HP Pavilion dv-7-4180us: upgrade pavilion dv-7 from Win 7 to 10 to win?

Hello. I have a HP pavilion dv-7-4180us laptop. I think to be upgraded to win 10 when it comes out. The Best Buy Geek Squad says they can do and that my laptop is extensible. However, I need more details and guarantees. Where would I go to find out exactly how my laptop would be compromised if I'm updating so Windows 7 to Windows 10? Whatever it is will stop working, like my CD rom drive, for example? Thank you.

  • Windows 8.1 upgrade is not possible because win 8 is not enabled

A few months ago, I bought a new laptop of Toshiba Satallite with 8 Windows preinstalled
Now I want to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows. But I don't see the upgrade of Windows 8.1 in Windows store. I think it's because my current installed windows seems not you be activated...

When I try to activate, I get error: 0xC004F074.
I found a solution using the command: SLUI 3 and then enter the product key to activate it, but I don't have a product key! There is no sticker with a product key on the laptop.

Could someone help me with this question, so I can activate my current installation of Windows 8 and upgrade to Windows 8.1?

    Hello

I had some problems with an upgrade to 8.1 to win in the past...
Finally, I managed to install the Windows 8.1 update once the laptop has been set back to factory settings.

I'm not sure if this should be done in your case, but where the 8.1 Win update is not possible after installing all the windows updates, you should reset the PC back to factory settings. After that the upgrade should work.

Upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows 7 Starter will mess up to my laptop?

You can do an Express upgrade - it's a quick and easy process. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

    Express Upgrade purchase

Type of upgrade Express in the box files and research programs in the start menu and click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can buy an upgrade from Starter to a higher version of Windows 7. Then you can enter your Express Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade. Online Anytime Upgrade is not available in all countries.

I'm getting an unmountable_boot_volume during the upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows Vista.  It occurs after Windows 7 software loads and restarts.  If I restart the computer, I have the option to start the upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows Vista.  If I select Windows Vista, the computer restarts without problem.  If I choose Windows 7 Upgrade, I get the blue screen of death with the unmountable_boot_volume error.  Of course, nothing wrong with the boot volume because Windows Vista starts without error.  The boot drive is 1.5 TB.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish the upgrade to Windows 7?

  • EX177AVR: I would like to upgrade the processor in my HP pavilion DV 8300 from 32-bit to a 64-bit can it be

I want to upgrade my 8 processor would like to upgrade to 64 bit 32 bit processor to a 64-bit in my HP pavilion DV 8300 it is a 32-bit with Windows 7 and would like to know to what extent I could upgrade my laptop that I use a lot please help if you can would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time.

Those were nice computers laptops in the day but now completely obsolete. Use the Pentium M (Centrino) unique 32-bit processors and memory DDR 1 which tops out at 2 GB. You could do a minimum competence for browsing the Web and word processing, but it is really made for Windows XP, Vista not even without talking about Windows 7-10. It is not capable of running the 64-bit software.

  • HP Pavilion G6: upgrade of the G6 from HP pavilion.

Hi all. I was wondering what components I could upgrade in my 6 GB of ram, 1.7 Ghz APU Pavilion G6. I need to upgrade my proccessor running at 90% only at the start and gave zero factory it but no difference in performance. Can anyone help?

As suspects, it is a processor AMD E2. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

It's the motherboard you have and it IS one where the processor and the motherboard are one piece.

For use only with models of computers with processors AMD E2-1800 and Windows 8 Standard 697230-501

The class E2 of processors is very low, as you have noticed. They are more like a netbook or Tablet processor rather than something that you want to use for the calculation of the grave. You could help the situation by increasing the memory of 8 GB (maximum) to remove the module from 2 gig you have and its replacement by a 4 GB. You could also install an SSD. You would spend about $150 between these two updates and I'm not sure it's worth. You will notice an improvement however but from memory and faster storage cannot completely lift the load from the central unit that must be part of the job and yours is just not up to the task.

Your laptop computer case fit a half-bridge AMD or Intel motherboard but you would have to buy the motherboard and processor as well and that the cost will be well over $150 and are approaching the cost of a new phone.

  • The Pavilion 743 G for Win 7 upgrade

    Hello

I have a Pavilion 743 G with 1 GB of memory. I used the Win7 Upgrade advisor, and he pointed out that the graphics card is not compatible. Could someone tell me

    (1) what is a compatible graphics card?

    (2) can I increase memory also and, if so, how?

    (3) is an effort worth it?

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Thank you

    Sanjeev

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion 743 g Desktop Computer. and it is the motherboard THE P4G (Corolla) or TriGem 129504 (imperial) . In both cases the maximum memory is 1 GB or 2 GB and or motherboard are supported using an AGP or PCIe x 16 graphics card.  I would say it isn't worth it to upgrade a computer since 2002/2003 and you can switch to a newer computer.

    Hello:

If you are ready to roll the dice, see if it works...

Try direct download and immediate upgrade method.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/w indows10

I think you can use W7 32 bit nForce 430 chipset driver, it might work.

You may need to install the driver manually if automatic installation method does not work.

You'd have to roll back to W7, if the suggestion above does not work.

  • Pavilion g7t-1100: Internal Microphone does not work do not on HP Pavilion g7t-1100 after winning 10 update

Can someone (1) confirm that this model of laptop computer has an internal microphone and (2) say how to operate?

    Story:

I've had this laptop for several years with Win 7 64 bit, recently upgraded to win 10 64-bit edition.  When you run Windows 7, I've certainly used an external microphone with the Jack, but I'm not sure I've ever used the internal mic.  Yesterday I tried to use Skype and couldn't get the microphone to work (I don't have an external mike where I am now).  Started trying to analyze and the only peripheral record listed in the recording of the sound control Panel tab is "Stereo Mix, IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" - don't know if this applies to the internal mic.  Speaking to, or by tapping on the hole of the microphone above the display caused no response at all in the level to the right of the window bars.

Began to doubt that I have an internal mike, so looked up specifications.  On http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02910495, I found "Webcam with integrated digital Microphone (VGA)", which led me to go on webcam integrated under imaging devices.  Still no final confirmation that I have a mike internal, but I found a laptop computer with mike identified next to the webcam image, this corresponds to my laptop, so I really think that the material is there.

I used Device Manager to check the updates for the device webcam (HP Webcam-101), and he says that the drivers are up to date.  I did the same thing for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, also updated.  I think that the drivers have been updated when I upgraded to win 10 in February.

That's it - information or suggestions are welcome.

    Hi there @BruceBon,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! I read your message on the HP Support Forums and see that you are having problems with the microphone on your HP Pavilion g7t-1100 CTO Notebook PC.

The reason why you can't find loads or User Guides/Manuals books appropriate because the model you have is a laptop CTO, this means it is customized/configured to order. Where did you get to buy your laptop?

When I went to the Service Guide and HP Pavilion G7 maintenance (generic), it shows an internal microphone located at the top of the LCD, but again, your laptop is a CTO model this is why there is no specification of final product because each of them can be customized.

You can try to look over some of the screenshots in the microphone troubleshooting document. There are a few sections of this document that you can try.

If you right click you see him show disabled devices and display devices disconnected in the recording of the Properties tab?

They have check marks next to them?

This answer doesn't solve your problem or answer your question? If so, please share the good news! Inform others that this answer was helpful by clicking on the button accept as a Solution . You can also show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems, and where you bought your laptop from.

  • Pavilion DV6000 - update for win 7, card WIRELESS Intel Pro - 100 EV is not compatible with Win 7

question: Pavilion DV6000 - upgrade vista to windows 7, WIRELESS Intel Pro - VE 100 card is not compatible with Windows 7

You want to upgrade Vista current on this laptop HP for Windows 7 ultimate. I'm upgrading and not install it from scratch.

So here's what I have so far...

    1. the Microsoft compatibility tool indicates that the current driver Intel pro 100 VE network connection is not compatible

    2. the Intel site, it says it does not support the OEM driver - to go to the manufacturer site

    http://www.Intel.com/support/network/adapter/PRO100/sb/CS-025637.htm

    3. the driver found on the driver download area HP.com is compatible with Windows XP only says

Windows 7 may have a built-in driver, he doesn't have much. According to this > Page, it is included in the Windows 7 Installer.
