HP Pavilion DV6 mute of touch panel remains orange

For some time now, the 'secret' button on my computer laptop dv6-2155dx rest orange all the time - if the sound is turned on or off. How can I fix it? It works when you press it, the color simply never changes...

Hello

Try the following - this implies that you are under Windows 7.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48668.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45501-46000/sp45629.exe

Once the relocation of Chipset is complete, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.

When this has completed, restart the computer again before checking if the button on the capacitive strip now changes color correctly.

Kind regards

DP - K

    Hello

Mute key functionality is provided by IDT Audio software, so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I would try downloading and installing the following driver IDT.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48830.exe

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  • MUTE button on Pavilion dv6 stuck on Red

Mute my button on my laptop Pavilion dv6 is stuck.

IM in the United Kingdom... If it makes a difference I don't know...

    Help, please!

You need to reinstall your sound driver. The p/n is not enough information so that I can not point stem which dv6 you have. You must give us something like this dv6 - _ _ _ _ and then it will be followed by two letters representing your country.

Here is a link where it can be listed.

    http://h20180.www2.HP.com/apps/lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=DV6+Pavillion+N+R493EA%23ABU&submit=go+%BB

Tick the box to the wide support and drivers and enter your model number, as described and it should bring up the information for your specific laptop.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/UK/en/support.html

I want to save the file, I need desktop page, then unpack it from there. If your laptop shows you that the file already exists ' click on ' the box that says "Yes to all", let it install and reboot your machine.

Be sure to choose your appropriate operating system. Update the Audio driver should solve your problem. I guess they call it your "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Driver.

  • Pavilion dv6-1140ew: 1140ew button Mute and the wireless button disappeared

My Mute button and the wireless button disappeared. They are neither orange nor blue, they are not highlighted.

I did my Lalonde normal and regular cleaning. With the help of the manual I disasembled the phone until I could access the fan/heatsink and clean it with air preasured. After reassembling the laptop, I discovered that the two buttons are not appearing on the cover of the switch. I thought that I must have failed to plug something properly, but after checking twice, I am sure that everything is as it should be. The wireless card works perfectly, so are the speakers. The computer turns on automatically (I'm actually hit him), wifi works perfectly (well, I'm on it) scrolling volume works ok, so media buttons. But everything I try, I cannot get the Mute and buttons wireless to work once more.

  • XJ437PA #ACJ: Pavilion DV6 - Audio does not

    Hello

The audio has stopped working in my laptop since these days. It started with the audio does not not intermittently, but he has completely stopped working. I shared my PC specs below:

Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
    Product number: XJ437PA #ACJ

    Processor name: Intel (r) Core i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40 GHz (2 400 MHz)

I went through this forum and tried a few things:

    (1) to reinstall the codec IDT high definition

    (2) using the file available in the Recovery Manager

    (3) using the MicrosoftFixit

But the problem is not yet solved.

Can you please provide some suggestions?

    Thank you

    David

    Hi David,

I would suggest you try a slight variation on the first two methods.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp47001-47500/sp47393.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click on the Audio display Intel entry and select uninstall - this time check the confirmation box to remove the driver and continue the uninstall.

Then, right-click on the IDT device and select uninstall - for this entry, also check the box confirmation to remove the driver and uninstalling.

    Once completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation. Once done, restart the laptop.

    Any improvement?

    Best regards

  • Backlight not working after bumping - HP Pavilion dv6

    Hello

Pavilion dv6-6c35d laptop was working fine until I have dropped my phone to short on the bottom left of the trackpad Control Panel. The second, the phone hit, backlight is out and has not returned since.

Does anyone have an idea on How to solve this problem?

I would prefer not to have to take it to a repair shop

    Thank you!

If you still have a weak image not the screen inverter. The inverters are cheap or at least relatively. This is one of those cases where I would need to get their hands on the machine and we cannot do that, but I think that if take you it to a local store, they can open and see if the connection of the inverter just detach from the impact.

  • How to understand computer HP pavilion dv6 laptop I use

How to understand computer HP pavilion dv6 laptop I use?

After that, I would like to understand how to upgrade this computer up.

the screen is 17.1 could I use screen multi touch?

    It's intel i5

    Windows 7

I bought it with the radeon graphics card, but after changing graphics card intel HD 3000 what better map graphics radeon or intel I can insert on laptop?

can I put ram at 8.00 4.00 GB or 16,00 Go?

DV6-6c51er is the common model number.

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

It can handle up to 16 GB memory DDR3-1333 (2 x 8 GB modules).

No way to add a touchscreen. I don't know how you changed Intel Radeon graphics card, unless you have installed a different motherboard. The original motherboard has two graphics chips, so if you install the right driver you can access the AMD Radeon HD M 7470.

The processor could theoretically be upgraded to an i7, but these improvements are rarely economically justified because of the high cost of processors unique and time required for doing the upgrade. Somehow, I think less than 10% of the improvements that we are discussing on this Forum actually. You simpler and better (more efficient) upgrade is to install an SSD. You will think that you have an i7 and 16 GB of RAM.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

  • HP PAVILION DV6-6B80EO

I have a HP PAVILION DV6-6B80EO and you want to get an SSD instead of hard drive preinstalled. What type of SSD is suitable and is there any kind of limits what size I can use?

    Recommendations are much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

There is no harm in choosing 2 SATA or SATA 3. A SATA 2 drive will work in a port SATA 3 and a SATA 3 drive will work in a SATA 2 port (although at speeds of SATA 2).

Maintenance and service guide can be found on the link below. I can remember it, but I don't see any mention of what specifications the SATA ports are in this unit. It may be better to remove the HARD drive Panel and check the SATA HARD drive specification.

  • Pavilion DV6 monitor via HDMI, Windows 7

My Pavilion DV6 no longer shows the sign to display on the external monitor at the beginning upward. I found that if I open Notepad to display the sign on screen and then close it without signature on it then transfers the sign on screen to screen and everything works OK.  It only started doing this recently.

I solved my problem, I have restored my adapter on a 2009 version driver.  The 2010 version has caused a problem in trying to open the NVIDIA Control Panel. It came with a drivor error.
