HP Pavilion: built in webcam

Hello - I have an old HP Pavilion, I don't know the model. I bought it in 2007.  I'm having a problem turning on the webcam, which I never used.  I can find "simple webcam" in the Device Manager and the computer seems to think that it works properly and is installed.  But there is nothing to click on activate.  My options are 'disable' and 'uninstall', but nothing like that 'enable' 'access' or anything that suggests a way to running.  Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Amy,

I'm sorry that I could not explain it clearly.  My apologies for the confusion.

I thought that maybe I had to use a program that uses the webcam.  I'm just surprised all say these tutorials, you can activate it just be by clicking on 'enable '. I'll probably have to download a program to use to turn it on. Thank you.

That is right.  You need a program to use the Webcam.

The 'Device Manager' manages the hardware of the camera - to activate the camera 'or a camera' in the operating system.  The software which "pushes" the camera says: "I am a HD webcam who lives in Windows and I'm active."

You need a program that works with "you" the user, which provides audio and video, controls the ability to adjust color, small pieces of fantasy that add camera zoom controls.

YouCam program for this.  If that's the name of the program which is installed (or must be installed) on your computer, the program will be on the computer or it can be downloaded and installed from the Support Page for your computer Web site.

  • What is the best way to set a built-in webcam?

My phone fell recently on his side of the counter for hardwood floor. My laptop (HP Pavilion g6) survived the fall and has seemed to suffer only a minor chip on the upper left. Everything seemed to remain as it was before the fall. The next time I tried to use my webcam, however, seems to be zoomed in its entirety and not in the update. When I place my thumb on the camera, it changes the lighting for a second before returning to its original state blurred. I think that the webcam is still working but perhaps has been jumped or moved? What is the best move for me to have this problem?  I lack the idea of buying an external webcam.

    Hi krissy2314,

As mentioned by Hula_Baloo in the previous post, you need to contact the manufacturer of the computer for help because it is an built-in webcam.

My built-in webcam on my P200 recently stopped working.

To resolve this problem, I thought I would updat the pilots of the site however do, installing these drivers fail to say that I need to contact the hardware vendor, which means that I can't use my cam.

You can do it by using System Restore tool. The system to only regular control points.

  • S50-B-12Z - sleep and charge satellite interferes with built-in webcam

    Hello
    I have a Toshiba SATELLITE S50-B-12Z with Windows 8.1.
Recently, when using Skype, the built-in webcam has stopped working.

At first, I thought it broke, until I tried to use the camera application.
This app does blue light and work the webcam, but for a second, then the Toshiba sleep and load the application is passed in and stopped and it starts to alternate between the camera and the blue light and the small window of sleep and the load.

So, with no remedy for this situation, I tried the recovery option to get factory settings, same question once again, alternating between the camera and sleep behavior and load.

I tried a refreshment and uninstall the Toshiba sleep and load the software and alternative behavior stopped, but now the webcam does not work. Update another and the same all over again.

I'm not an expert, but for what I see the webcam is related, in this model, for the USB hardware, so I think that sleep and charge feature interferes with the web cam (even when the software is uninstalled).

    Ideas for this problem?
    Thank you in advance.

    Bujar

    Hi Sonia

To be honest, I don t think that sleep & service or this service would affect the features of webcam.
TOSHIBA sleep utility allows you to charge USB devices such as a cell phone with the computer in standby mode or even stop mode. This is why there should be no link between this function and webcam

I can't say with certainty what's going wrong with your internal webcam but the fact is that in many cases the webcam and sleep function & load could be turned on and off in the BIOS.

In my opinion, you should perform a few checks.
First set the default BIOS settings (load default by pressing F9) and check if the webcam is enabled in the BIOS.

Second if you think that there is still a link between sleep and charge function and the webcam, then disable the sleep and the load in the BIOS, just to check if it will make a difference.

  • Portege R700 - 1 DL built in Webcam

    Hello world

How can I access the built-in Webcam in my Portege R700 with third party software Polycom PVX, for example, in the control panel of this software, I can choose the webcam of toshiba as a video device, but it does not work (no image)

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hello

To be honest, I've never heard of this problem, but if you want to use the webcam with external software such as Skype, you must first close the webcam software. Example of webcam starts with Windows and that you should close it before starting, it is a 3rd party program.

  • Built in webcam on the L750D/L755D Satellite to take photographs of the snapshot

I have a laptop named above, even if it is true that I'm not sure one.
I was wondering if it was possible to use the webcam that is built in, to take the snapshot photographs.

I tried using Windows Movie Maker, it did not work and I am unable to use the webcam unless I'm in a video conversation but it doesn't seem to be a way to access "on its own" so to speak.

    Is this possible?
    Thank you

    Hello

Of course, you can use the built in webcam outside a video chat tool.
Software of the webcam should usually preinstalled on your laptop.
You should find it in all programs-> Toshiba

Starting the software for the webcam, a webcam control bar should appear.
This bar is movable, so it could appear in the top, left, right or bottom of the screen box, but this will not be visible unless you move the cursor over this area.

  • Qosmo G40 - built Chicony Webcam incompatible with windows live messenger

I can't have the built-in webcam to work on my brand new G40 - 108 with Windows Live Messenger. I get the following message appears when you try to set up "audio and video setting" the Herald: "Windows cannot connect to this webcam. Close any program that may be using this webcam and restart the wizard."

He connected with technical support from Toshiba, which were also unable to solve the problem. We have tried to disable both webcam at startup apps. If both executed at startup, the chicony software does not work.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'll update this post if I get a resolution on their part.

    Thank you!

    Yes I have a solution.
Remove the old software and the driver for the system.
Go to the Toshiba European page and download the latest software for a chicony and the driver.
Then install on the laptop and enjoy.

Notes; Restart the laptop everytime after reinstalling the driver.
