HP Pavilion: AMD SMBus
I think I have 64 bits. Microsoft just gave me an Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. AMD SMBus as a download option for an old HP desktop computer for 6 months with card AMD Radeon Graphics AMD A-10 k of 7700. What serves as the SMBus AMD, why would I need this download, and what problems might follow IF I download this optional update? Thanks for your time.

Hi there @Jason1966,
That the Forums are with you! I understand that you are looking for advice on upgrading a graphics card. I'm happy to help you with this.
Please report the number of complete product from your computer. Check out the following, if you need assistance with this information. HP desktop PC - how can I find my model number, serial number or product? Once I got that I can give you more in the way of what to look for.
In general, you should know what types of expansion slots your computer is available. More recent graphics cards will focus you on PCI Express x 16 slots and their willingness to be a version or the generation of these slots. If the motherboard has only Gen 1.0, and the graphics card is Gen 3.0, then the card would work, but it will run more slowly he would in a slot of Gen 3.0. So you want to look at the capacity of your computer's power supply. A common value is 300 W. Higher end graphics cards will be a requirement of minimum recommended power of 400 W or more, although there are cards with a lower requirement. It is always better to have a power that exceeds the minimum value. Also related to food some graphics cards require extra power of a specific type connections. You must make sure that your diet has these connections available. Then, make sure that the card has drivers for the operating system installed on your computer, and if the card is UEFI, make sure that your system has UEFI.
If all these parameters are filled between your system and the card, the graphics card should work, but there is never a guarantee, because each computer system is as an individual, once it's in the hands of a user. You may have already installed another device that is in conflict with this card or perhaps a software which does not get her drivers graphics. So long story short, it is not easier to just buy a better card, you need to do some research.
I hope this helps clarify the issues for you and if you find it helpful and useful, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

The two foregoing appeared on my computer in the last 24 hours, asking for me to install and fix the problems.
The MCP said Microsoft partner gold Application Development, asking to scan my computer.
AMD said that she had detected that the driver was out of date or not there. (My computer is 5 months old).
The last time I did an update from HP that appeared on my computer, I had so many problems, he did my head in. I read some of the information that is on your forum, but I do not understand the jargon. How to know if some of them are scams or not?
Thanks for your help

The SlimCleaner was probably download with something else, that's why I always custom install to control what is installed. This program is more of a scam than anything else and suggest uninstall you. If is far too aggressive for beginners to use.

HP pavilion AMD 500 - 259 10 670: update video card

I seem to other posts on this topic but I wanted to start another I have never someone with this configuration seen questions on gpu upgrades. I would like to know if a gtx 960 will work on this configuration of HP.
Thx for any help at allGreetings,
I'm running an EVGA GTX 960 4 GB SCcard in a 810-150se desire. Not exactly the same motherboard as yours.
This PC (810) was built in November 2013 and UEFI BIOS. Your PC is most recent. The 810-150se sport PCIe 2.0 PC so the new EVGA card is backward compatible and works fine.
I made sure that all previous Nvidia software and drivers have been uninstalled before installing the new card. This process, surprisingly, took about seven or eight uninstall and restarts until all previous versions of the Nvidia software had disappeared. Maybe it's not the case when moving from AMD, Nvidia, which removes several versions of the AMD software and drivers before installing the new graphics card.
Also disabled the start safe and active start inherited in the EFI (BIOS) before installing the new graphics card.
See you soon

Pavilion AMD mainboard: adding usb 3.0 to Narra3(M2N68-LA) mainboard

I read your post on how you're looking to install an expansion card USB 3.0 on your desktop computer, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!
According to the specifications of the product for your motherboard, there are:
- A PCI Express x 16 Slot
- Two PCI Express x 1 Slots and
- A PCI Slot
You should be able to upgrade your system with a USB 3.0 card, as long as it meets the above requirements.

I managed to make the most of the drivers through Windows Update, but there is an on the CONTROLLER of BUS SM exclaimation mark.
Unfortunately, there are no drivers XP on the HP support Site.
Thanks in advance.
Since you have changed from a differnet Windows you must download and install the NVIDIA chipset drivers. For your motherboard that would be here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.24.html

Ver5.12.0.13 AMD driver SMBus
Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook dv7-6165US running Windows 7 HomePremium 64 bit.
I, ve the AMD Catalyst Control Centre to upgrade to the latest version (The AM D Catalyst™ 14.4 Release candidate driver); all is well except that driver is missing - (AMD SMBus driver ver5.12.0.13), as usual. I find the latest versions of catalyst manager works much better the original (especially with overdrive) that's why I'm going to the trouble of installing them.
What I usually do in this case (for installing previous versions of "Catalyst") runs the cleanup AMD utility, install the original AMD (sp54362) with the option personalized with only the ver5.12.0.13 pilot SMBus AMD makes TIC TACS, but which will also install the Manager. Install the latest version then it will install on the previous version Manager. Which is far from ideal... is not a clean install of the Manager.
It works very well... but it would be better if I just the AMD SMBus driver to install separately. But I can't find anywhere?
Any ideas?
Thank you
Personally, I don't see what is the problem, but if you want just the smbus himself controller driver...
Download and install this free utility for files.
Then, download, but do not run the file of chipset drivers I posted.
Right-click on the amd chipset driver file and select 7 - zip option in the options list.
Choose 7-Zip to extract to: and let him extract the name of the file, so it's easy for me to find in the next step.
After that the driver file has been created, go to the Device Manager and click the controller smbus needing drivers.
Click on update driver driver. Select her browse my computer for driver software method and find the driver 7-zip created folder.
Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the smbus controller driver should install.

Lack of device drivers for HP Pavilion m6 - 1084ca
Hello
I have a HP Pavilion m6 - 1084ca Entertainment Notebook PC with Dual AMD Radeon HD graphics 7660 + 7600 M and have recently had problems with my graphics card drivers (I tried the coat that I shoudn't have since everything worked very well). I have the uninstalled and reinstalled them. Now, they seem to work except that I now have some unknown devices in Device Manager. Here is the hardware ID. I can't find the proper drivers.
- Unknown devices under:
1ST: PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_7812 & SUBSYS_18A7103C & REV_03
2ND: PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_7812 & SUBSYS_18A7103C & REV_03
- Under Bus USB controllers
Unknow device: locationort_ #0003.Hub_ #0003 unknown hardware Id
which I believe was PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & SUBSYS_18A7103C & REV_14
This last hardware ID I think was for an AMD smBus and I thought I had found the driver and installed it. Then when I restarted the unknown device seems unknown devices have left for Universal Serial Bus Controller but is still unknown (and now, does not have a hardware ID). I had the driver here that I realized later was for another HP computer.
Anyway I can't find anywhere that I can get these three pilots. I started watching my computers page on the HP site but could not locate the appropriate drivers.
I have been looking for the drivers for chipset for my computer, but can't find them. I was told that install the chipset drivers will fix this as are the drivers I'm missing in the chipset drivers. I don't know how to proceed.
I will continue to comb the internet hoping to find these drivers. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated
I was reading this and it has been proposed as an easy solution to close and disconnect the battery and the power of the computer and leave it for 30 sec. I then return the computer and went to the Device Manager, and now there is no problem. Thanks for your help.
I tried all the suggestions except message 9.

I recently upgard the SamSung 850 EVO 500 GB hard drive.

Does that mean my laptop has 3 USB ports?
Does that mean anyway?

Hello
Yes, this means that your computer has one or more USB 3.0 ports. Do not help the specs:
But you can check out, USB port symbol SS nect him (SS is Super Speed I think). Based on his guide, he has 1 port USB 2.0 on the right and 2 ports USB 3.0 on the left:
USB 3.0 ports give much better speed on USB 2.0
