HP Pavilion HPE h8-1000z PC - weird noise internal Hum at startup...

I got my HPE for three months now and am very happy with it. However, about a week or two ago, it started making this curious buzzing noise at startup. (it looks like a quiet opener or a large bee stuck in my Tower) He had never done this before noise and the noise is never more than 2.5 minutes. Sometimes, he doesn't even noise when it starts. Also, when I put in mode 'sleep' and wake him up, the noise is never present, neither when I stop.

The functions of the computer as he always had - don't slow, mistakes or problems. When the noise stops, it's like there is no different. I used the CPUID to check fans and there is no fan overheating or excessive use.

I opened the side and on the other night. The noise comes from the graphics card fan or the fan from the motherboard. The power supply fan and the fan back are not suspects, nor is the disc or hard disk drive. Everything is up to date and there is no update of the BIOS for my system that I see.

Data sheet:

CPU AMD Phenom II X 4 840 T

NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 graphics controller

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 x

CPUID says that the motherboard is FOXCONN a 2A 92.

Any help appreciated. Wanted to ask online before going to the customer service. So far, I've lived with the noise no problem, I'm just afraid that it is something that could harm my computer.

Hello

If your PC is still under warranty then contact HP support.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or here online.

The video ports motherboard are disabled on most PCs automatically when a discrete video card is detected by the bios, so the black caps are placed on ports video motherboard when a discrete video card is installed to avoid problems of video connection (not knowing where to attach the video cables).  If you want to try the video embedded, then you must remove the video card and remove the black cap (s).

BTW, depending on the video card and its bios, you can hear a quick fan noise until you see the desktop.

  • Very high speed of the HP Pavilion HPE h8-1120une fan

    Hello!

I got a desktop computer HP Pavilion HPE h8-1120une for about 2 months now and he was executed brilliantly (Windows 7 64-bit).  This morning when I turned on, the computer was much stronger than usual.  Installed the latest BIOS and F10 had started to see that the speed of the CPU fan 4500 rpm and the system fan speed 2500 RPM.  This seems quite high.

The noise is obviously a bit annoying! Any ideas how to solve this problem would be much appreciated!

    Cheers, Davo

    Hello

    First try this procedure .

Use a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the heatsink from the CPU, although with a cold PC it might not solve the problem.

Try to clear the CMOS memory.

You might consider trying the B key over the Windows key, and then press the power button.  This could the bios image backup pickup if it is stored on the PC.

Contact HP support and ask the ROM/BIOS recovery procedure. Recent HP PC will store a backup of previous BIOS level.  HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

Hello, since yesterday when I turned on my HPE h8-1120it HP Pavilion the CPU fan and rear fun cooling are always rotating at high speed, and they never stop. I have nothing no hardware changes, no change in software. Two days I will I work all day without problem, I turn off as usual the PC, I'm going to bed and then yesterday morning I turned on and now I have this problem. The PC is brand new (I bougth it about 1 month ago). There is no problem of temperature (now I 19 ° C on my computer room).

Read another similar post I figured might be a bios problem. The version of the bios is 7.11, I tried to see if there is an update of canno't ' t there, but I find an update of the bios for Pavilion HPE h8-1120it.

I burned a CD with the hardware HP Vision Diagnostic and I run the pleasure of tests and they all passes. During these tests, the pleasure seem to achieve the right speed in the progress of the test.

I noticed this strange thing: when I bought the PC I immediately activated in the bios the use of VT to use hardeware virtualization with VMWare player. Yesterday, I found this setting changed and disabled and it's very strange because I did not change the values in the bios.

What can I do? The noise of the fans at full speed is impressive, that I can't work on these conditions!

    Thank you

    Hi all

Just received delivery of the new Pavilion HPE PC.  Turned on the PC and the fan is way too noisy.  Applied just latest Bios Rev 7.12 and took a look in the Bios and can see the system fan speed is constantly running a little over 4000 rpm and the CPU turns fan I think a little over 2000 rpm, there are no adjustable parameters for the thermal options.

The system fan is the noise, the power supply fan is not yet noticeable.

  • HP pavilion hpe h8-1020: evga geforce gtx 950 in hp pavilion hpe h8-1020

Hello guys I have a hp pavilion hpe h8-1020 and I am looking to upgrade to a nvidia gtx 950 is it compatibile, what I need to supply?

    Hello

There is a unknown specification for your motherboard that will prevent you from installing a new 3.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card. Maps 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe x 16 2.0 slots. Your motherboard may have a PCIe x 16 1.0 slot. None of these options below works on your PC if you have PCIe x 16 version 1.0

The Radeon HD 6570, an option to purchase, is a PCIe x 16 card USB2.0. You can have a 2.0 slot. It is unclear when we look at the characteristics of HP for your PC.

I got a HD 6570. You could not install drivers from AMD with the version of HP of this card. You need to use the HP drivers. It is possible that this card is not a 2.0 card even if the consumer version is a USB2.0 card. We can only guess.

MSI is rolling out hybrid Nvidiacards soon. Try anything tangible yet seen. NVIDIA is slowly releasing the 1000 series cards that require less power. Maybe some OEM will also include hybrid versions that will work on your PC any time.

The 900 series Nvidia graphics cards need the UEFI BIOS.

Your PC has a legacy BIOS.

You have a 300 Watt power supply. You will have to upgrade from food to run a card AMD and respect the strict minimum if you can install a TG 640 GDDR5 map.

You may be able to install (you need a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0) Nvidia 600 series cards or watch hybrid of AMD cards by Sapphire.

AMD cards are longer and require larger power supplies.

You should check that you have the power and the room to install two graphics cards. The cards are also double slot. You will need to verify that you can install a card double slot. Even once, you need a PCIe x 16 slot on the motherboard 2.0.

    See you soon!

I recently baught an EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 became quite long in the tooth and I thought that I would try to future proof myself a little as the rest of my components seem to be working very well.  However, I can't get the map to work correctly on this particular computer.  Oddly enough, I can get past that screen startup finally after several short beeps and let it sit, but it takes fowever to reach the office and clearly is not executed properly that the resolution is wobbly and software from Nvidia cannot even detect the card.  I guess I had got this far because of the onboard graphics of some sort, but AFAIK this motherboard which lacks.

I know that the card works fine as I tested it in my other Tower, so I struggled to find a solution.  So far, it seems that the problem is most likely the motherboard, as HP does not have a new BIOS for it since the beginning of 2013 (which I did go ahead and install it).  If true, I find myself with either two options, it seems that the ditch system, entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd rather not have to empty this workaholic, when all other parts work great, if it is not a work around I would like to know if there are motherboards I could pass that would work with the rest of my components.  Normally I would not bother with even apply for, but I hear a lot of chatter on HP PCs pre-constructed having compatibility problems.

I bought this computer there is in the case of four years that I would be able to update as I do with any other PC, but I didn't know at the time that HP has a tendency to not update the BIOS settings for anything beyond a year which I admit is incredibly frustrating.  What is done is done however, and I want to make this work without having to clear the entire system.

    @Faver, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the 1060 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.

MSI made cards with a switch that can be used with a Legacy BIOS or UEFI.  If you decide to go this way, you must contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

The upgrade of the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has taken advice their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the commercial versions.  Please make sure that the holes in the motherboard matches the accessory in the case.  In addition, some members have had problems with the connectors in the connections case before, for example, the power button.

    Shadgam, welcome to the forum.

New after the 640 GT video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of the standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.

I see no reason why the GTS 450 (see card) is not working on your computer.  Your motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 (Gen.2) slot.  You can always call the manufacturer's Technical Support to make sure the card you have chosen will work.

The computer is aware of the updates of Windows and can be stopped normally.
