Update of DVD writer

I have a hp Pavilion G5410uk desktop computer. Recently a virus 'Search Delta' embedded itself when I reinstalled mozilla firefox and I couldn't remove it. He wouldn't let me remove firefox either, so ultimately as a last resort, I did a system restore to conditions of factory, which means I lost downloads including a DVD update Ref sp57159. Now, I can not reinstall the update because it denies me access that I need to be logged in as an administrator. I am a home user. Please can you advise on how to get around this.

Say hello to new swearydad.

If you are the only user of the computer, then you should be administrator.  I don't know what could happen there.

Do you have an anti-virus program?  I suggest you start an analysis and a program like MalwareBytesanti-malware.  There may be some malware causing problems on the machine again.

Have you tried to do a right-click on the update and selecting "run as Administrator"?

Have a good afternoon.

I can't have the CD/DVD writer to work well. I looked on the downloads page, but there seems to be nothing. It reads the CD/dvd, but allow me to write to them. If I put a blank CD in nothing happens.

Someone has ideas how to get this working again?

    Thanks in advance...

  • Satellite 2450-201: update driver DVD - IDE #1 error

    Hello

I need help to upgrade the dvd for my laptop model Satellite 2450-201 with internal dvd writer.

I have LG and I got this message at startup: error IDE #1. Any suspicion that I speak with Dep. error tech and he said that the problem of compatible driver. I think that good performance with the system.

If I update the bios from 1.3 to 1.5 it will solve this problem?
Or do I need another brand name model to replace the old DVD with DVD - RW?

    Hello

As someone from the tech, adj. suggested that this error message appears because the car is not compatible.
The disc has a bad master/slave setting and so the BIOS can not recognize the drive.
To resolve this problem, you must upgrade the laptop with compatible player.

    I found a compatible Toshiba PA3255U-1DV1 DVD-RAM drive. But this isn't a burner.
I suggest to contact Toshiba service partner in your country to control the compatible player and supported. So you can be sure that you will get a good player.

  • DVD HP dvd200i drive: HP DVD Writer dvd200i installation software

I removed my OEM HP DVD Writer dvd200i from HP Win XP machine died at a Win 7 machine.  It is not recognized, so I guess I need s/w installation.  Am I correct, and where can I get the s/w?  I searched HP support and can't find any s/w installation it for HP DVD Writer dvd200i model.

What you need is not the installation software, but a driver.

To appear in Device Manager?  If so, clidk right it and update driver.  It must install at least one generic driver.

This isn't a young unit and unfortunately HP only provides drivers for it up to Windows XP.  You try to install the driver compatibility by right click on the downloaded exe file then compatibility mode.

  • Win 7 and DVD writer LG GP50Nb40 USB - device unknown

    Hello

I bought the DVD external USB GP50Nb40 LG burner and I'm under Win 7 64 bit.  I have connected the device with the supplied cable and windows says that there is already a device and refused to play the DVD.

I have a HP DVD writer internal.  so I assumed that there was a conflict and disabled the HP device.  Windows has always refused to recognize the device.

then I activated the HP and put the LG inside installation disk and copied it on my hard drive.

then I opened my office case and disconnect the power cable and sata internal DVD HP.

then I turned the computer back on and the LG software installed disk.

then I downloaded an update from LG as directed by their software.

He failed because he said that I didn't have the specified device from LG.

but I have the LG connected via USB 2.0 hub, but I can't use it all.

    Windows displays an unknown device.

is there anyway to get my external LG to work or do I have to return to electronic Fry?

I've already spent more than 2.5 hours on what should have been a very simple installation, that's why I bought a USB device instead of an internal procedure.

Assuming that you tried to connect to USB ports - preferably a USB port on the back plane of the computer and not through a hub - I assume that the device is defective and return.

From what I can tell, this external hard drive does not have its own power supply and relies on the USB for power.  This can cause problems if you have other devices drawing power.  Try that it connected directly to the computer with no other USB devices connected other than the keyboard and mouse.

When I try to use it I get an error message not saying "No HP DVD drive detected on this computer."

However, my device manager clearly has the listed drive (HP DVD Writer 640v USB Device) and there is no indication that something is wrong with the drive. I have not yet identify updates if there is at all.

I tried all the tips troubleshooting on the HP site.

    I don't know what I'm missing.

    Advice would be appreciated.

I searched for a long time on this subject, but I don't have a specific answer, and so I decided to ask my manufacturer.

So please I would like to have the answer as soon as possible.

    Hello

Yes, I think that it is possible, because the L10-189 has a DVD Super Multi drive installed.
Go to a service partner, they can build in the player for you. Otherwise, you will lose your warranty.

    Hi Arek

In my opinion, there are many reasons that may be responsible for this problem.

One of them is a conflict with other software of CD burning, that is currently or was once installed on the system. These other recording programs registry changes is the normal cause and only for cleaning the registry after removing the software will solve the problem.

You have some other burning software installed on your device?

    Hello

I use HP Pavilion laptop g6 and it has the same windows 7 Home Edition I got when purchasing the laptop.

I inserted a DVD that had some photos, and then my antivirus has warned that there is a virus. I clicked on "move to the Vault", but he said something like 'located in the optical drive.

    Help, please!

It seems that your antivirus has played a role in the present. What anti-virus do you use?

You had considered using the system restore Windows to upgrade the operating system of your laptop computer to a restore point dated to before this happened?

The following video shows you how to use the system restore. You don't need to go in Mode safe mode system restore is accessible from within a normal Windows desktop.
