us again

  • HP Jet 11: Computer flow 11 Hp laptop will not charge

In two or three weeks, I noticed my flow specifications 11 HP does not load when it is plugged in - it always says "plugged not supported."

Other threads that I've read it seems that this could be something to do with the installation of Windows 10 (which failed, incidentally, that he was apparently not enough space, even if the laptop is almost nine!).

There was also a problem with the closure, which seems to have rectified earlier today; the power light remained on the same where I had been through the complete shutdown procedure. I have restored factory settings and this seems to have solved this problem but still the laptop won't charge, and even now I'm not convinced that it does not lose battery when it is off.

I did a battery check with HP Support Assistant, and who says the battery is 'OK' - it loads also for a few seconds when the control runs, which makes things more frustrating. I'm getting now worried because the battery is now down to 21%

I don't am not very focused on technique, then, what do I do? The laptop is still under warranty for even a few weeks.

(As the current state of things I feel very indisposed to bother with products HP or Microsoft, in the future, if I thought that HP were great).

I would be really grateful for any help at all.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Classic classic BlackBerry frozen during the update and will not turn on or off

So I was in a wifi zone in a fast food place, and my screen said that I had to update software and because I would be there for some time, I allowed him. He said to date started and then told me that I had to be plugged in for the update, but I didn't have my charger. I don't remember if it continued on its own or if I hit just OK but now it is frozen on the ATT screen and will not shut off/on/restart. If I press and hold the off button, it counts down as if she died but do nothing and I can't use the touch screen to cancel or restart.

I am very frustrated because I've had problems with this phone since I got less than 2 months ago.

In addition, he is now connected and still will not do anything else.

Does anyone know what I can do? Thank you!

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

    Kind regards

Removed and reinstall the memory and hard drive, not good.

Tried the hard reset, not good.
