HP Pavilion 550-232na: graphics card

Hello

I want to upgrade my graphics card, but I'm not sure what would be compatible for my pc.

Details of my pc:

PC: HP Pavilion 550-232na

Processor: intel core i3-6100 3.70 ghz

RAM: 8 GB

existing card: graphics intel HD 530

Ironbreaker1, welcome to the forum.

I think that almost any video card will work on your computer.  However, there are two main considerations: 1) the amount of energy needed to run the card properly and 2) the length of the card.

You certainly need to move the power supply (PSU).  The specifications of the computer state that the PSU is internal and 180W.  Most newer video cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Normally, I would recommend a block of at least 500W Power SUPPLY; 600W is even better.

Here's a video card that should work, but it requires 400W of power.

I love the Corsair PSU.  They make quality products at a reasonable price.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer, it is not the place to save money.  This is a power supply that should work for you.  It is modular which allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  This more than makes up for the air circulation.  You should check the space provided for the power supply to make sure it will fit.  In addition, make sure that the connectors.

You will not be able to upgrade the video card without upgrading the power supply (PSU).  She should be at least 500W.  You must measure the space where the PSU is installed and check to see if you can find one that fits.

  • HP Pavilion 222ur-550 T1H38EA: graphics card update

    Hello!

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 550 - 222ur and found out that the default graphics card (GeForce GT 730) is less efficient in most of the games. So I want to get a more powerful (thought mini GeForce GTX 750 Ti or Asus GeForce GTX 950). While researching the possibility of upgrade, I discovered that some graphics cards may not work on the PC of HP brand due to a BIOS issue. So the question is: will be mentioned in this workstation graphics cards? And if these cards are compatible, I'll have to get better food, as well, no? Thanks in advance.

Provide the details of my PC for reference: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/HP-Pavilion-550-200-Desktop-PC-series/9259612/model/9764558/docu...

    @Rilarn

    # You can improve it.

The ASUS GEFORCE® GTX 950 Mini would be a good candidate for the upgrade.  You can use cards PCIe x 16 UEFI based because your PC is post 2012. It doesn't have a legacy BIOS.  You should disable the start safe in the BIOS feature.

You can update the graphics card and the power supply end up with a decent gaming machine, if that is your goal.

Be aware that it will not compete with machines that are DIY built by amateurs or games machines made by the best companies of PC.

  • HP Pavilion p6623w video Graphics Card Question.

With the HP Pavilion p6623w, it has an integrated ATI graphics built in. I recently bought a Zotac GeForce gtx 550 ti AMP! Video card and I wanted to install it in the HP System. Unfortunately since I installed it, I had many problems to make same ot games starts. Star Wars: The Old Republic opens the menu and when I click on 'play' it black screens and closed auto itself. The same question comes with League of legends and any demo that I download.

I've updated the drivers as well as other updates that I did to my PC and still no luck, so I'm stuck. I guess it could be my integrated video card?

I can't seem to find a way to disable and exactly how would I have done that?

Please and thanks for the help!

Here are the specifications of your HP p6623w desktop and here are the specs of the ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 550 AMP Ti ! Edition graphics card, you are having problems with. According to the specifications of your computer, your system came with a 250 watt power supply. According to the specifications of the Zotac GTX 550 Ti, it requires a minimum system + 400 watts of power. Unless you have installed a new more powerful PSU, this card will try to draw more power than the PSU will provide.

With regard to the integrated... video card BIOS automatically disables it when it detects a card into the PCIe x 16 slot.

  • Pavilion e9280t: the graphics card upgrade

I had to spend my original GeForce GT220 graphics card to use at least three 3 monitors so I bought EVGA GeForce GT 640.  When I installed the card, everything was fine until the computer, install the driver and start then computer began to stop and start several times and then stopped at c prompt and siad it is impossible to find a bootable.  Long story short, I had to use my emergency disk and restart the computer.

Then, I started reading Blogs about the HP graphics card chain and one of technology pointed out I should buy Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 and this card will work without upgrading PSU, so I did.  Now, with the GTX 660 computer card keep start and stop and I can't seem to stop.  I spoke with a few outside tech and they said that I need to improve my diet.  If this is the case, then the HP expertise technology was not entirely accurate or I have another problem.

The UPE recommended are: (1) Corsair HX650 and (2) RS-650.  I also read that this MB Pegatron IPMTB-TK does not many power supplies above 550-650 watts.

Can someone tell me what is my computer problem?  Need to pass the power supply and if I do what PSU I can use?  Model and Type to fit properly in the case?

    HP Pavilion e9280t Truckee-UL8E

    Chipset: Intel X 58 Express

Original power output power: 460 Watt

    Hello

The differences between the reference models and variants will vary according to the manufacturer.  See the image below and notice number 6 power connectors that are necessary.  Depending on the configuration of your PC, a GTX 660 can't get enough power to the 460 watt power supply in your PC. As I said earlier, I didn't have a question of power using the EVGA GTX 660.  Graphics NVIDIA GTX 660 cards are border line with some power supplies according to the design of the PSU and the loading PC.

The Corsair CX500, or CX600 would be excellent choices. Note: the power supply fan is mounted upward toward the top of the Cabinet because it will shoot in the air fresh from along the edge of the top side entries.

    It's my computer: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01552288 & lang = to & cc = us & conte...

my graphics card has a fan that is not working, and I don't get any signal on my monitor after 20 minutes of start... so I decided to get a new graphics card which is better.

so I want to know what is the max graphics card that I can put in this computer and should I go for the same type (AC express graphics card) or get any type that can work with the computer?

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion Slimline s3632me desktop computer and its card mother M2N61-AR (Acacia). Based on the specifications, this model has a power of 160 watts, a graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS PCIe x 16 HDMI and DVI - I outputs and integrated nVidia GeForce 6150SE graphics with a VGA output. Note that the discreet graphics card and the built-in graphics card is not usable at the same time.

You need to replace the graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS PCIe x 16 with a x 16 low profile PCIe graphics card (the card must have a power system recommend assessment of 160 watts or less). All purchased card that has a higher recommended system power supply requirement will require the purchase of a new power supply, follow the recommendations in cards. Your computer's power supply is not a standard ATX power supply and can be difficult to find.

    Hello @Kyukyumii,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Unfortunately, I can't make recommendations about these products.  Generally, most of the gaming graphics cards, will have PCI Express 2.0 or higher.  There is always a chance that you will experience reduced performance, based on your hardware.  I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion P6-2065UK graphics card problems

    Hello

Have HP Pavilion P6-2065UK, with 8 GB of Ram and have installed the new power supply Corsair CX430 Watt.

When I install the new graphics card Nvidia Geforce GT 630, blank screen appears, you can hear Windows 7 startup screen open, but not the current view.

I spent in mode Bios to confirm the x 16 slot is enabled and that sometimes the PCI Express card is shown. I tried enabling and disabling onboard video in Bios, no joy. Cannot go to Safe Mode.

I also tried to use Google Remote Desktop connect the HP device to another PC so that I can try and see office, but as soon as you turn off the power, the unique necessary 12-digit PIN is reset to zero and I lose the connection.

I am still able to use the onboard video of origin but not the Nvidia card.

Been going on for a while now.

Any help with this would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion G070ca: update graphic card

I'm just curious to know what graphics cards I can install in my laptop. I have the 17-inch HP pavilion G070ca laptop, it uses a processor intel I7-5500u and a nvidia GT940m. I would like to probably the 970 or 980 just wanting to know if people are compatiable with my laptop

    Hello:

There is no removable or stretch graphics card in your laptop.

Nvidia GT940m GPU is integrated to the motherboard and the only way to update the graphics would be to replace the motherboard together with one of those enrolled in the service manual for your laptop model that may have better graphics.

It would be a very costly intensive project work.

Better sell your laptop and one with the graphic solution you want to get.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1030 graphic card upgrade help

OK, so I have a desktop HP Pavilion p7-1030, and the graphics card is crap, I need to update something much better.

I know that I'll probably need a new power supply too, if anyone knows a good combo?

Also, where can I find the old graphics card and POWER supply in order to remove and replace?

I'm playing BF3, so it must be good.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Zxcvbnm0, welcome to the forum.

According to the specifications of the computer, there is only the embedded video.  It is integrated in the motherboard, so you cannot remove it.  It will be automatically disabled when a discreet card is installed.  Integrated video is never good for video intensive games or other programs.

I like Corsair and OCZ PSU.  I recommend at least 500W.  This will give you more choices of video cards.  You must measure the current PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.  Normally, I buy my parts from Newegg.

Here is an example of a good food:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139028

I like the graphics cards XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  I recommend you to stay at 9 "long or less.  This ensures that it will not go in the space provided.

Here is an example of a video card that should work:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814150561

The PSU is where the power cord is connected.  If you do upgrades, it will help mark the wires of the PSU to make sure that you connect them correctly.  The connectors of the motherboard must be labelled, and more, the wires on the new power supply.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline 400 - 020l: Compatible for HP Pavilion Slimline 400 graphics card - 020l

    Hello

Please give me recommendation or choice, compatible (vga) graphics card for HP Pavilion Slimline 400 - 020l available on the market.

    Hello

You need an active UEFI, low profile graphics card low power with support of full size.  Sometimes graphics cards are supplied with two brackets.  Your PC has only a 270-Watt power supply, so your pickins will be limited.

I saw a few cards that could work but all graphics cards manufacturer recommend a greater power.

A higher power Slimline power of Athena could work in your PC.

You can use GPU - Z to determine performance (band memory bandwidth) as a starting point for when you are looking for a graphics card.
