HP Pavilion Notebook T0U71UA #A: I want to add an external monitor on my HP Pavilion

Hello

I am wanting to buy an external display for my computer hp laptop and I want to be clipped on the side of my normal screen. They manufacture and sell such a thing? Can if so someone point me in the directiion of right?

And what type of screen should I expect? My laptop is 15.6 so I want him to be comparable. I want something nice, great qualty and no lag... So I'm not worried about how much money I spend.

Thank you, Randy

There is no option as to what your asking the unit must be a stand-alone unit. It should match your output resolution if your computer screen is resized to match the outside if you display both at the same time. If you want to match the resolution then you will need to find a monitor that corresponds to your max to your screen resolution to ensure the two match without a resize to match the lower resolution. So check out your Max resolution on you laptop and find the ext monitor which is larger or the matches it appears correctly on both screens. What I found is your product number:

15.6 "diagonal IPS FHD WLED-backlit touch screen (1920 x 1080)

The post must therefore at least 1920 x 1080.

    Hey1950, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can use a USB port.  Here is a USB video adapter that should do what you need.  These adapters are designed for USB 2.0. but they make USB 3.0, also.  You can speak with a representative at StarTech to answer your questions about them.

I want to add a 3rd monitor to my laptop HPdv6700, but my graphics card allows 2 screens to buy a new graphics card to allow 3 screens

    Hey titanman78,

I certainly understand where you come from. I am a player myself and it would be great to be able to use 3 monitors, but unfortunately, it is simply not cost-effective. The graphics chip of your laptop is soldered to the motherboard. To upgrade your graphics chip, you need to buy a new motherboard and I hope that it fits within the confines of the works and with other components such as the WiFi card, USB card, card reader SD and the power button. It would be difficult to find if it is available to all. The other option might be if you could find a repair business card mother who would be willing to guarantee their work enough to unsolder your old graphics chip and solder on a new graphics chip. There still no guarantees with that however, that he would work with the chipset, processor, and the HP Framework software.

Generally for an 'Advanced' like that game, a customizable desktop computer is a better option. I had to break myself and save money to build my own recently. Carey Holzman has an excellent series of tutorials on creating your own gaming PC on Youtube. That's if you're an amateur. If not, look for pre-made desktop computers with AMD Eyefinity - what is AMD Eyefinity?

  • If I want to use an external monitor of ranking on dell precision 5000 or Hp zbook (equipped both of usb3 and thunderbolt 3) this piece of harware would work with SG?

If I want to use an external monitor of ranking on dell precision 5000 or Hp zbook (equipped both of usb3 and thunderbolt 3) this piece of harware would work with SG? My monitor is a scientist of Flanders HDSDI LM-2460W. I know blackmagic has a few options but the last time I checked, he has not worked with SG. Anyone know?

I think Sg works more easily with an output of your video card... I run two monitors style DVI outputs, but he could use the HDMI connections too I think. The tab Setup (wrench) go you and activate a second monitor and... it's a unique method instead... use the lines where she asks location information to 'say' Sg where the upper-left pixel of your second monitor (program or viewing) is your monitor 'system '.

I had two 1920 x 1080 monitors, stacked vertically, OS/UI on the bottom, "programs" or reading on the upper monitor.

So, this upper-left pixel of my 2nd monitor is a negative number for 'up' and zero to indicate the two pixels top left "even".

It is-1080 for the "vertical" number... it's the height of my 2nd screen and it is negative, because it is above the main screen.

It is 0 for the horizontal number. Yes, they are stacked.

Now, if I had a monitor/program play to the left of my OS/UI screen, it would be...

    Vertical number 0, as relatively, they have the same 'height ';

Horizontal number of-1920, that reading is on the left.

Reading right... Vertical would be 0 and horizontal a positive number of 1920 (width of the primary monitor).

  • Impossible to add an external monitor or adjust the brightness of the screen: Pavilion dv7-4031TX (Windows 7)

    Hello

I recently replaced both hard drives of HDD2K12, which meant I had to re-enstall Windows 7. Since that time, I have no options more in using an external monitor or even the brightness of the screen. The computer does not recognize the monitor when I Plug and all my drivers are up to date.

Can you make suggestions that could help to solve these two problems?

    Kind regards

    Peter

Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.

However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.

    (1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.

    (2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)

    (3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.

    How I solved the problem:

    1 > pass.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-95107-1 & CC = in the & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4063 & Product = 4253423 & sw_lang =

and go to the graphics driver and download the graphics driver and follow the directions. At the end of the installation you will be asked to restart the computer.

0nce you have restarted your computer, you should be able to adjust the brightness of the screen using the fn keys or the brightness slider in the window 'power Option '.

    2 > Activting 2nd monitor

Click on Device Manager... At start-> right click on 'Computer' and click 'properties '. Click on "Device Manager". Now click on "monitors".

Now connect the exernal monitor to your laptop while watching where the monitor icon appears under "monitors". It should appear as 'Generic PNP monitor'.

Now, right-click on it and select "update driver software... "then search automatically for updated drivers. Install the new drivers. You should see the generic 'PNP monitor' name change to another name.

3 > restart your computer. You should find that after doing all this, you should be back to normal.

Windows does * not * have the opportunity to do so. Depending on what you have the video card, the driver for him may have this procedure.

If the driver for your video card has this ability in the usual way, what he has done is by pressing Ctrl-Alt and an arrow key.

  • How to add an external monitor for Pavilion dv6000z

I have an extra monitor and I have pluged it in. computer had a fit

    Hello

Connect the external monitor to the laptop using a VGA or HDMI cable, and then press Fn + F4.

It should toggle the display on the screen.

If you press Fn + F4 once, then, it goes to the external screen

If you press twice: she will display on both

You can also adjust the settings by going to display settings. Here are some links to the steps:

  • Portege Z830: I want to disable internal LCD and use only the external monitor

    I have a Toshiba Portege z830.
I use my laptop in "Extended desktop", mode with an external monitor, which is the main display.
In this mode, the two screens are still on, but I want the built-in LCD screen to be opened only when I use it.

    Is this possible?
    Thank you.

    Hello

In my opinion, this is not possible.
In extended mode, you use and display internal but extended and the long part is visible on the external monitor.
In such a case its any that your external monitor is set as main display.

If you want to use an external monitor only, you can only export the video signal on external monitor by pressing FN + F5

  • HP Pavilion a6000: I have HP Pavilion a6000 and want to add a new WD 1 TB Hard Drive blue

I have a HP Pavilion a6000 and you want to add a new WD Blue 1 TB hard and clone (including OS) the old 250 GB hard drive to the new drive and then use the old drive for music.  What should I do?

    You are welcome.

Sorry, but I can't help you with the question about the SATA motherboard ports - hopefully someone else can help you here.

However, for cloning, you can use a USB cable to SATA, with which you can connect your hard drive to the USB port on the computer and transfer all the data from the old to the new drive.

I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?  Somewhere in the 320 to 500 GB range and I want a quick unit because it will be used for rendering videos.    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.

  • I have a HP Pavilion Elite i7 Desktop w Windows 7 and I want to add a 3 TB hard. I can?

I have an i7 HP Pavilion Elite Desktop w 2 year, Windows 7 and I want to add a 3 TB hard.  Can I add a 3 TB hard (probably known as the Segate Barracuda XT 3 TB HD) as a secondary disk without changes.  If this is not the case, what should I do?

Short answer is not really. You need UEFI BIOS to do, and your system did not come with it. You could add it, but only 2.2 to be visible as a single drive. Using utilities... etc. of the manufacturer of the HARD drive, you could partition to see the rest, but as hard disks get bigger, the BIOS must change to adapt. They changed, but still yours is the older BIOS inherited, and there is no way to change it to a UEFI version.

    Sorry

  • HP Pavilion dv4: can I factory reset with an external monitor attached to my laptop?

I got a laptop HP Pavilion dv4 entertainment PC. It has a cracked screen and I use an external monitor attached. Can I do a factory reset with the attached external monitor? The monitor is an HP w1815 LCD, case ini that matters.

Thanks for any help on this.

I would like to add that I can see on both screens only on screen cracked that I can't see the bottom of it due to cracking. As recovery options are visible on the external display, it would be prudent to start the recovery process? I made a few choice, but I am now at the point choose to 'pull the trigger' and click next to start it or hit Cancel.

    Thank you.
