HP Pavilion DV6-2010sa recovery

Last February the HARD drive damaged carrying with him the recovery partition. I haven't had the recovery discs myself because I forgot to so now I can't, so there is no way that just order them from somewhere, apparently to Malta, no HP Agent cannot order a recovery disc for me. Is there another way to get them since I live in Malta? Pls I really need help!

You can ask them to try to order the recovery media for you, shipped it to them, then they can ship it to you, I did it for a friend to the Brazil recently. They will need the number of the portable computer.

They can order the recovery here media

  • Problems with the DVD on Pavilion dv6-2010sa

HP Pavilion dv6-2010sa laptop computer (under Windows 7 x 64), I bought less than a week ago.

I started the disk recovery software to back up my OS in the event of future disasters.

I used a DVD + disc, so it would take 3 discs to do the recovery disks.

First DVD completed successfully. Software asked me to enter the disk 2.

This is where I started to have problems.

Drive recovery software couldn't recognize my blank dvd +.

The drive makes a lot of noise, but then stopped making noise.

I tried a few other DVDs +, but to no avail.

I rebooted the computer laptop and tried but same problem.

So I tried to play a dvd movie to see if it was the disk recovery software or the dvd player.

He would not play a dvd movie.

I also tried to play an audio CD but the same problem.

The drive icon appears in Windows Explorer, but does not display any info (or open the CD / DVD) when I have a CD or a DVD in there.

So it seems to be a problem with the DVD-> grateful not any CD / DVD

    If someone can advise?

PS. I searched the driver DVD (so I could Reinstall driver) but the HP Web site does not contain the driver for 2010sa (DVD software only)

    Thanks in advance

    Gary

    Problem solved.

    Uninstall the device dvd player:

-Device Manager > do a right-click post dvd/cd player > uninstall the device

Restart the laptop and OS will reinstall the driver and the DVD/CD drive should start working again (well this is what has happened to me)

  • Pavilion dv6-2010sa Notebook: RAM upgrade

My HP Pavilion dv6 is really slow (especially when you use the internet with more than a couple of tabs open. I did a full audit of viruses, spyware, etc. - all clean. However, when I checked the system I have only 3 GB of RAM (2.75 usable).

Increase the RAM would make a significant difference and if so what is the maximum I should buy (which would be effective)? It would also be very helpful if you can give advice if I should run extra RAM with what I already have or if I have to replace it. Finally, if you could tell me the name of the RAM should I buy and where can I buy it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ben

It will run up to 8 GB of RAM. This is the laptop DDR2-800 memory. This video shows the replacement of hard disk and memory so just pay attention to memory:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=koynICXjbzI

DDR2 is very expensive. Here's the manual for your dv6:

    Manual

Here is the Kingston showing page guaranteed compatible RAM:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/Pavilion-DV6-2010sa

As you can see, 8 GB is well over $200. Personally, because I'm cheap, I would buy a single module of 2 gig and increase the total RAM of 4 GB or, to be sure it works with maximum efficiency, buy a 4 GB kit if you have 2 identical bars. A 4 GB kit is 'only' $ 56, and it is a reasonable investment. 4 concerts will be significantly better than 3. You might also think of a reinstallation of the operating system. Computers a naturally slow down with age that the registry fills up with junk. There are a few settings, you can clean up the start menu and other things less an OS reinstall.

    Hello:

    Yes you can.

Here are the instructions and you should be all set.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    @SorryHPbuyer

I don't know what model said you it not available for, but HP still stocks recovery disc for many machines to Vista (not all), most Windows 7 and of course Windows 8 machines.

I guess you have a XP or Vista early model? In this scenario, you should be able to get here:

Now, I want to return to the factory settings.

A link please, so that I can get for it.

    THX A LOT

    Hello

Unfortunately, HP is a download option to do this, but you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - cost can vary a little where in the world you live, but they are generally inexpensive.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, see if you can order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 3122TX recovery deleted partition, need to install windows

    Hello

I have a Pavilion DV6 3122TX laptop. System would block extensively when I ever access any file, was not a virus or whatever it is, I discovered it was the HD due to the error at startup screen "error of hard disk, hard drive 1 (3F1)", I ran all the auto controls and diagnostics but nothing improved. So I formatted the disc completely deleted all partitions even recoveries and other (my bad).

My recovery disc can not be read by the laptop DVDRom Red flashes for a few seconds and then nothing happens, "said no system disk. Replace the disk and then pres any key blah blah blah... "The drive is fine I checked. I changed the boot options to boot from a CD/DVD internal.

I need as soon as possible a working windows as a temporary solution. I can't install Windows 7, it seems because of some lock (turns on it was unable to detect the HARD drive). Windows XP cannot see the player because of the requirement of AHCI driver (cannot switch back to IDE) due to the lock of the BIOS. Then I tried the method of slipstream AHCI driver, now, here's my problem I just can't find the AHCI drivers for my laptop since I can not connect to Win to check with CPUz. Can someone direct me to text-mode drivers for this laptop at the wake in winxp x 86 using NliteOS. I'll take the laptop to be fixed at a service center next month, but now I need a solution. Even if you can fix my recovery solution, it would be great.

I can access the hard disk using Linux. So the HARD drive is ok, please do not refer me to change the HARD drive that is not an option right now. (HARD drive was the problem)

    Sorry for this long post
    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

Hard drive error, hard drive 1 (3F1) is the disk failure hard try loading in the Bios pass Diagnostics, perform the test, if it fails, you will need to replace the drive. In case your hard drive is not detected in the Bios, you must reinstall the part of the rear panel.

  • Pavilion dv6-1149wm recovery

Please send me a recovery. my recovery has been remove. I lost him. I can find her in my restore point more.

OS name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

    System manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
System model HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Type of system PC x 64

    Version of the BIOS/Date Hewlett-Packard F.21, 13/09/2011

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the HP recovery discs using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

Also, if possible, back up the folder swsetup which lie at the root of the C drive.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

Regarding the drivers etc, you must, if you were able to save the swsetup this will contain all the software installers and drivers for your laptop - if you were not able, drivers and software, you may need can be found here.

    Hello

Here's another solution, that you could use.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - IE Windows 7 Home Premium ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Images of Windows 7.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6117dx 'recovery has failed' HELP as soon as POSSIBLE

So, I try on my HP Pavilion dv6-6117dx with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit, to use my recovery disks to recover to factory State. I do everything he says he too. But after that the extra disk is ejected and goes to the HP screen installation of Applications or something, it's like a green screen with 2 bars and when it is done it just pops up with an error saying 'Failed to retrieve' it gives me three options "Save Log, details, or try again.» I did all the steps. Retryed about 7 times but every time the same thing pops up. I need to know how to solve this problem in 16/03/13.

    Hello:

I can't help you with the dilemma of recovery disc because sometimes they do not work and there is nothing you can do about it, unfortunately.

If you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of Windows 7 on the bottom of your PC, do your own regular W7 installation media, so you can at least install W7 and get your notebook back operational.

    Here's how...

  • HP Pavilion DV6-2010SA

    Hello

I have a HP Pavillion DV6-2010SA, who has the power, but no JOB. The caps lock and num lock seem to be flashes two times, which, I think that suggests failure of the CPU.

The owner (a parent) tells me that it worked hot for quite a while and I have blown away a significant amount of dust from the ducts and fans.

I would like confirmation that a replacement CPU would be a good point of departure these diags-based as I found one available for 20 quid on eBay.

The owner is happy to spend a quid is trying to solve this problem, but prefer to replace Notepad rather than a new motherboard or other expensive components.

    Hey coachphil,.

Yes, these codes are universal for all the portable conumser released after 2008 (of which yours is).

That would be a good starting point, Yes. Remove the CMOS battery and the battery from the system, as well as unplugging the power adapter. Let alone like that for a minute or two (to make sure that all power dissipates), then put everything back to normal and see what happens.

If it still does not work, you can then contact HP support for a replacement of the system board.
