HP Pavilion 23 - black screen problems

I am the proud owner of a Pavilion AIO 23.  I was fine until I got home - we bought two and I can't face to take it out of the box.

First it not was not set up correctly to Currys PC World and secondly I couldn't open Word or Excel.  I took it in our PC world more close curries (not the one that we bought in origin) and a really nice young man reset computers and explained that I had a bug in microsoft office that he needed to remove with a tool they have been provided with instore.

I joined for the second time with two boxes and two days later, my screen went black.  I could see the cursor but nothing else.

I am sure you will understand, I don't know what I'm doing or what goes wrong, but I can honestly say that I wish I had not brought any of these machines and I can not face opening the second box to see whatelse can be wrong.  I turned it off and left for half an hour and it works again.  Now, I have a normal display but am worried it might happen again.  Please can someone tell what I need to do or what they would do besides throw it out the window into the garden.  I'm completely clueless on stuff IT so no explanation should be in plain English please or idiots guide to what to do.  I'm not proud just totally deflated and wonder if I did the right thing.

Thank you.

Thank you, the screen went black that I had left for a little more than an hour this afternoon when I came out. I turned market and it seemed ok after that. I have I will persevere just that happen regularly!

  • Strange black screen problem Inspiron 1526

    Dell Inspiron 1526 - Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) - Service Pack 2 (problem started all with SP1) - AMD Turion (TM) 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz - ATI Radeon X 1200 Series

This is probably the strangest problem that I've never seen or heard of.  I've owned this phone for about a year and a half without any problem, then one day, I decided to put my computer into sleep mode by closing the lid (I've done several times before without problem.).  When I lifted the lid, the computer woke up, but the screen refused to show.  Thinking it was an easily solvable problem, I restarted the computer.  The computer turned on, but the screen was black.  After having turned the computer works enough times (probably 20), finally displayed screen and the error message say 'RTC Mode Fixed.  Date and time can be wrong. "I couldn't help but think"What the... ". "I ran into my share of issues of computer before, but nothing as weird as this.

Assuming that everything was fine, I let the computer start normally and shortly after the BIOS, the computer screen suddenly turns off.  The only way I could get the boot sequence to pass the BIOS screen and start normally, I had to remove all the devices (including the power cord.)  After the computer has finally loaded completely, I was able to function normally.  Almost every time that I cut it however, the black screen problem happen again.

A solution will be greatly appreciated.

If you still experience the problem, or if you arrived after doing a search for the same problem with your Inspiron1526 (or other). The solution is to replace the CMOS battery. There was some problems with the connector of the screen becomes loose, but if reinstalling the display connector does not solve your problem, then the battery is dead.  The Mitsubishi CR2032 batteries from CHINA are down less than 1.5 volts in only 1-2 years. Looking at the battery that looks like they're a cheap copy of bootleg and probably not at all Mitsubishi. They all have the "Made In CHINA" stamp on the bottom edge. Unfortunately to get to the CMOS battery, you will need to disassemble the laptop computer entire almost to have access, but by replacing the bad battery with a reputable CR2032 3 v battery will solve the problem. After the first reboot, you need to give time for the BIOS to reconfigure and you need to reset the time system and date but the laptop will resume its normal operation after that.

Unfortunately many calls to Dell technical service gave no help to this problem either. Technicians have even claimed to have no knowledge of what the CAPS and the blinking NUM LOCK lights meant. If you are lucky, you may be able to restart a couple times before the laptop doesn't start is not at all, but the time system must be reset - if this happened to you, it's a dead giveaway that the CMOS battery is about to fail. Once you hear the voltage of the battery drops to initial power engage readers and the fan will run for a few moments and then the unit will completely disable. Nothing appears on the screen.

  • HP Pavilion G6 black screen at startup... Help!

I have a HP pavilion G6 that has worked well for like half a year. Today I wanted to start my laptop, but it seems to be stuck on a black screen (with my slider appeared) after the HP loading screen.
Sometimes, at the start, he says 'prepairing failback', but the results after loading at the same black screen.
I tried to solve this problem with the following things:
    1. hard reset (turn off everything, hold the power button / stop 30 seconds, all lights and start-up etc..)
2 replacement RAM. Someone from the Forum said it worked, but it didn't.
3 tried to take off all USB devices such as mouse, adapter DC etc. and starts but didn't work

I don't know if it has nothing to do with the startup problem, but a month ago I tried to do a factory reset, but my laptop seems to be stuck on the same black screen. I couldn't find a solution for this too.

I really hope that someone can help me without sending my laptop to HP...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    You are welcome

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

As your laptop is listed as coming with Windows 8, it should still be under warranty, so my best advice would be to contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

So my HP pavilion G6-1c58dxG6 cannot start. When I turn it on I see loading windows files and go white bar at the bottom, then a screen of microsoft coporation then I get a black screen with no mice. If I remove the battery and run it through with just the charger it happens to a planned Windows with the mouse.  I did a few tests through the bios and it came with the memory Test: memory test managed Primary Hard Drive Disk Self Test: 1 (303) fast hard drive. Hello

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also compatible with startup problems you describe.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

  • 6 sec while charging iPhone black screen problem

    Hi guys,.

Thanks for reading my question first.

After using for years android phones, I decided to switch to the iPhone (6 s) and so far I'm in love.

I have used for about a month now and start a day before, I had this black screen during charging problem and I hope someone who does could shed some light on this issue.

At the end of the day, I connect my iPhone to my computer to back up (I have an automatic back when it is connected to the computer), as well as to recharge.  Automatic backup takes about 15 seconds that I have not much to my phone again and the rest of the time, it is just the battery.  I have check the iTune on my computer from time to time to see how far along the load came and the other day, I noticed that the prosecution has blocked 99% for a long time.  It weird, I woke my phone to check and the screen did not light completely black.

After a quick search, I learned that most of the time, it's a software crash and everything that I had to do it was hard reset my phone, I was pushing the House and buttons at the same time and it worked.

Fast-forward yesterday evening, once more I have recharge my phone connected to my computer and this time, he showed on iTune the battery charge has stuck at 81%.  I tried to wake up my phone without success and once again, I have had to reset hard to restart my phone.

If hard reset worked both times, I won't be the everyday phenomenon and if there is a permanent fix, I would try it.

I should mention that when I bought my 6s (new / sealed) a month ago and it came with iOS 9.0.  I read online that the last iOS 9.3.1 has many problems and most of them would recommend do not update immediately so I've been using iOS 9.0.

Do you think that this black screen (software crash likely?) has something to do with an older version of iOS I use?

Should I try the upgrade to iOS 9.3.1 and see if that makes a difference?

Once the upgrade to the latest iOS and if you are not happy with it, can go back you to your old version of iOS (in my case 9.0)?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Your iPhone is a very new phone. You should be able to update without problem. If it was my phone, I would apply the update. I have updated my iPhone 5s without any problem at all whenever a new update of iOS was released. You backup every day, so in the unlikely event that something is wrong, you would be able to restore the phone and restore the backup. You wouldn't lose any data.

Once the upgrade to the latest iOS and if you are not happy with it, can go back you to your old version of iOS (in my case 9.0)?

Decommissioning of the iOS is not supported by Apple and it would not be an option.

IF you update the phone and continue to have problems, take it to an Apple Store and ask them to take a look. The phone is still under warranty.

  • HP Pavilion G6: black screen

    Hello
About half an hour, there is, I restarted my computer, it started as it should and the login screen was visible. I logged in one or two of my accounts and then it started loading process. After a few seconds (maybe 20) loading, the screen goes black and my office is not accessible. I am able to CTRL ALT DEL and access my task manager. I would also like to point out once I click on restart the computer on the screen CTRL ALT DEL, for a brief moment before the computer stops my desk is visible.

I don't know what could be the issue. I tried hard reset/disconnect and remove the battery but it doesn't seem to work. I checked the second account and it still happens. Please can someone help as soon as POSSIBLE because I need this laptop for work. Thank you

    Hello

    Try the following.

Boot the computer normally and log.

Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

    Select Task Manager.

Click on file and select the new task.

Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.

When the system restore interface is loaded, choose a restore point at least 48 hours before the log - it occurs first and then proceed to the system restore.

If the above is not correct the problem, try to run the steps in the link below.

  • HP Pavilion dv6: black screen with cursor after the connection

For two weeks, my laptop lost sound through the speakers and plug headphones.  The computer recognizes there is a problem of devices not be enabled on troubleshooting menus, but when I check the devices individually and test says they are on and sound screens played... even if there is none.

Due to this recurring problem, I downloaded the drivers for my system updated and uninstalled the old series and restarted my system.  Since then, I get a black screen after login and could make even spybot search and destroy scan my items, but that's all.  Computer still starts in safe mode and can run the Task Manager... Help?

    Hello

Boot the computer normally and log.

Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

    Select Task Manager.

Select the process tab and select to show processes from all users (lower-left).

Click the column heading to organize the processes in alphabetical order.

Look for an entry called to run once Wrapper (RunOnce.exe) - If you see it listed, right-click on it and select end task.

If your office now appears, download AdwCleaner on the following link (there are 4-5 second delay until it's available)- Save in your downloads folder.

    https://toolslib.NET/downloads/finish/1/

A once downloaded, close all programs, open your download folder and double-click the application to run it (click Yes to any uac prompt).

    Click the scan button.

When the results are displayed, click the Clean button - when you are prompted to restart, click Ok.

It starts on the desktop correctly now?

  • On the Satellite 1800-921 black screen problem

    Hello
My satellite 1800-921 has started to give me a black screen after I turn it on. It loads well, go to the desktop and then the screen turns white and I can't make it respond. We can just distinguish the dialogs on the screen so I don't know if it is a screen problem or things I see on the screen are just ghosts...
    It's a bit worrying!
Does anyone else have this problem? So far, it seems to happen when I turn it on. Usually, I have to turn it off and reboot to get it back and then it works very well.
    Thank you
    Nancy :)

    Hello

to the old series, it may be that the FL inverter is broken or damaged the tupe of backlight. In both cases, you can see the screen but without backlight!

To differi if it is a hard - or software error, you should start the laptop and ESC immediately to enter the BIOS. Then the machine must be running half an hour in the BIOS. When the rupture occurred it is quite sure that some hardware is broken. Otherwise, it is a software based and a restore with recovery CD Toshiba should solve the problem!

    Goodbye, TOK

I tried the above on battery only and cord ony, still no change.

Is there anything else I can try?

    Thank you for your response.

I was going to do as you suggested, but the last time I tried a boot upward and couldn't, I closed the lid before removing the power cable.
