HP Pavilion-G7-1310US: SSD compatibility

Hello informed people!

I have a HP Pavilion-G7-1310US of . Intel Core i3 - 2350M to 2.3 GHz. My hard drive makes noise and I fear that it is on it is the last step. The machine is also very slow. I am thinking of wiping clean and go with an SSD. Can someone tell me if there is a compatible SSD? I looked online and can't find discs HP (imagine that) which are very expensive. I think it has a SATA interface but I see in the research, there are many variations of "SATA". Can someone tell me if there is a compatible SSD for this other than the readers of HP machine?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there and welcome to the Forums of HP Support

Well your PC is Compatible with a 2.5 inch SATA solid state Drive SATA III Interface which are however Up x 28 times faster, then a HARD disk

To reinstall the new promenade you will need a clean copy of Windows or HP recovery support

  • Pavilion DV4-1413TX: SSD compatibility

Hi, the HARD drive inside my laptop is quite old and slow. I want to replace it with an SSD. Is there a brand or model which is of course compatible with my laptop HP (HP Pavilion DV4-1413TX)? Can you recommend some? Thanks a lot for your help!

    It's the dv4 repair:

    Manual

For installation instructions, see p. 59.

You can use any large 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Those who are going to be 7 mm thick, but will always be the bolt in the caddy in place and place a thich 9.5 mm hard drive. Get at least a 240 gig. Something more kid is simply too small to work with and the prices are more reasonable now for larger sizes. On an older machine like yours, you can shop on price because the performance differences aren't really going to be too sensitive. Your laptop's SATA-II, but you should get a SSD SATA-III and will downclock to SATA-II operation will always be incredibly fast compared to a hard disk.

This is a "negotiation" player available on Amazon with first delivery for less than $60 and would work fine:

    http://www.Amazon.com/aData-Premier-SP550-240GB-ASP550SS3-240GM-C/DP/B013J7Q338/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1460287635&SR=8-1&keywords=240+gig+SSD

    It's a 'high-end' SSD, one I personally always recommend, for $88:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-inch-internal-MZ-75E250B-am/DP/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&QID=1460287635&SR=8-5&keywords=240+gig+SSD

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: SSD compatibility

Hallow, I want to put in place an ssd.

My laptop laptop HP Pavilion 15, product number is K6Y21EA #ACB.

Which ssd is compatible? The size?

It can be done, but not easy. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

See p. 94. You must remove the top cover, but not the motherboard. You can replace the 2.5 inches wide and 9.5 mm thickness standard hard drive with a 2.5 inches wide 7 mm thick SATA SSD. You can install a 1 TB SSD, if your budget allows.

I recommend a Samsung 850 Evo like here:

    Hello

Intel 6230 is listed as compatible, but the part number belongs to an Intel Centrino 1030. I would try the 6230 as the laptop is a Sandy Bridge one. 6235 Intel works on laptops series Dv6 from Ivy Bridge.

    Hello

This notebook is without a doubt SATA III. The size is more or less in your pocket. I prefer Corsair or readers Intel but Samsung and Kingston were also a few good products. I generally recommend buying any SSD with SandForce SATA controllers that readers have faster speed writing and in my opinion even better reliability.

  • SSD compatibility w/PERC S300 RAID?

We have an old PE T110 first generation with a PERC S300 RAID controller and 4x250GB drives. However, because the controller is older, there isn't much documentation about SSD compatibility. Does anyone at - he had success the upgrade of any server/workstation using a PERC S300 with an SSD of any kind in a RAID 10 configuration?

Finally, I don't remember what type of connector is on the existing disks and am a little confused about the difference between SATA and SAS. What normally comes stock with this system and which would need if I moved to SSD? New cables? Anything else I need to know?

    htc2010
is it not reasonable to assume I could just as easily swap on each drive in the Bay, one at a time, with a SSD?

You cannot mix SAS and SATA drives in the same array. Also, you cannot mix HDD and SSD. If SSD does not support the S300, then he cannot know the difference between a SATA SSD and a SATA HDD, so it can work, but 1) I wouldn't rely on it and 2) just know that real RAID controllers, it can be done.

In the end, I don't know if she will achieve your goals. The reason why I asked is because you could just add the SSD as a new VD, then move the files of database, etc. on to improve the speed, but it sounds like a lot of work for little return. I just invest in a backup recovery solution, good. If it can work in a virtual environment?

  • HP Pavilion g6 - 1219sv SSD Upgrade

I want to improve my laptop (HP Pavilion g6 - 1219sv) with a SSD hard drive. Y at - it suggestions on the model which works perfectly with my system?

    Hello

This link will help you to deepen your knowledge of SSDfor your system.

I assume that your system has been delivered with 640 GB 5400 RPM drive HARD SATA 2.5 "9.5 mm, but your system also compatible with 7 mm drives too, here is the manual .

Yes, you can go for 2.5 "7mm / 9.5 mm SATA SSD.

Contact the nearest HP Service center before you buy SSDS to confirm compatibility with your model.

MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF FILES PERSONNEL SINCE THE HDD ON ANOTHER EXTERNAL DRIVE BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH REPLACEMENT.

Since you 640 GB preinstalled, you may not be able to use recovery disks for the resettlement of the plant affecting BONES to your<640GB ssd="" if="" you're="" planning="" for="" lesser="" size="">

But you could migrate/clone HARD whole with BONE disk image & recovery for the SSD partition before removing the HARD drive with the USB connection to the SATA connector that comes with the SSD or you will have to buy them separately.

Format the SSD drive before you start the migration, there is software for it in the SSD itself manufacturer website.

And then change it yourself if its easily accessible or give it to your nearest service center HP.

    Some examples of online shops:

    Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5 - Inch SATA III

    SAMSUNG 840 EVO

    Samsung EVO 840 500 GB

  • Pavilion dm4 1006tu: SSD installation on dm4 1006tu

    Hello
I want to install the SSD drive on my laptop (pavilion dm4 1006 YOU.)
Before installing, I want to confirm by experts which makes my system configuration supports the SSDS?
I heard that SSDS have backward compatibility with legacy systems.
And my HARD drive is 5 years old, the reason why I want to replace it with SSDS.

Please fix this, so I could move further with the installation of the solid state drive.
    Thank you
    Anshul

No Yes No problem. Your portable computer hardware will fully support an SSD. Is the SATA-II speed, but a SSD SATA-III works perfectly.

Your hard drive is a size of 320 gig so I recommend a 500 GB SSD which make it easy to clone (copy) from the old drive to the SSD drive or you can use the HP recovery discs. You can install a smaller if budget is a constraint.

It is a good SSD to buy it:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-inch-internal-MZ-75E500B-am/DP/B00OBRE5UE/ref=sr_1_2?s=PC&ie=UTF8&QID=1444780338&SR=1-2&keywords=Evo+850

Sizes from 120 GB to 2 TB.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.
