Hello

Try reinstalling your original software of Nvidia Graphics using Recovery Manager - the procedure to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.  Note:  If you have Intel/Nvidia optimus graphics, reinstall the Intel gpu driver first, then restart and check if the f2/f3 function keys.

Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

After reinstalling, restart the laptop.

  • Pavilion x 360: backward buttons brightness, and brightness settings

Hi, I'm having a few problems about the brightness of my laptop.

First of all, when I turn on my laptop, the brightness is always on the dark night I can't see the screen. I've been on all the settings and put the brightness that max for both when it is plugged into the power supply and not. And yet, whenever I turn it on, the light is not on and the screen is completely black.

Second, my brightness buttons are upside down, so the button should I press to decrease brightness increases actually, and the button I push to increase the brightness decreases actually it.

Once again, I looked in the settings and can't find anything to change them - I have not downloaded or installed anything that should change them, I literally use the laptop for microsoft office and the internet.

    Help, please

Try disabling the QuickStarts, which seems to help with the problems of this kind. I hope that the problem will be corrected in a future update, but until then, you can try this:

Windows + X to open the power options
Click on choose what the buttons to
Change settings that are currently unavailable
Scroll down to the Tower in the quick start (recommended)
Uncheck the option to turn it off
Save your changes, and then restart the computer to see if that helped.

    Hello Ayajanna56,

I understand the brightness buttons do not work properly is that correct? I'll do my best to try to help you with this problem.

It was actually released a newer BIOS for your system. Clink this link and installed and see if that helps. Plug the power adapter before you install it and remember to save first download and then install it.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL 8.1 running Win brightness buttons reversed

    Hello

Installed Windows 8.1 pro without having to install the display driver and my brightness buttons work properly.
I installed display driver and buttons brightness reversed upside down.

I don't know why - what is going on, but now microsoft has released new driver for my video card and it works fine.

Any suggestion for that cuz im losing lots of light?

PS: Who is happing also with Windows 7 ultimate

I wrote in another thread: as much as I know Satellite C660 is not compatible Win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.

I have other thread wrote you that you have installed VAP.
This is false because VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

I think that you question appears because you just used and installed the incompatible software.

  • Brightness buttons does not.

Well, two control brightness buttons worked very well until I uninstalled the default graphics driver. Now, when I press it I always get the GUI cursor, but the brightness does not change. My brightness can be changed very well in windows power settings. I reinstalled the same thing, I uninstalled, reinstalled energy Manager, and it still does not work.

Does anyone have an idea how this can be fixed, thanks!

    Hello

It is a common problem for laptop with Intel N3540 processor in Windows 10.

    Here's a solution posted by GM_823:

    Follow this

    1 window + X

    2. open the Device Manager

    3 drop down graphics cards

    4. right click on your graphics card (mine is Intel(r) HD Graphics)

    5. click on disable. Screen will be the blackout for a few seconds.

    6. once it returns, again right click and click Activate.

    7. try your brightness keys.

If the problem persists after restarting, you can consider the option of quick start

To turn off the quick start:

1 open Power Options in Control Panel

    2. choose ' choose what the power buttons»

    3. click on the "change settings that are currently unavailable".

    4. under stop settings uncheck the box Fast Boot.

    5. restart Windows

    Hope this helps.

    Hello:

You probably need to reinstall the graphics driver.

This package provides the driver that allows graphics Intel high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running an operating system supported. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    Hi Symba,

I m wondering how you use the function keys.
As far as I know you can use the function keys in the traditional two keys FN key combinations, or you can press only F (F1 - F9).
This option can be changed in the BIOS (-> Advanced tab of the system configuration) or in the HWSetup utility.

To solve the problems of WiFi:
I recommend you update the WLan driver first.
Then, you can add a new WLan profile. This can be done in the Panel (switch to the display of the icon)-> Network & Sharing Center. On the left, you will see that the option called manage wireless networks. Until it clicks. Now, you could add and configure the new Wlan

    Regarding sound problems:
Make sure that its not muted. Additional go to control panel-> sound and ensure that the speakers are turned on in the reading tab.

  • Brightness buttons not working not not on HP Pavilion Notebook g4-1117dx.

Since I've upgraded to Windows 8, I noticed that my buttons to quick launch in the brightness of my computer does not work. It appears on my screen I pressed on it, but it is blocked at any power setting I turn the intensity setting. I can't even do it manually.

The other quicklaunch buttons work fine.

I checked my drivers and there are no updates for it on Windows 8. I've updated all my drivers for the compatible ones for Windows 8, which is available for my computer. I'm puzzled.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Looks like there are some drivers of Windows 8 for your unit based on it.

    Hi @Sherzad1,

    Please try the alternative below:

    • Go to Start Menu > search and type "Device Manager", and then launch Device Manager
    • Scroll down to the entry of graphics cards in the list of devices and expand the option. Right-click on the display drivers and choose Update driver software from the context menu.
    • In the menu of the interface that ensued, choose Browse my computer for driver software.
    • Then choose the option "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer"
    • In the next screen, select Microsoft Basic graphics card in the list under the section Show compatible hardware . Then click Next to continue.
    • Windows must now install the selected driver and the display driver problem should no longer affect your screen brightness function. You should now be able to increase or decrease the brightness of the display without hassle.

  • Pavilion DV7-1451nr: Wireless button stays amber

My pavilion dv7-1451nr turns wireless keyboard blue when I have to reset the motherboard by removing the battery and press the power button / stop seconds, after which I plug in charger to him while leaving the battery and press the power button / stop. After that, I would like to press f10 to enter the bios setup, then I would like to load the defaults, save and exit.

After doing all that I have explained above, the wireless button becomes blue and wireless assistant would be activated and indicates that the wireless is turned on. If I check in the Device Manager, I see the hardware details and driver wireless populated it and everything should work fine, but once I restart the computer, the wireless button would refuse to start. There is orange. If I try to check the State of the material status and driver WLAN on Device Manager, they would be is more filled it more and wireless assistant will refuse to start. If by chance he started, this would indicate that the wireless is turned off by the Device Manager.

I had tried uninstalling the wireless LAN driver and reinstalled just in case the problem came from the software side but not solution. Just this afternoon, I have decoupled from the computer and removed the card WLAN, dusted it and replace it back, but the problem persists.

The type of wireless network card is Atheros AR5007 802.11 b/g WiFi adapter. I noticed something this afternoon, however, after having checked the service manual for the computer, I realized that there is specific types of the wireless card compatible for specific regions. For example, the number of appropriate wlan spare parts which must be on my computer is 582564-002 and have this with references with the number of spare part of wlan on the wireless card available on my computer that begins with sps 452..., I realized something was wrong. I'll leave that to stop you guys from HP, but I really need a solution to this problem very fast because it's really annoying me. Thank you.

    Hello @LL_Cool_J,

    Thanks for the information!

I don't know what you mean, when he asked if the model is 50xx or 40xx. Confirming the WLAN Module is a little difficult, because there are several manuals maintenance for this model.  I was able to refine the selection a bit, by comparing the numbers of spare part for hard drives.  Based on this REPAIR, the WLAN Modules you have listed, 582564-002, 593836-001, must be compatible.  However, I don't see the Atheros as option in this manual.  To be on the safe side, you can contact our telephone support HP.  Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a folder for your question and contact HP.
