HP pavilion AMD 500 - 259 10 670: update video card

I currently run an A10 AMD 670 k with a very R 7778 jasmine and a radeon R7 240 2 GB GPU motherboard. I seem to other posts on this topic but I wanted to start another I have never someone with this configuration seen questions on gpu upgrades. I would like to know if a gtx 960 will work on this configuration of HP.

Thx for any help at all

Greetings,

I'm running an EVGA GTX 960 4 GB SCcard in a 810-150se desire. Not exactly the same motherboard as yours.

This PC (810) was built in November 2013 and UEFI BIOS. Your PC is most recent. The 810-150se sport PCIe 2.0 PC so the new EVGA card is backward compatible and works fine.

I made sure that all previous Nvidia software and drivers have been uninstalled before installing the new card. This process, surprisingly, took about seven or eight uninstall and restarts until all previous versions of the Nvidia software had disappeared. Maybe it's not the case when moving from AMD, Nvidia, which removes several versions of the AMD software and drivers before installing the new graphics card.

Also disabled the start safe and active start inherited in the EFI (BIOS) before installing the new graphics card.

See you soon

    @johnh48, welcome to the forum.

The most recent video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI to mie-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI are the GTX 660/670.

Here is a video card that will give you what you need.  However, it will take a power supply (PSU) upgrade, too.  I love Corsair products.  I propose a modular power supply at least 500W.  Almost any card that meets your needs will require an upgrade of the power supply.

Now on windows 7, the games running slow - update video card driver error message and/or turn on hardware accelerator.  Sony supporting not - how make to identift video card in my laptop?

Press the Windows key, type in "Device Manager" without the quotes and the Device Manager select from the list that appears, or press ENTER.

In the window that appears, find graphics card and press the sign more or arrow to the left of it. It should fall down the name of the video card you have.

  • Pavilion 500-339: update video card for a 500-339 Pavilion

I have a HP Pavilion 500-339. AMD A10, processor 3.5 GHz quad-core with 8 GB of RAM, running windows 8.1, 64-bit. It came with a Radeon R7 240 video card. I know that physical space is limited inside the computer case, but what could I upgrade to that would fit? While not the biggest PC-gamer out there, I do not play a bit and I would like the best features. Thank you!

    Hello

Without replacing the power supply, the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI would be an excellent choice. Choose a model that does not require a 6-pin auxiliary power connector.  Open your Pc and do some measures so that you know for sure that the GTX model 750 will be fit. Most should adapt to certain expectations.  Know what the return policy is before you buy.

  • Pavilion 500-339: update video card for a 500-339 Pavilion... room with Ram?

I posted a message here a few days ago because I wanted to find a possible upgrade for my graphics card. I have a Pavilion 500-339, 3.5 GHz with 8g of RAM. The video card is a Radeo R7 240 and I want to upgrade. Big_Dave said (thanks for that!) but I am facing another problem. The motherboard is good, but compact and I fear that new video card (because it is longer) pretty much sitting on top the RAM (if it fits in all). I know that my computer is not a "PC game", but would that be a problem? One more time card would still hold? What choices do I have? Thank you

  • Pavilion g6 2303su: update video card?

Hello.  I'm here to ask you, could I upgrade my video card on my HP Pavilion 2303su g6?  As graphics card Radeon HD 7670 M becomes older and older, I was wondering if I can get my video card to a newer model of AMD or Nvidia even?

And also if I might well want to ask you if it is possible to update my video card, to give me some recommendations or the same list of compatible video card for my laptop designs.

Any help would be really greatly apreciated!

    Kind regards

    Hello:

There is no graphics removable/replaceable/extendable 'cards' in your noteobook.

(GPU) graphics cards, are chips that are welded and their circuit integrated on the motherboard.

The only way to update the graph on your laptop would be to replace the motherboard.

But as the graphical installation program has your laptop is the best that HP offered for this model, there is no motherboards available with better graphics.

  • Food and update video card for Pavilion s5 - 1021p

I want to upgrade the power supply 270w in my Pavilion s5 - to 500-600w 1021p and replace the graphics card integrated with a Radeon 4650 video card.  Is it possible, given the constraints of size?  Any help is appreciated!

    Hi callen3625,

According to HP Partsufer, the power supply of your PC is not included because it has a separate part number.  This is also confirmed by the information contained in the library of Services HP partner.  The block of power SUPPLY HP Partsurfer therein is 220 watts.

Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

Even more recent slimlines are other graphics cards AMD that work with a 220 Watt power supply.  Look here and here.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

You should contact HP support and get a recommendation of the video card or maybe even HP Partsurfer.

A PNY gtx 950 should physically be in a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f? I already know that I have to upgrade the power supply, but before shelling out more money, I figured I would see if anyone knew if the card fits?

    KKingotu, welcome to the forum.

The problem you will have with the GTX 950 is, it requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  Your computer was released on February 5, 2010.  There is no way to update the UEFI BIOS.  You can contact Technical Support PNY to see if they have a VBIOS update for the video card that will work with your motherboard.

Meanwhile in the space provided, you can measure e/s rear plate on the front of the computer case to see if any of the components.  In addition, it is a wide double card (two locations).

  • Update video card with Pavilion H8-1214

I have a HP Pavilion HPE H8-1214 with 6 X AMD970 chipset of the motherboard Gigabyte M3970AM, 10 GB memeory with an AMD Radeon HD7450 graphics card. It works really well, with the exception of the video card, which is usually the pint of starter in over-the-counter computers. I bought a power supply 600W for extra power and PCI-E cable; the installation went well and the computer still works well.

    HOWEVER...

Bought and tried an AMD R7-260 at Best Buy, which is a compatible card PCI-E x 16. No love, died in the start screen.

Tried an AMD R5-240, still no love & dies to the start screen.

Tried a 690 Nvidia it (what is said HP IS compatible) - died still in the start screen.

Finally got a Nvidia 610 to run there, but it's not better than than the AMD Radeon HD 7450.

Is there something that I am missing? BIOS has been flashed to 7.16, it's all clean and works very well with the 7450. Suggestions, please and thank you!

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

HP makes a great computer.  Therefore, it does not surprise me that is to be reliable and durable.

Here's a video card made by MSI that has a switch that will allow him to work with legacy and UEFI BIOS' are.  The only problem is the length.  It is 9.84 "in length.  You can make a model of the size of the card to see if it will enter in the space provided for this purpose.  There's a video directly below the image of the map.  Paul of Newegg did a good job of describing the map.

  • Pavilion 6654: 6654 update video card/power HP

I'll add 4additional giggabites to increase the total memory (RAM) to 8 GB so connected.

And besides, I will buy a 400W power supply.

Will this work for my current 6654 Pavilion?

Thanks for the quick response. My computer is...   HP Pavilion p6654y desktop PC.

You are welcome!  Thank you for the additional information.

As I suspected, your computer has a standard BIOS.  This means that you can buy an older video card.  I love EVGA products.  I suggest to find a card you like and contact Tech Support from the manufacturer (Technical Support EVGA 1-888-880-3842) in order to ensure that it will work on your computer.  It is the best way I found to do not have to make a return.  The last card done EVGA used a standard BIOS was their 640 GT.  Some of them have a update for the VBIOS that allows them to run with a standard BIOS.

Now for the power supply (PSU).  I love Corsair products.  I normally recommend at least 500W.  This allows for future updates.  A modular power supply is good for smaller cases.  Simply use the required cables, allowing a better air circulation.  You must measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.  All connectors must be compatible.

    Warhound, welcome to the forum.

The first thing you have to do is to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  Most recent most of mid-level video cards requires a minimum of 400 w to work properly.  I love Corsair products.  I normally recommend at least 500W.

Here are the system requirements for Battlefield 3.  (GTX 560 and AMD 6950) recommended graphics cards require 500W to work properly.

  • Update video card for 500-027 c

Im looking to upgrade my video card for HP 500-027c desktop computer and I was wondering if it can accommodate an EVGA GTX760 SC? I heard some people having problems with the GTX760 series of BIOS and doubts as to my turn may even support a double tie. Any suggestions?

    Kevin, welcome to the forum.

I think that users who have problems have not a UEFI BIOS into the motherboard.  Your computer has a complete UEFI BIOS.  The problem you will have is the length of the card (10.5 ") and the need for power (600 w) with a minimum of 42 amps on 12V + rail.  You can make a model of the size of the card to see if it will fit.  You need a lot of space for good air circulation.  The power supply can be improved.  You must at least 700W.

Note: After further research, I found that there are several different sizes of this video card with the requirements of different powers and lengths.

  • Update video card for HP Pavilion Dv7 2040us

HI My Dv7-2040us has an ATI Radeon 4650 video card. I want to run some new games and I need at least of 4860 to execute. I looked around and it seems that I need to get a new card and install it directly on my motherboard. It is all do able for me I just need to know which new card would be compatible with my laptop model. If anyone knows who or where I can start looking for one I would greatly appreciate the info. Thank you!

    Hello:

The only way you can update the video in your laptop is to replace the motherboard together with the one who has a better video solution.

However, when you look at Chapter 3 of the the service manual on the link below, you are already at the top of the mark about what video chip is on the available motherboards.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01689926.PDF

So, you will have to live with the status quo or to buy a new laptop.
