HP Pavilion g7-1154nr Notebook PC - memory upgrade

Hello! I was wondering if the new memory, that I bought for my laptop will be compatible. I want to especially know that before I opened the package, they came, being eBay.

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1154nr Notebook PC

and I bought laptop G.Skill DDR3 memory at 1333 MHz, 2 of them, 4 GB each.

I'll put the two 4 GB memory in the laptop and am sure they will work, in place of the Hynix.

    Hello

Through 2, 3 page in this manual:
    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04427554.PDF

There are two slots for RAM, you can put two 8 GB of RAM of the same exact brand & plug as shown in the manual. Then max up to 16 GB is possible.

    Data sheet:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04454103

Go through page 104, 105 in the manual steps of replacement are not easy, and I would say you contact center of HP service in your region for assistance if you are under warranty as it will void the warranty for major disassembly can cause unexpected problems, if you're not used to it.

    Hello

Probably will work, but will be using the bus system board settings.

    What is the meaning:

Your processor, 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6600, has a 800 MHz FSB (front side BUS) speed

The speed of the FSB RAM DDR Original it's 800 MHz (PC2-6400, 800 MHz, DDR2)

If you insert this (PC3-10600 1333 MHz, DDR3) RAM you pay RAM at 1333 MHz FSB but your unit of Board of Directors system will use only 800 MHz, 533 MHz will be not use and probably your battery will be lost cool quickly and you might have errors in the OS.

    Conclusion: Do not use DDR3.

@MistaB Yes, that's what I thought. If it is not tested by HP, it'll be not there in the manuals I guess.

@MichaelCanton go ahead with SSD. Planning of 128GB? Previously, he was entitled to 500 GB HARD drive? You're going to make the bootable SSD?, then a little larger size would be better:

  • HP Pavilion dv7t Entertainment PC Memory Upgrade Question

    PRODUCT # NB444AV

I'm baffled why it shows only 2 GB of RAM now, when HP was supposed to install 4 GB. In any case, I would like to upgrade memory now.  I have referred to as "HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC. Maintenance and Service Guide "."  He describes the memory Module as:

Please see Chapter 4, page 54.

It seems to me that there are two memory slots (one almost on top of the other). Take a look at the illustration.

This is why the memory in Chapter 1 specifications indicate that you can install up to 8 GB of memory (2 x 4 GB).

You can install a single chip PC2-6400 4 GB and leave the one you have in there now.

It comes to the module memory 4 GB good cheaper brand I could find.

    Hello:

Graphics cards cannot be updated simply.

You will need to replace the motherboard with another which would have better graphics (if available for your model).

This would cost as much buying a new laptop, so it is probably not a good idea to undertake such a venture.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.
