  I'm helping my friend with his HP Pavilion g6-1d28dx Notebook PC, formatted the HARD drive and reinstalled Windows 7 (64-bit). He travels a lot, wireless connectivity is important on this PC. It can connect via its ethernet port, but the wireless adapter cannot see all the networks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I usually google the hardware ID, and then go to the support page and pilot of the model for pilots.

  I think knowing that there is a driver for the wireless card is a year newer than the one in the laptop support and driver page, so I posted a place.

  When you have helped so many people that I have, all I have to do now is to see the material ID's for most of the devices, and I know what they are.

  For example... I didn't need to look for yours.

  Now, your specific model, USB drivers cannot install by running the file, so you'll have to do a bit of work.

  Another thing that I was informed yesterday by another Member of the forum.

  It is not which of the two manual steps he used in the thread I posted, but he said that the drivers installed until after you restart and repeat the process a second time on its model (a different than yours).

  I know that HP has designed Web pages to work with IE10, IE11.  They will not work with any earlier version of Internet Explorer.

  I contacted HP and asked why they did that, given that the new installations of Vista and W7 include older versions of IE and how can you install the drivers if webpages do not accept the old versions.

  They said that they would not bring changes to the current arrangement.

  So, if you are running W7 with IE10/11, unfortunately, I wouldn't know why support pages do not work.

  I recommend in this case, you use your W10 PC, go to the support page for the portable W7 you need drivers for, change the operating system to W7 in the drop down menu, plug in a USB flash drive in your PC, download and save the drivers you need from the flash player and install it on your PC W7 needing drivers.
