  Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Due to a new job, I need to update my processor of the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specifications below, please) of at least 3.0 GHz.

  Is there a processor 3.0 GHz there that is compatible with this particular computer? I called tech support and they told me they don't know. I don't know who else to ask.

  This computer was purchased just a few months ago (before I got the new job). I really don't buy a new computer, if possible, if I can upgrade the processor in it.

  Well, it seems that one (that I found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel made for my chipset (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the Extreme edition i7-3940XM (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)

  Priced at $1,000 +, it looks like I'll be shopping for a new computer.

  Don't know if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I won't buy another HP product.

  This machine had problems outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lack in all areas even pull your techscannot model with the serial number.

  I have a HP Pavilion p6520y Desktop PC model #: WW636AA with a FOXCONN 2 92 motherboard, AMD 785 G Chipset. I'm currently upgrading my ram of the current 6gbs maximally whatever my computer supports. My motherboard says it supports up to 16gbs (since I am running Windows 7 64 - bit), and I'm trying to figure out what I should update.  I scanned my pc on Crucial and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, but I still don't know what I should buy.

  Is it smart to upgrade to the maximum ram and what type of memory should I update? In addition, my computer can even support 16gbs of ram? I have receieved conflicting information about it and I need to check the info I got is correct. I will include a picture of my computer listing of Speccy.

  There are a few suggestions on crucial, such as the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3-1600 UDIMM LP or the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) or 8 GB Crucial Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) and so on. (I don't know if you can see the recommended memory when you view my scan. I guess you can, but might as well include some of them that I'm interested in.)

  I have HP Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC, and I had problems with hard disk of the guarantee period. for example I buy in 2010 and had a hard drive replaced in 2011 and 2012. Next time, he failed in 2013 (almost 11 months apart on average).

  The last time it failed, the warranty has expired so I thought to give it a try as employment through fixing/amortization of bad sector seagate software, Toshiba... that came out of Smart Drive Error.

  I use the HARD drive for some time now, but want to be ready for the next round and I don't know that he's going to be gone for good next time.

  Current HARD disk is 640 GB, 7200 RPM hard drive (replaced in 2012). HP 621046-001 manufacturer.

  When replacing, can I use ANY hard drive 640 GB? Can I use a hard drive that is higher than 640 GB? Different RPM?

  Any suggestions on hard drive?

  The recovery discs I had received with the replacement drive did not work properly. I had to use the first game I had created just after I bought the laptop.

  2 storage: there 750 GB at 5400 RPM, you can switch to the fastest 1 TB HDD or SSD even. In theory, you can use everything BUT please use existing brand for compatible.

  3 CPU: please visit #2 of the manual above. You need number of right-hand side on page 81.

  4. video: sorry you can't, the chip is solderd to the motherboard and it came with the CPU.

  5 motherboard: you're talking about purchase new machine, much better. It is not easy and NOT economic to upgrade the motherboard for the laptop.

  That your PC has two free memory slots, and you bought ram DDR2 533 MHz 2 GB (1 GB x 2) memory. Compatibility should not be a problem. You have the right type and the amount of RAM in your PC. Once installed, it will take the total of your system's RAM to 4 GB. However, the caveat is that 32-bit operating systems can use only 3.25 GB of the 4 GB installed.   Upgrade from 2 GB to 4 GB would be beneficial for people who are heavy multitasking and running many background applications. In the field of heavy multitasking, the processor (CPU) begins plays a more important role, as an increase in the number of cores (e.g. upgrade of duals to four hearts) will prove beneficial, that simply increase RAM. I think that 2 GB of RAM should be sufficient for basic multitasking averages. Even most PC games benefit much from 2 GB to 4 GB.

  However with the RAM being if pricey as it is these days, it never hurts the Pocket to upgrade.
