HP Pavilion 22xi

Hello

This monitor has a very grainy image, its connected to an iMac 2010, ive tried every possible Dvi Hdmi and Dvi/Hdmi and Vga connection but nothing seems to work.

Display nice when lots of theres colours present but very noticeable when there is a lot of white, its as if the screen needs a cleanup as it looks like a greasy film on the top, I gave it a wipe with a dry cloth, but don't make any difference.

Any ideas on how this can be resolved, the monitor running the same resolution as the iMac at 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz.

Any help would be really appreciated

Thank you

Matt

Hello Matty74!

I did a little research and found something that may be useful.

It seems that almost all other manufacterers (except Apple) using the Adobe RGB.  Adobe RGB is a 'color' that basically is the industry standard for how colors should look / appear on the screen.  Here is more information on Adobe RGB.  Apple, however, uses a different standard known as YPbPr.  Many users also claim this makes the image seems "grainy" or "fuzzy", in addition to the colors seeming different.

I have not noted in the guide, but it is possible there is an option in the menus on the screen allowing you to change modes.

You have a friend with a Windows laptop?  If you connect the monitor to a computer using the Adobe standard he would give you a definitive answer of if it is catchy, or at least in part, the question.

Let me know if this is possible.

How to manually remove existing halos of previous cleanings?

    Hi there @antonio55,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that you are looking for advice on how to clean your screen.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Please see: HP monitors - Safety and Maintenance Guidelines, under the heading "Cleaning the monitor" for details of cleaning, but be sure to read both safety related information.  Depending on what you mean by "halos" try following the instructions for the materials to be used. If you have in the past used something on the list of cleaning products do not turn out to serve, you may have already damaged a part of the screen.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Power HP Pavilion 22xi lost - Equavelant?

Hello.  Recently, I lost the external power supply in my HP Pavilion 22xi.  HP doesn't ' seem to sell replacements.  I wonder, however, if a laptop computer power supply is just basically the same thing and would work just as well?

Here's the dilemma, before I'll plug a.  On the monitor, it is said that it is 12 volts, but when I look around the internet I see that the replacement for the 22xi power supplies are listed as 19v.  HP power supplies come in 12v and 19v.  Which one to get?

E - bay has a lot of generic Chinese supplies to remove dirt cheap but I have yet to see a real HP for the 22xi (new or used) one listed on e - bay.

I would like to know exactly what to get, because as you know the supplies are quite expensive and I don't want to blow up my beautiful IPS monitor.

So, if I get an equavelant what should be the voltage?  What should the power be noted at?  How many amps or my it should produce.  I'm guessing that 12v 45 w 3.5 to 4.5 amps.

    Hello again.

I did a little research and it turns out that feeding that HP has listed for the 22xi Pavilion "700393 - 001 a/c adapter 40 Watt/19V - Liteon" is false.  It is only for larger screens 24 "the same type of model.  I don't know if it would harm the screen to plug what he can have voltage regulators to prevent this damage, but the 22xi only works on 12 volts and it would be wise to stick to a correct power supply as shown on the screen itself.

I have in fact not found on e - bay for £6.45 shipped.   The one I found was of 5 Amps / 60 watts but all 3 or 4 amps / 12 volt 40 watt supply should do the trick.

You don't have to worry about getting a power supply which generates the more amps the device says it's need as the device will only enough current to run the device.  So invest in a 5 or 6 amp power supply when you only need 3 usually means that the power will be less stressed and can run more fees.  If in doubt, always match the exact voltage and you will be safe.  If supply does not have enough amps to power the device, it simply will not work.  So invest in a power supply with a lot of amps can actually be useful in the future for something else.

The size of Bédard of the connector should be 5.5 mm x 2.5 mm with center pin positive (most are positive centre).

I hope this helps someone get their operational back monitor!

  • 22xi Pavilion: Pavilion 22xi

I have two monitors 22Xi, side-by-side, bought about a year apart. The OSD menus are a little dfferent, especially under "control of the Image. The settings are perfect, and as identical as I can possibly make, EXCEPT, the new monitor can't go to a deep black solid, how can an older. I played with brightness, contrast, color, control etc.. Whatever I do, made black monitor the most recent is closer to a 'coal' black night.

    Hi there @ShimonDI-NY

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand you have two views of the same model bought a year apart and with the same settings, the most recent display is brighter. I'm happy to help you with this.

There are two possible issues here:

    1. the backlight on a older lamp deteriorated slightly over time

    2. There is a slight difference in one of the components (tolerances specified error) and she translates the a lamp being slightly brighter

I would just turn down the brightness of the screen a little more recent, and you should be good.

Let me know if this helps.

  • Monitor of 22xi HP Pavilion showing the Green tint on the right side

I've had my Pavilion 22xi for about 8 months now and everything has been fine until a few days ago when a green tint has appeared on the right side of the screen. A pink ghosting of my web browser can also be seen in the upper right when, on a dark background. I use the monitor as a second monitor connected to a macbook via a connector mini displayport HDMI /. The problem occurs on mac and windows.

I changed the HDMI cables, checked the connections, reset the monitor to factory settings, read through the HP troubleshooting tips and try the monitor with another computer, but the same problem persists.

I think there is an error with a monitor, but I wanted to ask if there was anything that I'm missing or a solution before contacting HP support.

Hi Kojiri, sorry to hear that you are having problems with your screen display. One thing that I know that I had problems with was that I have a subwoofer near the monitor and it caused the screen to change the color. I also noticed a slight change in color when I had my base of wireless phone, sitting on the desk next to the screen. Now if this isn't the case for you, I suggest that you please click on the link I provided and try the document that solves the problems of different screen.

If you are still having problems with the screen, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further.

  • My HP 6640f pc will support 2 monitors?

    Not too computer saavy here.

My HP 6640f pc will support 2 monitors as is, or will I need additional equipment? Dell monitor 22 '' current reference is connected to the Tower via a VGA connection. Right next to the VGA is a DVI port. This is when I plug the 2nd monitor? Thank you!

Resolution... yours is 1680 x 1050. If you go with a full HD (1920 x 1080) everything will seem smaller but obviously more of the web page or document, or anything you want to be on the screen. I use a 1920 x 1080 as primary monitor and then extend the desktop on a 1680 x 1050 where I just keep my Outlook email open all day. Everything else I do on the full HD monitor. Works fine for me. Here are current HP 22 inch offering full HD:

  • Change to a new monitor with Windows XP

My office is a COMPAQ Presario 2029 with a NVidia GeForce 7500LE graphics card, currently under XP SP3. Although in due course, I intend to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8.1, or replace the material altogether with a new PC for Windows 8.1, which will not be some time yet.

In the meantime, I think to replace my current monitor with a wide screen HP Pavilion 22xi or 23xi. I'm likely to have problems, try to run on existing hardware or XP?

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

I see from the driver information that it is listed as compatible with XP, so it's reassuring.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.
