HP Pavilion dv6-2120tx: HP Pavilion dv6-2120tx RAM and SSD UPGRADE
HI guys,.
I want to improve my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB or 16 and my 500 GB HDD 120 GB SSD.
The problem is that I'm not sure what RAM and SSD is compatible.
My current features are:
CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
Intel Core i5 430M at 2.27 GHz
Technology of 32nm Arrandale
RAM
4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard
Hewlett-Packard 3659 (CPU)
Graphics
Monitor generic PnP (1366x768@60Hz)
1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M (HP)
Storage
465 GB Hitachi HTS725050A9A364 (SATA)
1 GB JMCR SD/MMC SCSI Disk Device (NULL)
I think about Corsair 8 GB DDR3 - 1333 MHz (CMSO8GX3M1A1333C9) for ram,
and Adata first Pro sp310 128 GB SSD.
They will be compatible with my laptop? If not, what are those who do you suggest?
Thanks in advance.
Any help is very appreciated!
It will take 8 gigs. It is aka PC3-8500 SO-DIMM DDR3-1066 and is the part specified in the Manual:
The modules, PC3 memory, 1066 MHz FSB 4096 MB 579156-001 ■
The memory you chose will likely work, but sometimes the fastest memory will not downclock and laptop computers HP certainly prefer low density memory, 8 blocks on each side not 4.
The SSD that you selected will be OK, but I encourage you to spring for at least a 240 GB model. 128 GB is a bit of containment in the current environment and SSD prices are low, as is the memory. Never been a better time to upgrade. I just took a 240 on eBay, major brands, for $56 shipped.

Hello Sir/Madam,
I want to upgrade RAM and HDD (SSD) in my computer laptop HP Pavilion 15-p045TX, please answer my money issues:
I have a 64 Bit Windows 10 installed on my laptop.
Associated with RAM-
(1) I have 2 RAM slots, 1 is used with ADATA 8 GB of RAM, which is the maximum limit of RAM that I can use in my second slot (8/16)?
(2) is it expandable to Rams 2 * 16 GB (32 GB total)?
(3) can I use any brand DDR3 8 GB / 16 GB of RAM?
(4) there must be 1600 MHz? Or 1333 Mhz will also work? What is the best?
Associated with SSD-
(1) is there a limit on the size of the SSD memory support? 1 taken to support?
(2) can I use any brand SSD? Transcend SSD 370 s 250 GB and Samsung 850 EVO 250GB OK?
Linux 64-Bit installation will make a difference on Performance or questions above?

Thank you
Sandeep
Here is the Service Manual:
See page 3 of the memory card. It is said 12 GB is the maximum, but we know from experience, you can install 2 x 8 GB in total 16 concerts. No 32 GB. It must be low voltage, and if you already have a single module of 8 GB you want to duplicate its specifications. If it has 8 black blocks on the side, you need to get a module like this.
It is not easy to work on this system. You must remove the top cover to get to the hard drive Bay and remove the motherboard to add RAM. See p. 105 and 116.
Module of memory of 8 GB 693374-005
There's a 16 gig module listed, but it is for AMD laptops with a single location and will not work on your motherboard, even if you could find it.
You can install a type SATA 2.5-inch 1 TB SSD. There is no definitive list brands supported. People sometimes have problems with some specific SSD as some determinative seem to cause problems, but the Evo to Samsung 850 is a good choice with a record few if any questions.
The computer does not know if she is running only Windows or Linux and the RAM or the SSD works with Linux or Windows, or in dual boot. The Linux kernels current used in the current distributions like Ubuntu 16.04 SSD handle very well with a maximum return.

HP Pavilion 15-e091eo Ram and ssd upgrade.
Hello!
My computer is HP Pavilion e091eo 15 and I expected to make it even faster.
I found these two products on amazon and I was wondering if they are not suitable for my computer.
RAM: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQ35GYE
SSD: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A1ZTZOG
I didn't something to this computer before, so it has all parts of the plant.
You need the manual here:
See pages 49 and 53 for teaching
Aries is the right type and speed, and you should have a slot open, so you could add this module and have a total of 8 GB.
The 120 gig SSD is a bit small for modern computing. This will work, but you'll have a hard time getting on her recovery disks or transfer your programs and data. Probably you already use more than 120 concerts on the existing hard drive.
I recommend at least a 240 GB SSD.

Hello
You can find the manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05147552
For the SSD: Any disk 2.5-inch should work for you.
For RAM: the laptop has a single location, if you want to find an 8GB stick (DDR4 2133 GHz) SODIMM.

Pavilion g6 - 2217cl: the HP Pavilion g6 - 2217cl RAM and CPU/GPU upgrade
Hey there, I am looking to upgrade the RAM and CPU/GPU on my G6 Pavilion. Here's my current characteristics;
Laptop model: HP Pavilion G6 - 2217cl
Operating system: Windows 10 family (x 64)
Current RAM: 6 GB (used 2 slots)
CPU/GPU: AMD A8 - 4500 APU with Radeon HD graphics card
What are the possibilities should I upgrade?
If more information is needed, I'll be happy to provide.
It supports up to 8 GB of memory and the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Here is the Manual:
There is no video card to upgrade, but for the models of series AMD A video is contained in the processor itself and an upgrade of the processor also carries with it an upgrade for HD 7640 G HD 7660 G video. It's light but a bit noticeable and clock speed go from 2.8 ghz to 3.2 ghz, which is not huge but noticeable. Memory is a DDR3-1600 module, and you can replace your 2 gig with a 4 gig to spend 6 to 8.
Memory upgrade is as easy as... CPU/APU don't upgrade not so much.

Pavilion DV6-3030SD: Pavilion DV6-3030SD processor and HD upgrade
Hello, I would like to know if I can pass for example the processor of my Pavilion DV6-3030SD with intel i3 M350 2, 27GHz and 2 hearts with every 4 GB of RAM (8GB total). Win10 64-bit is installed and works perfectly.
I don't understand that a change in video (AMD Radeon HD5400) card is not possible. And change the motherboard isn't an option too.
People advised me to change the HD 500 GB SSD to make it faster. Most SSDS are much smaller then my HD. Is it a problem that the quantity of SSD does not have HD? And is there something to check when you change the SSD (specific to my Pavilion)?
Thanks in advance!
Replace the CPU by the one who has the exact specifications of the Core i7 in the manual is very well. You'll get a noticeable performance gain with the Core i7 CPU. Hyperthreading with hearts more is a good thing.
Upgrading to an SSD will also turn your laptop into a beast.

Pavilion 550-279na: GPU and PSU upgrade for Pavilion 550-279
Hello
I have a HP Pavilion 550-279na. While it fits most of my needs, I enjoy the occasional game and found that the GPU that is it came with, the Radeon R5 330 does not offer enough "oomph".
http://support.HP.com/GB-en/document/c04949172
I had a quick glance and think that the Nvidia GTX 750ti would probably answer my needs.
Don't you think that this card would fit in my PC?
Also, I guess 180W POWER supply that it came with is not sufficient to run a faster GPU, you have any recommendations on the size or model that would suit the Pavilion.
My apologies if these are very secular issues, my knowledge of material isn't at the height!
Thanks for any help.
Charlie
Greetings,
Your PC has the correct UEFI BIOS.
The GTX 750Ti requires a minimum 300 Watt power supply.
You must measure the space available along the existing graphics card and compare it to the length of the backup. The 750 is 5.7 inches long. The 750 is a dual slot card. Make sure you have room and you can check out a second plate of Panel rear I/O to install the card.
It must fit unless it's really tight in your chassis with the existing card.
Same problem with the power supply. Verify that you can install a power supply 350 Watt or 400 watts.
I prefer modular Corsair or Seasonic power switching.
Make sure that you disable secure boot and enable the legacy boot in the BIOS.
Also to uninstall all of the AMD graphics drivers and software before you install the card GTX 750.
See you soon!

Pavilion dv - 6 3138eo with SSD upgrade
Hello
I plan to upgrade my dv-6 3138 (AMD) with a SSD EVO Basic 840-Series 500 GB Samsung. The laptop will support this SSD?
/ Tommie
Yes,
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02435719
The Samsung 840 EVO can be used, simply replace HARD drive with it, it might be more slim (7mm) that the HDD (9.5 mm) but you can easily screw it on the hard drive carrier after its withdrawal from the HARD drive. If it frees up space, use the spacer that come with Samsung SSD kit.
Migration/clone the entire HARD disk (hp recovery partition exclude) for the SSD prior to alternatives to using the Samsung data migration tool that comes with it or download it from the Samsung website.

I don't want to pay to win 8 when sound already install on my orig disk when I bought computer.
want to put in a ssd drive and go win 8 more reader original can get?
You can do this easily with the migration software that has perhaps the manufacturer of your SSD.
Or the migration using Paragon Backup and Recovery Free:
http://www.Paragon-Software.com/home/BR-free/
Or the cloning of the HDD SSD with EaseUS Todo Backup free
http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm
This will automate most of the process for you.
These 3 tutorials can help you too, well written for Windows 7, they apply also to Windows 8:

HP Pavilion 15 laptop: HARD drive SSD update for HP Pavilion 15 laptop
Hey there!
I own a HP pavilion 15 notebook PC, [model number: F6C42PA #ACJ]. Currently, it is equipped with a 1 TB SATA HARD drive. I was going to upgrade to SSD. Kindly guide me through the steps and the compatible products. Also is there a simple way to just walk into an authorized service center of thm Center and ask to do the upgrade?
Thank you
Here is the Service Manual:
See page 59.
Not your model exactly but very close and videos may be more useful.
Any form factor of 2.5 in SATA SSD will work and I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.
There is a link for all sizes available on the page. I recommend that at least a 256 and 500 are quite affordable nowadays.
Where do you live? Country only, please. I heard that HP Service centers will perform memory and SSD upgrades on these 'closed' systems but I don't know where all of them or what they would charge. You should be able to find a competent local computer shop to do. It does not put security at risk, but the warranty is not revoked if the work is done properly, without damage to the laptop.

Pavilion dv6 3050ej: my Pavilion dv6 3050ej laptop support SSD?
Hello
My Pavilion dv6 3050ej laptop support SSD?
If so, should I pay attention to something special when choosing my SSD drive model?
Hello
Yes. Samsung 850 Evo SSD is currently available in the market good.
http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-DV6-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/4150017/model/4212919/document/c02435719/
You can either clone (using the Samsung migration tool or tools 3rd part), factory reset (with the support of HP recovery) or pure install (if you have the disc to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, and you can clearly and legibly read all 25 characters of the activation key of the product to the rear of your laptop).
Move all your personal data on the external HARD disc before the cloning.

Pavilion dv6-1255-EA: upgrading ram and HDD to ssd
Hello, my laptop (pavilion dv6 1255-EA portable entertainment I bought 6 years with core 2 due processor, 4 GB ram, 500 GB HDD and AMD catalyst HD 1 GB graphics card) is running a bit slow so I however get a new ssd and / or more than ram would make it faster, I currently have 4 GB of ram and 500 GB hard drive installed in my laptop and I was woundering what are those that I can? Are crucial bullsticks 8 GB of ram and 7 with 9 in ssd adapter compatible? I need an answer as soon as possible because I saw some discounts on these on amazon so that I won't have to wait for black Friday to get them again. And it would also be good if someone also indicates what screwdriver I use.
Hey @Ajijawi,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!
I came across your post on the HP Pavilion dv6 - 1255ee Entertainment Notebook and eager to replace the hard drive of 9.5 mm or increase the RAM. Even if it could adapt to the Notebook ok. Queues screws could be different. Here is a link to your service manual page 69 for the hard card. I would really check this before buying new HARD drive. You may need to change so it does not move. The 500 GB SATA 6 GB/s SSD internal SSD 2.5 "would work for this model of laptop including that you have an AMD System. This laptop supports up to 8 GB memory system DDR2, 800 MHz, PC2-6400, page 1-DIMM 32 of the manual above.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Pavilion dv6 6165tx: ram upgrade
Hello
I have pavilion dv6 6165tx laptop with 4 GB ram and I want to bring to 8 GB. I want to ask that buy no matter what brand of ram (Kingston, G skill, etc.) from any site like Amazon, eBay etc. Please answer ASAPThe only safe way to buy RAM is to buy only guaranteed compatible memory from a memory important manufacturer.
Otherwise, you take the very real chance of having no a start-up scenario when you place the memory in.
Do a Google search with the upgrade memory pavilion dv6 6165tx as keywords. Add the brand name of manufacturer of memory.
Once you know which modules are guaranteed to work in your notebook by the memory manufacturer, you can look at your leaisure from a seller who has them at the best price point.

Pavilion dv6 - 6165TX: RAM upgradation
I have a hp pavilion dv6 6165tx laptop and I want to upgrade the RAM, but I don't have information about its maximum capacity.
Factory-installed: Samsung ddr3 4096 MB (667 MHZ) * slot1
* slot2 is empty and therefore I intend to install or another module of the same capacity
OR so stretch - then I installed two new modules of 8 GB. NEED SUGGESTIONS.
Specification of the motherboard:
HP 3388; 10.31
Intel Sandybridge chipset.
Hello! Here's how it goes
Is Max memory for your system
2 8GB, DDR3 10600 1333 MHz memory Modules
Part number: 634091-001
And you can buy these parts to the HP parts store and you need 2 for 2 x 8 = 16 GB
And you can also buy RAM for your system on Amazon for a lot less of a price
And comes as a Kit for 16 GB memory total 2x8GB
Good luck!
