HP PAVILION G6: HP PAVILION G6: IS MY DRIVE HARD NO LONGER WORKS?

Hi can someone help me with this, I just wanted to check that my hard drive is defective or not. OK, so when I charge my phone is says error SMART hard drive. INTELLIGENT drive control has detected a failure of immient etc. And when I did the test they say that the HARD DRIVE has failed. When I try to start up it also says "a disk read error has occurred." I need to replace my hard drive?

SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Thank you!!!

GamingPro334

Most likely, Yes, it doesn't have - as the test shows only and you cannot start it.

If you want to be sure, you could do the following:

(1) remove the drive from the PC

(2) connect the drive to another PC using an USB hard DRIVE adapter cable

(3) download and install a partitioning tool: free Partition Manager - Partition Wizard Standard AOMEI software

(4) use the option in the tool to check the drive - it must fail.

Good luck

  • Pavilion 15: HP plugged music app no longer works

    Hello

My HP plugged music app no longer works on my Pavilion 15.  Whenever I open it, it loads then immediately minimizes itself.  When I maximize, it seems to load a few seconds then is reduced again.  I haven't downloaded anything or modified system settings before this problem, so I don't know why it does.

I did a system restore, made no difference.  I was about to uninstall and then reinstall the app, but I can't seem to find in the Windows store (didn't when I typed "HP plugged music").

I noticed that all my other applications are still working fine.  I also noticed that on the HP website, he states that this product is not available in the United States is that true?  What is the problem?  It came with the laptop when I bought it a few months ago.  Help, please.

    Hey there @KM7 ,

Looking at it, I found this site.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Pavilion 17-g015dx: Add drive hard hp pavilion 17-g015dx

    Hi all

Recently bought a Pavilion 17-g015dx for parents.  I would like to add an additional ssd, but do not see the gates on the Sub unit.  So, two questions:

1: anyone know if there is a slot for HDD 2.5 "extra in the Pavilion 17-g015dx?

2: how to you remove the 17-g015dx flag to physically access the hard drive connectors?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

(In the book), no option for 2 HARD drives. I know that Envy 17 (not the flag) machines have 2 slots. My old ready machine has 2 HDD and a cache of 24 GB. My computer of current loan is also an Envy 17 and he has 2 HARD drives (in fact a 256GB SSD and a 1 TB HARD drive).

    Kind regards.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE: HP Advisor is no longer works and appears to waste of Internet Explorer

When Microsoft Update did an automatic update a few days ago, both HP Advisor and Internet Exporer work more and both give me the message that "Internet Explore (HP Advisor) has stopped working. I can't use.

Google Chrome doesn't seem to be affected.

Should I just try to uninstall HP Advisor? Or do you know another solution? HP Advisor is c. 3.3.9512.3162.

    Thank you.

@AuntiePol , welcome to the forum.

HP Advisor has been replaced by HP Support Assistant.  You choose the version appropriate for your computer and install it.  I would like to uninstall HP Advisor before starting.  Internet Explorer has given many of us problems.  I will not just use or Edge.  I use Firefox 42 and have had no problems.

  • Pavilion 15-ab040sa M1M96EA: driver Recomended Wifi not working not

    Hello

I have re-installed Win7 on this device and so downloaded all the drivers from support.hp.com

All seem to work ok except the drivers WIFI and LAN, State in which they can not installed correctly. There is no announcement for wifi adapter in the Device Manager and also in Control Panel \Network and internet-network connections.

I checked that the downloads appear intact. I'm assuming that the recommendation is not good for my hardware.

Can anyone help to advise what should be the correct driver downloaded? Or other measures to rectify?

Thanks in advance for all advice given,

    see you soon

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6b78us: 2 ports keyboard no longer work after replacing

I replaced the keyboard on this laptop a few hours ago. When I got to the top, the two USB ports on the right side of the laptop don't work anymore.

I have disconnected all devices from ports, uninstalled all the USB drivers, shut down, unplugged from power and removed the battery for more than 30 minutes.

I've got it backwards, propelled the drivers installed, but the two USB ports were not always working.

I checked the Device Manager to verify that there is no (!) ot (?) by devices.

I did a system restore from a point I knew for sure they worked, which was five days ago. Still no luck.

    It's really not cool.

If anyone can provide solutions, I would appreciate it.

    Sincerely,

    Tom

The right USB ports are on a separate Board that plugs into the motherboard with a cable that runs under the keyboard.

    Manual

    See page 77.

It is not impossible that you hit somehow the connection usb Board cable during the installation of the keyboard. I don't see any other explanation.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Replacement hard drive is shown on page 36 of the manual. Your laptop, plug, came with a disk 5400 RPM 500 GB. This model uses 7mm superslim hard drives is as well as what you buy. There are also options for a solid m2 or normal size state drive solid state SATA drive as a replacement for the mechanical drive slow 5400 RPM. In other words, it would be the perfect opportunity to speed it up a little.

It would be a 7200 RPM mechanical drive of 500 concerts and would be a good replacement at low cost:

  • Pavilion g602305tx: portable optical drive failure

When I insert a disc windows says pls insert the disc and then automatically eject the tray.

-DVD burner gets power, but not reads any disk.hp g6 2305tx-like pavilion, I need to replace the drive or it's a motherboard problem?

where can I buy original hp spare parts in bangladesh?

Use uefi HP PC Hardware Diagnostics utility to test the optical drive. My HP Omen 15 product ready to version 5.7.2.0 installed. You should maybe download and update your version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to get one that will test the optical drive. www.hp.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags

Press the power button and then press the ESC key to access the boot menu. Now, press the F2 key to enter the diagnosis. Click the tests of components and then click on the optical drive. If the test shows the drive as failure you know it's time to replace it.

Do a web search on Google or Bing with "hp pavilion g6-2305tx optical drive replacement"as key words to find a seller online.

  • HP Pavilion g6 - 2073ca - 2 TB hard drive

I want to replace the hard drive in my hp Pavilion g6 (it no longer works). I would like to replace it with a 2 TB drive. Are there problems with the computer being able to manage this capability?

Your product manual don't say that.

Can't handle your g6 Pavilion > 1 TB of hard drive configuration.
If you try to install 2 TB, it can display the message while booting to format your drive.

In short, it is not possible.

  • Pavilion zv5000 - IDE adapter for HARD drive?

I have a Pavilion zv5000 series portable whose hard drive died several years ago. My father sent him to a work friend, who understood that it was the HARD drive, and I guess that he threw the car with an adapter with it. I got an IDE drive, foolishly, assuming that the pins on the drive just fit into the connector on the laptop itself. After a lot of confusion as to why the player wouldn't be good, a research showed a card equipped with a regular at one end IDE connector and a connector similar to that on the laptop on the other. I ask if it is true that I need one, even if I do not otherwise so that it connects.

Also, nines are isolated from the main pins on the drive. The old connector Molex had also four pins. These are the power pins, and the adapter address these too? It doesn't seem to be any other connector on the laptop. Once again, I want to just confirm this and no I have to not just buy the wrong thing for this laptop.

Therefore the adapter that I'm looking for?

Yes, I used to own a zv5000 and I can confirm there was a plastic connector black who went on the IDE brass pins on the hard drive to allow the connection to the motherboard.

    This is what you need:
