HP Pavilion ab004nm 17: warranty problem

Hello.

I plan to buy a HP Pavilion laptop to 17-ab004nm with an extended warranty to 4 years in total. My main concern now is the following:

(1.) the laptop uses 8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB). I would replace both sticks with 2x8gb

(2.) the laptop has a 2 TB HARD drive and a 128 GB SSD. I wish it was at least 256 GB ssd with 2 TB HARD drive. Would it not possible to replace the 128 GB SSD with a 256 or 512 GB SSD?

However, the main issue here is security. The above improvements are possible WITHOUT voiding the warranty if I replace it myself?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Dear customer,

Upgrade memory, HARD drive, as in HP recommennded configurations below does not CANCEL the warranty.

Guarantee is EMPTY when damage you the unit physically in the upgrade process!

  • HP Pavilion 15-p095tx K2N78PA: warranty problem: I bought on January 30, 2015, but the end of warranty date November 23, 2015?

    Hello

I just bought a new laptop today (January 30, 2015), after that I checked the status of the guarantee to the HP Web site, it displays as below.

Which I am now confused, I guess that the guarantee was to last until January 30, 2016 (not 23 November 2015 as indicated).

Please could someone clarify or perhaps the question I bought was defective or the store gave me a used returned by their client...?

Help, please. Thank you very much.

    Hello

I have it! Any new laptop. Thank you for the HP team - emails, support calls.

  • HP Pavilion series g hanging problems.

Hi, my name is Thomas Yeo, staying in Malaysia. I am a student. I have a computer in the Pavilion g4 series. Is the product name and number is HP Pavilion g4-1024tx. It uses a Windows 7 system. It is still under warranty. This computer is still facing problems such as crashes. Also, my computer overheating when I'm watching a video on Youtube. When I'm far away form the computer, I have the AC fan, this is because the computer is overheating very quickly. What to do when we face these problems?

    Hello

In this case and that your laptop is still under warranty, my best advice would be to contact HP and arrange for the repaired laptop.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • HP Pavilion w2216h monitor repeating problems...

Hello, I own a HP Pavilion w2216h monitor. It is the second that I own. The first has almost the same problem as the one I have now... but since it's on the warranty sent me a new. Now, it is up just like the old. I think that there is a fault to underscore with this monitor, but I'm not sure.

The problem with the monitors is almost the same thing.

The first monitor would have distorted color and lines of this violet/red/brown go through it, I don't remember if it was in the vertical or horizontal. It does not matter because it was under warranty and I got this new monitor sent me. Same model.

For the second monitor, the screen gets very white, then slowly goes black. The colours seem to fade and blend each other. If left to run its course, ends with the screen goes black with shades of white and other colors in random places.

    Here's the info...

    HP Pavilion w2216h Monitor

Computer HP Desktop running Windows 7 64-bit edition

Graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 9800GT

It is connected to the VGA DVI cable. Connecting the monitor to the video card.

Here's what I did and checked so far...

I checked the video card carefully, the drivers are installed and up-to-date. Works well with 2 other monitors different brand and size. There is no overheating of any kind and the DVI connector works very well. So the problem is not with the video card. I checked all the cables! Swapped, cables and tight, raging, then tightened again to make sure.

Recap. The computer is good, the video card is good, the DVI connector is good, the VGA cable is good. This leaves the monitor to blame. Now here's the question is it broken? Or can I fix? Also I'm the only person having this problem? If this isn't the case, please answer, cause I have the impression that it is a recurring problem for many people who own this product. Thank you for your time.

    Hello Rockets1995,

If the screen is white that usually tells me that it is a bad connection. If you are still under warranty then you can start there.

If you are not in the warranty and you want to try an auto repair then you can go that route as well. If you open the monitor there is a small tablecloth that connects the screen to the Board of Directors, this cable is likely in the open air and is not firmly connected.

  • EnergyStar Pavilion x 360: warranty not honored

I have a x 360 energy star Pavilion and it seems that the hard drive has failed, not that big a deal you might think.

No problem, I thought that it is under warranty, purchased for locally in Saudi Arabia, but it failed after 5 months, think again.

That was over 2 months ago and I come now to understand HP warranty does not exist in this country.

First of all, I went to the retailer that comes from the contact hp and good luck with that.

I have called every day but never pass, sent many emails that were answered during the first weeks 3 to 5 days, with the last e-mail saying that local office could send me a hard drive.

It was now 2 months ago and no longer replys to my repeated emails.

Beware HP do not honour the advertised warranty!

    HP ever!

  • HP Pavilion m4-1001TX: startup problems

Hello! My laptop is a HP Pavilion m4-1001TX. Recently, I updated my Windows laptop, 10 OS. Subsequently, I met problems white screen, which was resolved by resets hard (as suggested by various forums).

A week ago, I met the same problem. However, I tried the suggestions (from hard reset, external LCD screen, BIOS recovery, for re-allocation of places the memory module). Whenever I start it, I can hear the hum of the fan 3 seconds, but then everything is silent. The power button and LED f12 button is down as well.

    Once again, Hello.

So my laptop will not initialize correctly for about a month and a half, which led me to use my tablet.

Anyway, it took me a long time before deciding to disassemble my laptop. Because ultimately, I could so he had repaired, I tried to check his parts. Verification of entrails, the fan is full of dust.

After cleaning, the laptop worked properly. (FINALLY.)

so for you guys, try troubleshooting step by step made by HP. However, if these things didn't work and your laptop is probably a year or two and you haven't cleaned his fan, you might as try though clean it by compressed air or disassembled.

Disassembly, check the code of product in your laptop and search for it on HP Media tab. The research would generate some links, one of them showing a manual on how to disassemble the laptop properly. Follow these steps carefully.

I hope this post helps you on about the start-up problems.

NOTE: Disassembly for me is my last choice, so DO NOT REMOVE IT unless YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IT.

  • Pavilion laptop g6 - Wifi problem after upgrade to 8.1 Windows

    KIM

    I have a Pavilion Notebook - C3M29EA #AB7 g6 and upgraded to 8.1 windows yesterday.

Since then, I was unable to detect my own wifi connection while I am able to detect my neighbours. (Everything worked fine before the update).

    Any suggestions?

    -Same here.

After an hour of time I will ever come back that I solved the problem.

    (1) go on the internet via the wired LAN port

    2) update drivers for Ralink wifi adapter

Go: Right click on the wireless network connection icon: properties/Configure/tab Driverr/update driver

    (3) after a minute or two of updateing the PC reports that the driver has been updated

    (4) pull the network cable and turn on WiFi.

What a pain in the anus,

    Anyway, as I said, corrected!

    Dansda.

  • HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n problem

So I had this problem which started today.

When I booted my PC: HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n - it goes to the startup screen with the HP logo but it remains just there frozen.

Another thing I have noticed is my mouse and keyboard are not powered at all even though they are correctly connected to their respective ports.

I don't know why he acts up like this now. I tried to connect the mouse to another PC and it worked, so there must be something wrong with the HP Pavilion itself.

Wouldn't be the motherboard or some circuit?

Other things to note that I got this PC reformatted all for more than a year with an installation of XP (as he came originally with XP).

Restarted the PC and still has the same issues. CD Player opens, the PC itself is powered and the screen is frozen on the blue screen HP startup. (Shows the menu and controls everything, but can not yet exploited cause there is not going to the keyboard.)

It is possible that a RAM module is either lost contact with the slot, or is defective. Can help with reintegration.

    (1) note what slots are occupied. Remove all the RAM of motherboard. Here's the tech manual. Put 1 module in the slot located near the CPU. According to the chassis, it could have a radiator/fan together.

    (2) unit to retest. Repeat with additional modules.

    (3) any module that tests OK can be reinstalled in appropriate accommodation.

  • International warranty problem

I bought my laptop in the United States, but now I'm in Russia.
So the problem with the display that's happened, but in the center of Russian service they told me that I should pay $ 200 for transfer!

    Is this right?

    Hello

AFAIK the international guarantee is for the whole world, and if the international warranty is valid I don't understand what kind of transfer, you pay.
You received from original sale including date of purchase?

The fact is that American books can be saved in Europe and the end of the international interest you have to pay for the repair.

    HI @Ayushi_kh

    Thank you for your response.

Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Please see Chapter 4 for removal and replacement.

When I was browsing through the maintenance and service guide, I noticed you have switchable graphics.

That being said, I suggest you do a recovery in factory.  This will reinstall the drivers of graphics cards correctly and I hope to solve this problem.

Performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

During the recovery, there is an option to backup your personal data if you do not have a recently I'd do one now to avoid any data loss.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)

If for any reason any recovery did not resolve the issue please provides your exact model of DV6.

How can I find my model number or product number?

Maybe it's a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

When this is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  • Pavilion 15-p050sm driver problem

I bought a HP Pavilion 15-p050sm. Windows 8.1 with all updates installed. Installed all the drivers from the HP website (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=7265...

But in the Device Manager still missing something...

Can someone tell me what is this unknown device?

Well I fixed it, but there was a bug in the installer 3D player (probably).

    The problem:

During the installation of the player 3D Guard (which has been linked in the previous post), he has not installed the accelerometer sensor driver, so it didn't work.

    The work around:

    1. Unzip the installation file.
    2. Find the folder Windows 8.1 where the driver inf files. Install manually from the Device Manager.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. The accelerometer sensor is now working. Cool.
    5. Reinstall the drive guard software 3D.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. This medication is COOL!
