HP Pavilion dv 9205us, 2 MB of RAM - running slow

I have a dv9205us we enjoy using.  I would like to be updated rather than repalce it.  I'm open to MB, CPU, RAM and suggestions of cooling.  Thank you.

Here's the big problem. You are limited to 2 GB of RAM. You have the Turion TL - 50 CPU and which can be improved to a certain extent, but as you know the cooling system is disputed and the motherboard is prone to failure of the heat. There is no better motherboard that can be installed. Let me suggest humbly than a SSD concert 120 or 180's now for a reasonable price; as little as 60 cents a gig or less. Jump in a SSD drive and reinstall Windows 7 would make a very usable computer. An SSD also makes it run cooler. I just recently renovated almost the same model and that's exactly what I did after cleaning on the real well. It has worked fine for daily tips. The laptop was ahead of its time from a design point of view and they always seem very contemporary.

There are radical things you can do to help the cooling and the AMD TL-64 CPU (the highest upgrade you can do) is very cheap. If you want more help, I know these models well enough and would have a few suggestions that are not for most people, but available for the more adventurous.

  • PC running slow increadibly with 128 MB of RAM - recommended to increase the RAM

Original title: pc running slow increadibly with 128 MB of RAM

My mother's PC runs incredibley slowly.
After you perform a clean installation of win xp and addition of firefox, and avast antivirus, pc still increadibly slow.
His laptop is a HP Omnibook xe4100 and has 128 MB of ram.
What I do need to update the ram of the laptop computer or is the problem of something that can be fixed with software recording cleaning?
Thanks for any help on this!

If you did a clean install, it is not the registry slow down your computer. A clean installation removes all and back windows on the system with just windows files, so the registry is only what is absolutely need to run.

128 MB of RAM is incredibly low, so even if the slowness is caused by something else, you should buy more in any case, because it will help the computer a little.

  • Pavilion dv6 Notebook: card WiFi and RAM update

My WiFi is not able to go as fast as the speed that I pay the cable company.  I tell myself that if I pay for it I would be able to go that fast.  How can I tell what will work in my notebook?  Same question as the RAM. Currently I have 4 GB and would like to go as far as I can.

Please tell me what I need to know, in layman's terms, to buy what I need.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Your computer is a HP Pavilion dv6-6112nr laptop PC:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02996687

    1. WiFi: your machine was built around 2011 so the wifi upgrade is out of the question. You can use the USB dongle if you wish.

2 for the RAM: your device supports 16 GB max (it has 4 GB from the beginning). Please see page 66 of the following manual for part number. You can buy HP or elsewhere.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842252.PDF

The manual also shows you how add/replace RAM. More manual:

  • Pavilion dv6-6159er: max size of RAM in dv6-6159er

Tell me, please, what is the maximum size of RAM I can use in the Pavilion dv6-6159er?

Official website shows 8Gb. But the characteristics of the processor i5 2140 m - a indicated that the maximum size of RAM is 16 GB.

On models with gen 2d Intel Core, Quad Cores will have 16 gigs and the dual core 8. The OP is a dual core so 8 is the maximum. All that will be a 8 + 4 will take 8 + 8.

  • HP Pavilion x 360 convertible: upgrading my RAM on the x 360 changeable

Good so I'm not new to work on desktop or laptop. However, this new model of HP Pavilion x 360 changeable has to ask me how do. Looks like I need to remove the keyboard and the plate to which it is attached, to get to one of the inner workings of sort I unscrewed everything and then worked to burst the plastic spikes that I did and then I realized its so easy to remove. It seems that the keyboard is locked in place or glued to the Center I was wondering if one knows something about this or no matter what help they can give me. Thank you

The maintenance manual should be in the "User's Guides" section of product support page, the RAM in the manual guide lists all parts that you have to go out just to get to the memory and that's almost all!

I suggest to read and review all procedures first and if you still want to go ahead and lose your warranty, print the manual or copy it into a phone, tablet or eReader before removing the first live!

  • HP Pavilion g6 1040-ex: Upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion g6

    Hello

I bought the HP Pavilion g6 1040-ex with product number LP233EA #A2N of Saudi Arabia.

    1. I want to upgrade my RAM. Which can be maximum RAM this laptop can work with?
    2. What are the reference number of this RAM?
    3. In which case reference numbers are not available on the local market, are there alternatives available?

    TIA

    The manual says:

Supports up to 8 GB of memory system

    Memory modules (DDR3 1066 MHz) ● 4 GB PC3 10600 1333 MHz shared 621569-001

You would be able to use any DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM (i.e. portable computer memory). It must be low density and which means 8 black blocks on the side of the chip as a module in the image.

See s. 51 of the manual here for 'how-to ':

It's a older laptop maybe 4-5 years ago, you know? Also if you really 32-bit Windows 7 above you will not be able to add effective memory. It takes the 64-bit version to run 4 or more gigabytes of RAM. Care say that this model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium so do not know what you have now.

  • PAVILLION G6 2320: HP PAVILION G6 2320 Upgdate SSD and RAM increase

    Hello

My laptop has been super slow recently (it was 3.8 years).

To increase performance, I want to get my current hard drive removed and would love an SSD to take his place.

Also I want to increase my RAM 8 GB (4 GB)

Kindly let me know if this is possible.

There are two slots for RAM? If so, should I just buy a 4 GB addititonal or buy 4 recent 2 GB RAM?

    Product details:

HP PAVILION TX NB PC 2320 G6
    [personal information]

    REPAIR:

    Manual

    See p. 46.

    Specified module:

You can buy 2 of them if you want but by adding 1 to the existing module also work very well and provides all the performance that the laptop is able to give as much as memory.

Alternatively, you can install a 2.5-inch SATA SSD instead of hard drive. Let us know if you need help with reinstalling the software. With 10 already installed Windows, you can easily download a restore disc directly from Microsoft to at least get reinstalled OS on the SSD.

Also, tell me that it is a good idea to install the first location of 2 GB and 4 GB in second Slot? or go with 2 * 2 GB into the two slots? My processor is Capable of running 4 + 2 GB of RAM?

    I joined my current RAM.

If you are going to use 4 gig modules get 2 as it is only a few dollars more and you'll be much happier with it running in dual channel mode.

  • Pavilion 15 t-bc000: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion 15 t-bc000

I just got my HP Pavilion 15 t-bc000 in the mail today. I have an old DV6 who died and there extra RAM I put in what I want to put in my new Pavilion. However, I do not know how to do it. My old DV6 has a panel on the bottom that you can unscrew for easy access to the RAM, wireless card and the hard drive. My new 15 t-bc000 does not seem to have such coverage on the bottom. In fact, is not all the coverage on the bottom at all. It seems I have renovated the entire background bordered somehow just to get to the RAM or to remove the battery, if I ever had to do, but I don't know if it's even possible. Can I not put in more RAM on my new computer?

Ah, I see. I looked on the order and found that it uses DDR4 instead of DDR3. I'll call HP technical support and see if it is possible to update the RAM themselves. Thank you!

  • HP Pavilion e033tx-15 taken Maximum supported RAM

I intend to buy a 15-e033tx Pavilion. Main use would be for software development. Client and the server end development involving heavy stuff like Oracle 12 c and WebLogic.  Also for casual games and movies. I would be grateful if someone could answer the following questions. I tried the net but found no reliable answers.

    1. What is the maximum amount of memory supported? (he would support 12 GB?)

    2. I've seen complaints on issues related to the use of the features of ATI dedicated graphics. Are there any known issues?

A quick response would be much appreciated.

It can take 16 gigabytes of RAM. And I would not be inaccurate to say there has been no problem with switchable graphics. Many people have bad especially after a Windows 8.1 update. I think this is generally a problem of the user, since the switchable graphics use is slightly higher than the capacity of the average user.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 5CH1342RW4: maximum capacity of RAM and GPU compatible

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6 5CH1342RW4 laptop computer Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20 GHz.

What is the maximum RAM of my laptop? It came with 6 GB (2 GB SODIMM ELPIDA 1333 MHz
4 GB SODIMM Micron), now I want to upgrade.  It will be up to 8GB, 16 GB, or even?

And on my his AMD Radeon HD M 7400 gpu. I would also like to update in a more advanced gpu. What are the compatible gpu for my laptop?

Hope to here from you soon guys. Thank you!

8 GB (2 x 4 GB modules) is your maximum memory and there is no way to upgrade the GPU. It is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced. The numbers you supply are not portable or product model number we would need for more specific information. There may be another motherboard that you could install which would have slightly better graphics, but it would be, at best, a slight improvement for a significant cost and hassle.

  • Pavilion P7 - 1003w Win 7 sp1 - RAM problems...

I have a Pavilion P7-1003w running Windows 7 sp1.  I have 2 strips of 4 GB of RAM installed, which should show that 8 GB under Windows Properties.  Instead it shows 16 GB (7.75 exploitable).  I tried to remove 1 stick and leaving 1 installed, the results show 12 (3.75 usable) GB.  I tried each stick individually in each of the 2 available DIMM slots and each time I get the same results.

Why is this, and can it be fixed?  Or maybe it's bad advice?  Any suggestions are appreciated.
