  • Dell XPS 8500 - start not at all - motherboard problems?

I have a Dell XPS 8500 I bought in January of 2013 and of course, is now out of warranty. I have not had too many problems with the pc, but last week, I was copying some video files on the SD card in the card on the hard disk drive. My wife told me that supper was ready, so I left the system to finish copying the video files on the HARD drive and ate with my family.

After we finished eating, I went back in the Office to discover that my computer was turned off. I tried to turn it back on and got no answer to it at all. I held the power button down and still nothing. After unplugging all devices still do not get response. I unplugged the power cord that goes into the food and green on the back of that flickered as I unplugged and plugged in so I thought I had my problem properly diagnosed as a failure of the power supply. I ordered a replacement PSU and installed today but I'm still no response from the computer when you try to start it. I have all the cords of the PSU properly plugged into the HDD and the dvd player and the connector 24 pin to the motherboard as well as the connection of 4 pins so.

The ONLY answer I get when trying to turn on the computer is that the fan in the power supply and fan to the rear of the case against surges momentarily and return to the stop. They are not even a half of a revolution, and that's all I get.

Any suggestions would be wonderful! I wonder if it's a motherboard problem and if so, where to find a replacement motherboard. And if not the mobo, what else it could be.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

  • Problems as well HP Pavilion G6 1331sa motherboard

Hi there I was wondering if someone can help me and I hope that everyone is well.

    I have HP Pavilion:

    Product name g6-1331sa product number A8M93EA microprocessor 1.6 GHZ AMD Quad - Core A8 - 3520 M APU with Radeon 6620 + 7450 M Dual Graphics microprocessor Cache 4 MB L2 cache 6 GB DDR3 Memory Max memory supports up to 6 GB memory DDR3 Graphics Video AMD Radeon HD 6620 G + 7450 M bi - GPU (1 GB DDR3 dedicated) screen 39.6 cm (15.6 ") HD LED BrightView (1366 x 768) hard drive

    750 GB SATA (5400 RPM)

The unit has suffered liquid damage recently and I got a diagnosis that the motherboard needs to be replaced, something to do with the graphics card or along these lines.

Replacement seems simple enough, or so I thought.

I took S/N that is in the memory slot: 649950-001 and looked to find the correct replacement motherboard. I found a couple of advertising the same part number, but they are for HP Pavilion G4 and G7 only and I have been informed by the suppliers that they would not enter my G6.

Now I am at a loss because I don't know what is the correct part number and it's a mistake at HP.

My laptop was in repairs recently with PC World, which I talked about the motherboard, but they insisted, they changed only a fan.

Can someone explain what could happen and the same part number 649950-001 can adapt to my machine...?

Any help would be appreciated or point in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance...

I didn't know you had your own drives win 7. that will be fine. What is the LCD. It's a little more difficult. few things to check. Windows has the internal LCD turned off? What a turn on/off screen, it's usually a FN and one of the function keys on the top row. On my dv9000, it can have ether of the LCD or external, not both.

  • HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n problem

So I had this problem which started today.

When I booted my PC: HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n - it goes to the startup screen with the HP logo but it remains just there frozen.

Another thing I have noticed is my mouse and keyboard are not powered at all even though they are correctly connected to their respective ports.

I don't know why he acts up like this now. I tried to connect the mouse to another PC and it worked, so there must be something wrong with the HP Pavilion itself.

Wouldn't be the motherboard or some circuit?

Other things to note that I got this PC reformatted all for more than a year with an installation of XP (as he came originally with XP).

Restarted the PC and still has the same issues. CD Player opens, the PC itself is powered and the screen is frozen on the blue screen HP startup. (Shows the menu and controls everything, but can not yet exploited cause there is not going to the keyboard.)

It is possible that a RAM module is either lost contact with the slot, or is defective. Can help with reintegration.

    (1) note what slots are occupied. Remove all the RAM of motherboard. Here's the tech manual. Put 1 module in the slot located near the CPU. According to the chassis, it could have a radiator/fan together.

    (2) unit to retest. Repeat with additional modules.

    (3) any module that tests OK can be reinstalled in appropriate accommodation.

  • Pavilion 500-164: motherboard replacement raises Questions

Thanks, Malygris1, for your very comprehensive answer.  Unfortunately, I'm looking forward and installed the new Board of Directors.  For those faced with replacing a motherboard HP, I will elaborate on my trip.  The most important step was in buying for the motherboard.  I have no HP, but from a dealer on Ebay.  I DID, however, carefully note the model of the motherboard AND the designated HP part number of alternatives on a small paper on the motherboard label.  The same motherboard model is used in several models of HP Office; but, if the number of HP spare parts is matched, the info on the model should be on the motherboard.

My original problems were solved with the installation of the new Council.  After a router struck by lightning, the ethernet port had stopped working, and when told to stop, or in standby mode, the machine would invariably restart.  The new motherboard solved both problems, which seem to be related to the power surge.

I installed the new Board of Directors of the Windows 10 updated 500-164 and held my breath I have it powered for the first time.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything looked the same as when I left it.  Recognized support assistant the new Board of Directors as part of a desktop computer 500-164.  I have not tried; but I hope that the recovery media will work, if necessary.  Malygris1, do you think that if Support Assistant recognizes the info on the model, the recovery disks will work?  I'm curious to know how it works, but, if not, no big deal, as I now have a new image Acronis 10 Windows installation, which works perfectly on the 500-164 Pavilion (without "Pitfalls", as some have reported with audio, etc. of the wireless card.).

My second concern was whether or not Windows is always activated with the installation of the new Council.  He said that he "Windows is not activated.  ... Rats and other profanity.  I know it can take time to be put in correspondence with the info from Microsoft, so I updated the bios and checked the rest of the ports for the features of the machine.  I returned in configuration/system Panel and he told me that the activation information were "unavailable" - different from the message 'not active' sooner.  I've been waiting on this screen for a few minutes and the message changed to "Windows is activated"!  I was ready to make Microsoft telephone activation and I had run a keyfinder to get the original MS product key for Windows 8 from the hard drive, but I didn't have to use both methods.

So, in summary, if you want a card mother 'replacement', shop for the exact number of spare parts HP; not only the MFG part number.  It will save you a lot of grief.  Obviously, if you want to 'upgrade' from your motherboard, all bets are off, because it's a totally different scenario with different issues to deal with.  My project was a complete success at a cost of $103 for the new motherboard and several hours of my time.

  • Pavilion dv6 1110ax motherboard replacement

    Hello

Recently my 1110ax BIOS corrupted and m unable to get by any way mrntioned on the forums.

Key combinations don't work not and this USB STICK.

Now the service center guys say that the motherboard has problem and must be replaced. which I doubt completely.

Is that what someone can say if I can keeping my existing AMD turion processor & card graphics ATI radeon 1 GB to save cost.

And is it possible to upgrade the processor and graphics card.

I had been using this laptop for 5 years now and really don't want to give up on this...

    Receive no response.

You can save the processor and the memory and the hard drive, but the video is part of the motherboard. The processor you have is:

AMD Turion RM-74 2.2 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

It's the fastest that can be installed:

    AMD Turion™ ZM-87, 2.4 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

A ZM-87 is about $40 on eBay and I'll tell you that it is not worth it for a ghz upgrade.2.

Radeon 1 GB video is upscale for the dv6-1000 series, so there is no better mother/video card.

    It's the motherboard:

    509450 001

It is a good deal at $78 for the Board of Directors:

My computer says I don't have 1 stick of RAM in, when I clearly have two. I can't find this problem anywhere else. I searched for hours. I looked in the BIOS config and ran a few tests of memory and whatnot, and they all confirm that I only have 4Gigs of RAM. This computer is new, so I have no idea what is wrong. I even picked up the RAM at the store and he exchanged with an identical kit, but nothing seems to work. I run a:

  • Portege Z830 charge not (chip motherboard problem)

Hello, my z830 battery does not charge and it works only connected to electricity. The problem is in the chip from the motherboard, battery works very well. What chip I need to buy and change to solve the problem?

    Thank you
    Sébastien.

Are you sure that it is the motherboard, not the battery to 100%?
The battery is of 4 years, he had worn out now.

If it is in fact a motherboard...
I don't think you can get the chips separately, you may need a whole new mainboard.

  • HP Pavilion Gaming 15 - ak155nm: problem with detection m.2 SSD

    Hello

I built a computer with M.2 Intel SSD 256 GB 600p and for some reason it does not detect the SSD m2. I have HP Pavilion 15 - ak155nm portable Gaming. Please help.

    Thank you

    Toni

    Yes.

The Samsung 850 Pro is compatible with the motherboard of your laptop and the BIOS.

A 256 GB SSD would be a better choice if you can afford it. You can install the operating system of the laptop to it.

The ability of a DSS must be 160 GB or more to allow using the recovery USB key that you need to have created now.

  • HP Pavilion m4-1001TX: startup problems

Hello! My laptop is a HP Pavilion m4-1001TX. Recently, I updated my Windows laptop, 10 OS. Subsequently, I met problems white screen, which was resolved by resets hard (as suggested by various forums).

A week ago, I met the same problem. However, I tried the suggestions (from hard reset, external LCD screen, BIOS recovery, for re-allocation of places the memory module). Whenever I start it, I can hear the hum of the fan 3 seconds, but then everything is silent. The power button and LED f12 button is down as well.

    Once again, Hello.

So my laptop will not initialize correctly for about a month and a half, which led me to use my tablet.

Anyway, it took me a long time before deciding to disassemble my laptop. Because ultimately, I could so he had repaired, I tried to check his parts. Verification of entrails, the fan is full of dust.

After cleaning, the laptop worked properly. (FINALLY.)

so for you guys, try troubleshooting step by step made by HP. However, if these things didn't work and your laptop is probably a year or two and you haven't cleaned his fan, you might as try though clean it by compressed air or disassembled.

Disassembly, check the code of product in your laptop and search for it on HP Media tab. The research would generate some links, one of them showing a manual on how to disassemble the laptop properly. Follow these steps carefully.

I hope this post helps you on about the start-up problems.

NOTE: Disassembly for me is my last choice, so DO NOT REMOVE IT unless YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IT.
