HP pavilion a1600n

Hi, on Saturday, I was using my computer normally, and then when I closed it in the afternoon, I decided to play on it at 20:00, but I noticed it's time, it does not turn, so I tried unplugging everything and unplug the power cord, power, but when I plug it in again, it still does not work. I noticed that my HP pavilion a1600n has a green light on the back and I did not what it means, then what I can do.

WngedElite, welcome to the forum.

The computer is older than 5 years, I suspect a power supply (PSU) failure.  Here's a guide that will help your solve the problem.  The symptoms you describe are quite normal for this problem.  This is less the best place to start the diagnostic.

    Perhaps you misspelled the designation.
The motherboard is listed in the specifications as an ASUS A8M2N - LA. The name of HP's NodusM3-GL8E. I saw this motherboard listed on EBay at reasonable prices. Wil you need to install an identical motherboard if your goal is to use all the components (including the OS, the memory and CPU) of your PC.

  • Pavilion a1600n (RJ181AA). will not feed.

Although the green light on the power supply is turned on and not flashing do not, the CPU does not start.  I checked the face before (on/off switch) and tried a reliable decision-making without success.  I also trouble turned the power switch located on the back of the power supply, again without success.  Then I guess that is feeding, but have read since that if the green light is on, it cannot be the power supply.  before I was needlessly spending money on the hardware, I'm looking for others that may have the same problems, or find someone who has an answer or suggestion.  Thanks in advance for your response time.

    Hello

Before you spend all the money, try to do a power reset your device.

Remove all the parts of the computer, I mean, cables, power cable to the motherboard, data cables, remove the memory modules, video card and other cards you might have, also the battery CMOS.

Then, keep the power button down for 30 seconds.

Try to start the PC only with the base connected to the computer, memory, video card, connected data cables.

If it still does not work, it must be the motherboard that needs to be replaced.

Let me know the results of the test.

    Thank you

    Hello

The top mounted PSU in the a1600n must be lifted to get what he started.  Some models of HP PCs have a tab under the bottom of the PSU, but I doubt that your model has.  You can look the other way for her.

Whenever you do a clean install of Windows (and it sounds like that's what you did), you MUST install the necessary drivers.  Windows XP incorporates some drivers, but certainly not all.  Go to the HP website, get the drivers and install them.  And don't forget to download and install XP sp3.

Note: Don't bother with this page or uninstalling the RAID driver BIOS updates and firmware (unless you have the referenced problem) but DO get and install the SP3 upgrade utility before installing XP sp3 if your computer has an AMD processor.  You may or may not need multimedia software.

  • Logitech Setpoint incompatible with Windows Vista Home Premium?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I did a reinstall on a HP Pavilion a1600n desktop. At the same time, I bought the logitech mk700 keyboard and mouse combo. Immediately, I started having problems with the new mouse and the old mouse wired logitech that I used previously. The main problem is that the mouse will not click on the home screen where I have a choice of 3 desktops. I have to use the tab and arrow keys on the keyboard to select my desktop and logon. In addition, the mouse intermittently will not click on IE8 or Firefox 3.6 or the Windows desktop. It will highlight, but not to select the different boxes and necessary navigation buttons. I tried various steps including trying to update the drivers to the set point 6.1 (could not because cannot uninstall the setpoint 4.8 software) uninstall and reinstall and update drivers by using Device Manager and nothing works. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. The problem turns out to be with Logitech hardware. It was a faulty mouse. Logitech sent me a new mouse and by using the set-point 6.1 or the 4.8 it works very well.

BTW, I just did a clean install and have no junk, etc on the computer, but I ran different cleaning utilities just to check. See the thread above routine that I just finished.

  • Software device driver has not been installed successfully. __This device cannot start (Code 10).

I am running Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion a1600n and sometimes in the last month the CD/DVD drive stopped recognizing DVDs and CDs. It is opening and closing, and turn the disc when I put them in the drive, simply do not recognize anything beyond that.

The State of the device reads that this device cannot start (code 10).

From what I could find online code 10 was a general hardware error. I tried switching to another Cd/DVD drive and even changed the cable to the inside to see if it was the error, it was not. When I plugged the DVD/CD drive second he tried to locate the drivers online and and informed me it software device driver was not correctly installed. I tried to find some kind of solution online, nothing helps. If there are some ad where this has been previously resolved for someone else and you could point me in the right direction, or if you have a solution to this problem, please help.

    Hi Dnah,

See the following about the Code 10 error article:

  • Cannot connect to the three accounts welcome screen, an admin

I have just reintstalled Windows Vista on both hard drives from my computer of Pavilion a1600n. I added two user accounts for my wife and my children, in addition to the administrator account for each instance of windows for a total of three user accounts. I tried to connect to Windows, but can't click on any office on the Welcome screen. It is a problem on both hard drives. Any suggestions?

Thank you. It turns out that the problem was the mouse and keyboard needed new batteries. My wife is resolved!

  • Main features register or are not detected

When in the AOL emails, about 1/3 of my key traits don't register.  The problem does not occur in the case of Word.  I changed the keyboard, but the problem persists.  The computer is a Pavilion a1600n running Windows XP. Any ideas?

    Hi RL47,

You use AOL email in a browser (such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, Google Chrome, etc.)?

If so, have you tried to switch to a different browser to see if the problem persists?

If you use an application for AOL Mail, have you tried to reboot this request (uninstall/reinstall)?

Have you tried setting out Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express as email client (send and receive your AOL email using another application)?

Given that the problem does not occur in Word, the material is fine, now it's cut just whether a number of web mail client or a browser problem.

Please provide the above information and/or try the steps and let me know if you still experience the problem.

    Thank you!

  • cable card failure / Unable to connect to the internet

Pavilion a1600n windows 7 all of a sudden unable to connect to the internet.  Agent at verizon (on computer) home says card wired to computer failed.  Wireless still works on the laptop so is this right?

Hmmm... If the connection is just stopped one day of work or it didn't work after installing or uninstalling something?

I wonder if you do not have a card/port that has stopped working. The good thing is ethernet cards are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. You could even go wireless and just buy a USB wireless receiver.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.
