Slimline s5-1414: Dual Monitors-What adapter to buy

I am trying to add a second monitor to generic lcd (NEC) to this pc.  I am already using the adapter supplied with the computer in VGA. I always have a DVI port available. Looking at the cards I have no idea as to what adapter I need to buy to connect to my PC.  Can someone tell me what to buy or if you can not do? Thank you much in advance.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1414 connection LCD monitor & projector problem

I bought a HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1414 with Windows 8, for my church, which came standard with 2 DVI ports. I attach a LCD monitor to 1 Port and a projector to another. Start the computer and both screens remained blank. I disconnect me the projector, restart the computer and the monitor running normally. I then connect the projector in the other port and it works as expected. However, when I restart the poster blank rest until I have do as above. I also reset the BIOS to the default settings, and both screen and projector came fine. Yet once, when I restarted, same problem. I manually set the resolution for both devices. Problem remains - every time that I reboot, displays may not run until I disconnect the projector, reboot, and after successful reboot, reconnect the projector. Any suggestions?

Thank you for running these tests and getting back to me. I think that it is prudent to exclude at this stage of material. I have two options for you to try.

I would like you to reinstall the graphics driver.

Press the Windows key + Q to bring up the search

    Type 'unit'

    Click on Device Manager

    Expand graphics cards

    Double-click Intel

Click the driver tab and click the uninstall

    Restart the computer

Windows will automatically detect the missing driver and reinstall it on reboot. Once you are in the start screen of Windows, shutdown, connect two screens (a screen and a projector or two monitors, anyway) the computer turn on and I would like to know what the results are.

I would also try both screens set before to turn on/off mode safe. You may need to press and hold the ESC key lighting to get the option come up, instead of SHIFT F8 as set out in section. Take a look at this article to get the procedure start mode safe. Let me know what you find

  • Graphics card dual monitor will fit in an HP Pavilion Slimline s3600z

I need to run two monitors to my HP Pavilion Slimline s3600z.

My OS is Windows Vista 64 bit.

I'm not a gamer; I teach in virtual classes and need to spread out the screen on two monitors.

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GE.

The card offers the ability to set multiple views, so I bought a splitter.

Unfortunately, this does solve the problem.

I bought a low profile with two connections graphics card, but it was too big for the case.

Is there a card dual monitor low profile that fits the business slimline?

Here are the specifications of your HP CTO Slimline s3600z desktop. According to specifications, your computer has a power of 160 watts. This power supply is unlikely to fuel a retail graphics card. The simplest method to use two screens with your computer is probably a adapter USB-to-video EVGA + 19.

  • Dual monitor on HP Pavilion p6610f

I would use two monitors on my HP Pavilion p6610f desktop computer.  I have two lcd monitors.   I buy a vga adapter digital and connected a monitor to the VGA in the back of the computer and plugged the adapter connected to the other lcd screen in the digital output on the back of the computer. The monitor connected to the digital output signals no signal.

Can I use a Setup dual monitor on a pavilion p6610f using video output that is on the motherboard, or do I need an additional video card?

  • The dual monitor settings not remembered

I just added a second monitor (same size and resolution as the first monitor). After using "personalize > display settings", activating the second monitor in the mode double screen, monitor the position and resolution, then selecting "apply > Save Settings > OK" the new monitor will work fine. However, when I restart the PC, Windows knows more on the second monitor and I have to redo all the settings more. It's ALWAYS happening (and not sporadically). I've never had this happen before in configurations dual monitor. I don't do something correctly?

I'm under Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, 2-24 "1920 x 1280 Digital monitors, graphic adapter advanced ATI HD 4850 with dual output DVI, 8 GB of memory.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Jon,
Download ATI Catalyst Control Center, which includes the updated drivers for your card, of the following:
    http://game.AMD.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=Vista64/common-Vista64

After installing the software and restarted, you can access their software by clicking on start-> all programs-> Catalyst Control Center, click on CCC
Then adjust your settings of dual monitor since the display under chart type Manager, here you can set the desktop, the refresh rate resolution and you want 1 of a possible 5 modes (press F1 to get help with their applicaton) display. Make sure that save you after having selected the desired configuration. • Connection to a TV with HDMI output with a Dual-Link DVI adapter

I have two monitors connected to my MacPro late 2013, an HDMI port and the other on the Minidisplay port (with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter). Then I have a third monitor used for dubbing tracks, (22 in.) connected to an another mini display port with a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI. Now, I don't want to connect to the Dual-Link DVI adapter a led TV 40 "in replacement of the monitor 22 '', so that I can make the tracks of dubbing in a better way. But the led TV has a HDMI port. The question is: can I connect the TV led to the Dual-Link DVI adapter, simply using an adapter DVI to HDMI? It work?

Not used that exact configuration but should work.

  • E-mail and calendar will not connect on a dual monitor system.

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012) running on Yosemite 10.10.5.  I currently have a system of dual monitor hooked up with an Acer monitor (version: AL1916W Abd ~ Jan. 2008).  When I use this monitor as Desktop 2 and move my apps to email and calendar to this office, I suddenly find that mail will not receive any new messages very well and the calendar will often lose the connection and does not update to mobile.  I thought maybe of interference on the WiFi, but Google Chrome runs on the desktop at the same speed as on my laptop.  Perhaps it is still a form of interference, but I don't know what is the cause or how to fix it.  Perhaps the monitor is too old and now is not compatible with my operating system?  The monitor is connected with a VGA XAVIER to converter Thunderbolt and a VGA cable normal VGA.

The internet I use is the internet at the University where I work, so reset the router or something like that is not an option.  Help?

  • Do I need a dedicated video card to run a Setup dual monitor with HP 700-327c?

Recently replaced an old HP Desktop with the envy of 700 running Windows 7 Professional.

Old facility had a Setup to dual monitor with a video card that had two monitors - one HDMI and a DVI connectors.  The standard connectors on the old PC were VGA and DVI, but both have been capped to prevent use.

I wanted to set up monitors on this new PC to do the same thing and wanted to know if a video card with the two input connectors dedicated was the best set-up or simply use a mute adapter for VGA or DVI on the new PC ports.  The new PC has two video connectors standard - one VGA and one DVI currently.

FYI: Using an Intel i7-4770 with 16 GB of RAM and a video card using an Intel HD Graphics 4600.

An update as promised - not a problem - used another cord with the right connector and setting up monitors using Windows device settings and they work perfectly.  No need for a separate or higher video card as I am not in the game application for video features.  Thanks BH.

  • HP G42-415DX: in a Setup dual monitor, perhaps armored secondary monitor white screen?

I have a Setup dual monitor, where the laptop is tied to a 2nd monitor (TV) via HDMI. I mainly use the 2nd monitor. Can I empty the 1st monitor (laptop screen) screen, yet still use the 2nd monitor with lid open to access the keyboard?

(I noticed with parameters changed in the Panel of Win7, I can close the lid without cutting [sleep, Hibernate or shutdown] computer and had to lower the monitor display 2nd to adapt to the screen.) But to use the keyboard, open the lid of the portable computer, which involved the 1st screen)

    Thank you

    Hi Kalad,

I think the same as you do sometimes, especially when I watch a movie and you want that it will display on the bigger screen and the simultaneouly have the laptop screen is off.

As you need to use the keyboard of the laptop and want the second poster only, which suggests to select the "Projector" only option in the pop-up menu by pressing the Fn + F4 key.

& to come back again having two screens or single screen press Fn Key & F4 on your keyboard and select "Extend" or 'Unplug the projector' options respectively.

  • Problems with dual monitor: VGA is out only work

I have a dual monitor card galaxy geforce gf430 who worked on Sunday night before putting the computer to sleep. When I came back Wednesday on the side of the hdmi/vga/dvi vga worked the only possible output. After having checked all the settings and the cables and update of my computer, I had more than one screen. I went out and bought an asus hd 6450 and installed in the hope that I would have my screen. no luck I checked all the settings again and nothing. I ran the program provided with the card and so far nothing. It is not even read a different location for the screen. can someone please?

I took the liberty to do a little research on the ASUS HD 6450 map.  Are - what you got to get the ASUS HD6450 silent and low GPU or the bigger one with the fan?  It might be possible that those silent will not support Eyefinity technology since it was modeled for the home theater PC use.

I noticed that the model with the fan on the radiator mentions he is compatible Eyefinity, while the silent model does not work, but it allows you to choose between a VGA, DVI or HDMI port, but do not use them simultaneously.

  • Dual monitor installed on Inspiron 3487

I'm reposting this question here posted with no luck in the Dell Forum of bureau-video community. BTW, my OS is Windows 8.1 64bits.

I just bought a Dell Inspiron desktop i3847-5386BK and I am trying to achieve a Setup dual monitor with 2 monitors 24 "widescreen LED Dell E2414Hr.

The specifications for the detailed but photos also Office of front, back and inside the computer are here:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16883156238

Basically, the Office has 1 VGA port, 1 HDMI port and multi-port USB 2.0/3.0

Specifications for the monitor, but also detailed photos are here:

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/420579/e2414hr_24_widescreen_led_monitor

Basically, the monitor has 1 VGA and 1 DVI - D port

The first monitor is already connected from the port VGA monitors to the VGA port of the desktop computer via the VGA cable supplied with the monitor.

My question is about the best way to connect the second monitor. One option is to get a HDMI cable at one end (office) and DVI - D at the other end (monitor). The computer will be able to manage this dual output and adjust automatically to both monitors or it will require some changes of setting? The computer lacks a dedicated to my knowledge graphics card and my main goal is to use these monitors independently with occasional extended desktop display.

Also, are there better options for the office monitor the connection in this case as a (office) HDMI to VGA (monitor)? I saw online that the HDMI cables at one end and VGA on the other end could be a scam because it is not possible to convert a digital signal to analog without converter, but also there are people who say this type of cable works fine. Are there better options to connect the second monitor using the USB ports on the computer? Given that one of my monitors is already connected via a VGA cable VGA will be the second different monitor everything in terms of brightness, readability etc if it has a DVI - D instead of VGA input? Finally, what would be a place to get the converter/cable recommended discount?

Sorry for the post of multiple question since a long time, but any help on this would be much appreciated and will help other institutions. Thank you in advance!

Computer output VGA--> VGA cable VGA--> #1 E2414Hr VGA in
Output HDMI--> HDMI to DVI cable to computer--> 2 # E2414Hr DVI in

Once connected, open the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel and configure the second monitor.

  • Installation of the driver software window opens on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

The "Software Installation" window will open on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

I have a dual display setup. A 225WS 1680 x 1050 monitor LG is connected via a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI converter to a DVI port on a Radeon 6850 video card. The second screen is a Samsung HDTV set at 1920 x 1080 and connected via HDMI on the same video card. I have set up the screen LCD as main monitor and the Samsung HDTV as the extended display. HDTV is most of the time, but I use it at least once a day. This isn't a driver problem, because it happened also when I had an old Nvidia video card and it is fixed by a new installation of windows and setting up of screens from a square.

The installer works great almost all the time except when I try to use some programs or Windows functions (7). When I try to start the MozBackup application or I pop in a new usb device and click on the notification bubble, both these windows (MozBackup and the "Driver software Installation" window) open in the center of the HDTV as opposed to the LCD (which is defined as primary). The problem is that the views are ~ 3 meters out and HDTV is mostly off.

I sent a bug report to the developer of MozBackup because this part is perhaps a problem with its software or what old Windows functions and hooks it uses, but the window "Installing the driver software" (or who knows what other program Windows Basic) has exactly the same problem and is part of Windows.

What can I do about it? I DIDN'T put the displays in any mode "clone" to have office in mirror between them. Is - this fixable somehow? I guess that is not a problem with the video card drivers because I used two different video cards with either the manufacturer or windows update drivers and the problem is the same.

I'm talking about a window similar to this one

    Try changing the backup.ini

    you find it in

    .. \Program files (x86)\MozBackup\backup.ini

Open the file backup.ini with editor

Check if you have the rights to save the changed files in this directory. You may need to change the Directory rights

Change the value of "1": monitor

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =1

'2' or whatever the value of your primary monitor is:

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =2

System main screen could be identified as '1 '. If you have changed the monitors, it can be used internally '2 '.

  • Dual monitor dilemma: dvi - d, out of reach

I have been running this Setup dual monitor since late December and have had no problems so far. But before I did my primary secondary monitor and tried to run 'Civilization beyond Earth' (which I've cranked up for the highest possible settings) on it and was greeted with "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz" on a black screen. So I restarted my computer, which only complicated the issue because my LG (which again, read "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz") was my main monitor, and so I couldn't connect. It's been fixed only when I unplugged my other monitors the dvi cable, and my login screen appears.  I can run the other monitor as my primary, but only if the LG is unplugged, and as soon as I plug my LG it becomes main monitor and displays new "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz", which means that I can't do my other monitor primary so that the two are connected.

My questions are: You have an idea, what is the problem? Or how to fix it? I can't stop the LG to the monitor main spot? Why is it read "dvi - d out of reach of the 67.5 khz/60 Hz" when the two are connected?

    Hey Joe,

Thanks for posting your concern on the Microsoft community.

With the description you've provided, looks like there could be some problems with the resolution of the video card.

I suggest you increase the refresh rate of the video card and check if that helps. You can follow the steps described in the following article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate#1TC=Windows-7

Note: If you notice flicker on a CRT monitor, you may need to change your screen resolution before changing the refresh rate. The resolution is high, the higher your refresh rate should be, but not every screen resolution is compatible with every refresh rate.

    For more information, see

    Change your screen resolution:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-your-screen-resolution

Changes to the refresh rate affect all users who log on the computer.
